I keep coming back.”
i have stayed at la paloma hotel 4 times now and the friendly staff remember me and assist me with anything i need. i will be a regular visitor to phitsanulok and i will continue to stay at the hotel. i have 2 negatives: this is the second time i have had trouble flushing the toilet and with so many western customers it would be good to have some english speaking tv chanels.

The place was empty but, comfortable”
Although, we hardly seen other guests staying at La Paloma-we liked our 2 nights there. The pool and restaurant were great and the staff attentive. The hotel is about 5-10 minutes cab ride from the center of phitsanulok.

La Paloma Hotel, Pitsanulok”
La Paloma Hotel has large spacious rooms. It is located close to the city center but we had a difficult time looking for it when we arrived the city. However, its location is close to the night market and places like the museum and the bird garden and foundry. Buffet breakfast is okay. Hotel staff are friendly and answer promptly to our queries. Will definitely use this hotel again.

Well located hotel..I have stayed there many times”
I have stayed at La Paloma Hotel on more than 10 occasions because it is well located to suit my needs. I like a workout in the gym which has all the equipment I need. I like the range of food available in the restaurant but a little more choice for breakfast would be nice.

A Grand Hotel”
In the La Paloma Hotel was a grand hotel...it still is, 20+ years has not deminished its grandgure just took the shine off. The La Paloma, has huge rooms with all the furnishings of a high-end hotel in its youth. The service in on top of every need, the facilities are all functional, the nightly stay, with a full breakfast is certainly a bargain in today's world. Stay here, learn what was still is, just like you and I.

Very Comfortable but a bit secluded”
The hotel is very comfortable and the staff are very helpful. Too bad the hotel is a bit far from the main attractions or points of interests of Phitsanulok (night bazaar, train station,...), because finding a tuktuk is a bit difficult early morning or at night next to the hotel . I really appreciated that the breakfast started at 6 am, I had to catch an early flight and could get some food beforehand. The pool is very clean and big enough to relax or do some laps

La Paloma Hotel”
The hotel is in a very large building and offers a very comfortable and spacious rooms. The rooms are very clean. The Bathroom was a little bit outdated, but managable. The staff is extremaly friendly, especially the manager of the hotel. The internet is 50 bat. The hotel also has an English speaking newspaper. I was offerred a free shuttle to the railway station. The breakfast is quite good with lots of options to choose from. The hotel is far from the city center, but managable to reach. The bus station is very far, but, the railway station is closer. It is a very quite place and I highly recommend it.

Good size rooms but looking somewhat tired”
Rooms a reasonable size but looking somewhat tired and could do with a freshen up. Furniture very simple and plain. Bed mattress a bit on the hard side but not unacceptably so. Has a mini fridge but no mini safe or tea/coffee facilities or hair dryer in the room. Only one available power point in the whole room for guest use. The air-con worked well. Room was a bit too minimalist but at least there was some wood panelling. I didn't try out the internet access. TV had Cable though few English language. Bathroom absolutely tiny, only soap and small shampoo provided, no shaver point in bathroom. Combi shower with small bath and simple shower through good water pressure. Toilet was pretty low down so a bit awkward. We were very annoyed when the hotel tried to charge us 50 baht each when we asked for 2 extra pillows as only one each had been provided, totally unacceptable in the day and age. However, to their credit Reception didn't make much of a fuss when we phoned down to complain and they quickly rescinded the charge. Generally, the staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast wasn't included in our rate so as we were only staying one night we decided to not bother with breakfast at the hotel, so cannot comment on the food. The lifts were fairly efficient and one didn't have long to wait. The car park area is fairly large, including some covered spaces so unlikely to be an issue for guests. There was a decent sized pool available. Best to ask for a room higher up, say the 5th floor, as we did as although the city is not very pretty at least you will then get a wide view as most buildings are lower than the hotel. Be aware that the one way system and narrow streets in Phitsanulok and few street names visible make finding the hotel a bit difficult so either call for directions or else print out a decent map of the city centre from the internet, if it is your first visit. The nearest major landmark is the Buddhachinaraj Hospital.

