Pure bliss”
We booked La Paloma because we wanted to be away from more touristy areas on Phu Quoc! My goodness were we glad we did. The place exceeds the photos - wonderful gardens, rooms and spa. We extended our stay by 5 more nights after our initial booking. Most importantly the staff and owners were wonderful - often letting us try fresh fruit from the garden. After I made a mistake with my initial booking they were incredibly understanding and generous to let us amend the booking - something they were not obligated to do under the terms and conditions of our booking! All in all, a great addition to our honeymoon adventure and we would highly recommend this place!

Nice Hide Away”
The staff at La Paloma were incredibly helpful and nice. I made a last minute decision to go to Phu Quoc and it was the perfect place to relax. Quiet, beautiful gardens, quality food, and a short bike ride to the Ong Lang beaches--which are pretty serene and very nice for swimming, sunning, reading, and watching time slowly slip away. The Bungalows were quaint, but perfect for my basic needs. The outdoor shower was a plus after a day at the beach. I stayed in a fan only bungalow, which was plenty cool throughout the day and especially at night (I was there in early December). If you are really bothered by mosquitos or insects, then you might want to consider an A/C bungalow.

Incredible stay ”
The owners of La Paloma Bungalows are incredibly nice. We had a late night flight (11pm) and they let us stay without charge until we headed to the airport. Moreover, they were so nice and helpful throughout our stay in Phu Quoc. La Paloma is a great model of small family owned business that values customer satisfaction over just economic gain. I highly recommend you to stay at this place.

La Paloma”
There were 4 of us traveling as a group, and we stayed in 2 bungalows.The staff was very helpful and welcoming. They will rent you motorbikes at a reasonable rate, which are the best way to explore the island. The included breakfast is also excellent, and they provided us with takeaway breakfast on the day of our departure even thought we left early in the morning (before normal breakfast hours). The location is OK...the hotel is right off a relatively busy road, and the beach is not really a walkable distance (probably 1/2 hour walking). However, on a motorbike it is ~10 minutes. We actually took motorbikes to a farther away beach that was supposed to be prettier (we didn't check out the nearest beach), but unfortunately the beach we went to suffered from the pervasive trash-on-beach issue that seems to affect many of the beaches around SE Asia. Too bad. We only had 1 sunny beach day (out of 2 days on the island), so we couldn't check out any of the other beaches. The town is a 10-15 minute motorbike ride away from the hotel. There are not many (any?) restaurants within reasonable walking distance, although the hotel has a restaurant. Both bungalows that we stayed in were fan-cooled, with mosquito nets. While the nets function as well as can be expected, if you are concerned about mosquitos/bugs, I would recommend paying a little extra for an air-conditioned bungalow. The toilet and shower are outdoors. While I enjoyed the outdoor shower, the outdoor (semi-secluded) toilet was a little hard to get used to. But, other people may not mind as much. For the price however, this was a really good option. I'm not sure if any of the farther away beaches will be cleaner, as almost all beaches we saw on our trip were littered with trash, and at least the beach we went to was empty of other visitors. Luckily there are other fun things to do on the island besides lie on the beach! I recommend renting a motorbike.

Great place, it isn't close to the tourist streets on phu quoc. But by renting a scooter you can be there in 10 min. Would book again!!

We had a great relaxed time here, the owner (speaks english, well travelled and an architect) and staff are super friendly and went out of their way to make us welcome & help us with things like an amazing river/coast boat trip including cooking crabs and snorkelling on a deserted beach for lunch we did in the far north national park thanks to the owner, the rooms are all new so nice and crisp with a relaxed feel, lovely garden and chill area with bean bags. The location is about 10 -15mins drive north of the town, closer to the peppercorn farms, 5 mins drive to the beach and great exploring all the way up the coast on the dirt roads stopping for random swims, so a motorbike is a must to get around but they rent them at la ploma for about the same prices you find in town. Definitely an out of tourist town and away from all the rush and bustle of people mellow spot. Since its still on one of the main roads tho it's also easy to get north, east, or south pretty fast and directly if you don't feel like following the little red dirt coastal roads. We just went adventuring everywhere tho.