Perfect for what i wanted”
La Paloma, is the perfect hotel for people on a budget, clean and big rooms, with a good variety of buffet breakfast. Not the best decorated hotel, looks dull inside, but you wont find a better hotel that is better value for money.

La Paloma Comforts”
My stays at the La Paloma were satisfying experiences. I do not look toward self indulgent accommodation. I got exactly what I would have expected - staff who were pleased to be of service and clean comfortable rooms. The evening smorgasbord is great value for money at a meagre 150 Baht.

Swimmingpool for yourself 9most of the times)”
Nice hotel when you want to have a swimmingpool. Sometimes many guests at the hotel and a lot of times very just a few guests. Most of the foreign guests come form France and Belgium. Normally no towels at the swimmingpool. Staff is (this time) very quickly and early with cleaning the rooms (October 2012). In Marz this year it took about the whole day to clean the room. Breakfastbuffet is simple but ok. Free use of computer and internet at lobby. Price hotel and what you get: fits. When you do not want to use a swimmingpool there are cheaper hotels in Phitsanulok to find (500 Baht for 2 persons). A lot of parking space is available (garage). Do not use the showers at the fitness (a very dirty floor).

Comfortable clean room, more staff than guests”
Upon arrival at La Paloma Hotel we thought this was going to be a quite up market hotel, seeing as the huge hotel boasts over 200 rooms. We were greeted with a dimly lit reception area as all the lights had been turned off, fair enough it was quite light outside. Staff were more than helpful about checking in, with no one showing us to our room. There were no lights on in the corridors of the hotel which gave it an eerie ghostly feel to it, as we thought we were the only ones staying the night. Room was more than adequate, complimentary bottled water as well. However, dining in the massive restaurant by ourselves was odd and still felt like no one was in the hotel but us. Meal was take away standard and did not match the price. Free breakfast was OK simple continental one. Even though we were the only guests dining the staff got our order wrong twice, not too impressed. A lot of tiny insects on the table were noticed after our meal making it for a worse experience. Possibly due to it being low season in Thailand, but non the less keeping guests happy is always key.

Reasonable price for ok quality.”
The hotel is a bit far from town. Though taxi service is available now for Phitsanulok. You will need transport for going to favorite tourist spot e.g Wat Yai. This hotel is close to Bhudhashinaraj hospital. If you come for this hospital it's the ideal.

beoned my expadations!”
my room was beautiful. the price was the best part, half of what the other nice hotel was. checking in and out was a wiz. they had my key in an envelope with my name on it when i walked in the door. checking out was just as easy. nice pool but never got a chance to use it because i was busy seeing other sights. only problem was a staff that spoke very little english, and had a problem explaining i had no hot water when i was getting ready to leave they got it fixed. i am already booking a room again for next month.

Old hotel, but good value”
There was doubtless a time when this hotel was at its majestic peak; unfortunately, that was about 1970. In many ways, this is a typical Thai provincial hotel of that era. The hotel is situated in a mostly residential area to the south east of the centre, with few or no local facilities such as restaurants. The rooms are a good size and ours had been pleasantly re-decorated and re-carpeted, though the original dark and somewhat battered furniture had not been replaced as part of a wider refurbishment. The bathroom was adequate with a good "over bath" shower and the original dark marble walls. Both the bedroom and the bathroom were spotlessly clean The lighting in the room was poor and the entire hotel, outside the foyer, appeared very poorly lit. The presence of broken bulbs only exacerbated the situation. The restaurant was not one of the hotel's more notable features. We ate dinner there - having driven from Chiang Mai, we were not minded to explore too far - though the food was unexceptional and the service just about acceptable. The entertainment provided with dinner is best described as "provincial". Breakfast offered a reasonable choice of hot and cold food, though unfortunately nobody thought to light the burners under the "hot" food, with the result that this was tepid or cold. There are better hotels in the city - we stayed at an excellent hotel on our return - but if you are looking for a cheap hotel in which to over night - we paid B700 - this is worth considering.