What a beautiful place to stay - Huong was the most helpful lady we have met on our travels!”
This is an beautiful and tranquil place to stay! We stayed (a young couple) as our first location in Vietnam after a busy time travelling Cambodia. It was fantastic for recovering a be chilling out before travelling north through Vietnam. The bungalow as are fantastic; set as jungle bungalow as with outside bathrooms (strange on first sight but really nice). The garden is lovely and made it ideal for relaxing a an planning the next phase of our trip. Breakfast was good and we hired a motorbike from Huong to see the island. I am not too sure where he the location was the best on the island as it was the only place we stayed. It is 40 minutes on a motorbike to the recommended Sao Beach (but we weren't overly impressed with it there any way - very touristy with Vietnamese and Germans). There was a local beach (5 minutes ride) with warm water and we had it all to ourselves. I had never used a moped/scooter before and it was the perfect palace to learn. Huong was amazing; explaining where to go and how to get there. She also helped us plan our trip of Vietnam and gave good advice in good English. More impressively, she took me out on the motorbike to teach me to ride it and we were extremely grateful. They were happy to arrange transferred to ten airport so might be worth contacting before arrival to avoid being over charged. This was a really trustworthy place to stay.

Under Renovation”
I showed up only to discover a locked gate. Eventually someone showed up, speaking no English.My taxi driver then took me to Coco Valley Hotel, which is apparently owned by the same people. Staff at Coco valley were very friendly and helpful, although roosters at rear kept me awake on first night. On the second night transferred to a much quieter room at the front. My star ratings are marked as satisfactory only because I never saw La Paloma Bungalows!

La Paloma has a big potencial, but rooms are not clean enough and staff is lovely but no English”
La Paloma has a big potencial: the garden is really nice and the people working there are lovely, especially the man at the reception (but I think he is overloaded). There is no spa (so why the name should iclude it?).The problems are the following: - room/bathroom/bedsheets are not clean: they are dirty, full of insects especially aints. - the Staff does not speak English at all! Communication is very hard. - our room had a big problem with water:water was leaking on the wall and the tank/tube on the roof was broken so we had lot of water in the bathroom and some water also in our room. The water heatter in the shower was not funcioning and we were afraid to use any electri devices in the room because of the water leaking from the wall. I really hope they will fix it because it is dangerous and very uncomfortable.

Enjoyable place but staff completely disorganised ”
Located just next to the road you can't expect the most quiet place but due to the important vegetation of the place is it a very good place. Do not expect a Spa, there are nothing there. The staff are nice but only one person was speaking english and she wasn't there often... They have been a lots of problem with the booking so make sure to send them a message or call them before you arrive if it is in a busy time of the year! But overall a nice place :)

Nos alojamos en La Paloma bumgalow 4 noches,su personal es maravilloso, los bumgalow muy bonitos y con muchos detalles,cama enorme, mosquitera,baño completo con doble ducha... Los jardines del recinto son preciosos,con lagos,palmeras y todo tipo de plantas muy cuidadas,el desayuno incluido también es bueno, lo único negativo es que la playa más cercana esta a 15min en moto y esta llena de basura , es un problema encontrar playas limpias en Phu Quoc.

L hôtel extérieurement est très joli. Les chambres sont très originales avec une salle de bain en extérieur. Le lit est un peu dur. Dommage que nous ne puissions pas prendre de repas sur place car le cadre s y prête. Petit déjeuner très très léger. Personnel très très gentil mais manquée d expérience : mauvaise chambre attribuée au départ, oubli du petit déjeuner... peut être un peu en dessus de son prix

Vier Tage Inselleben”
Sehr schöne Anlage und Garten. Auch das La Paloma Team ist hervorragend. Die Lage an der Straße ist nicht optimal man bekommt diese immer wieder mit. Das eigene Essen, besonders das Vegetarische bzw. Vegan ist hervorragend. Sehr schön, da es in Vietnam ja nicht gerade einfach ist sowas zu finden. Wir haben die Insel vier Tag mit dem Roller erkundet und sie so ganz gut kennengelernt. Wer nur am Strand liegen möchte, sollte sich einen Bungalow oder eine Anlage suchen die näher am Strand ist. Auf dem Roller lässt sich aber die Insel, auch mit ihren dreckigen und weniger schönen Seiten, erkunden. Phu Quoc ist ein Beispiel dafür, wie der Tourismus in kürzester Zeit ganze Gebiete bzw. Inseln zerstören kann. Jedoch ist der erste Schritt in die richtige Richtung mit dem Nationalpark im Norden getan. Hoffentlich ist es noch nicht zu spät. Als Pauschalurlauber in einem Bungalow, bekommt man diese Seite jedoch überhaupt nicht mit.

Wer sich von den großen Hotelanlagen fern halten will und einen Roller mietet, der ist im Paloma sehr gut aufgehoben. Die Anlage ist sehr schön angelegt mit einem sehr schönen Garten. Gerne wieder! :)

Absolut empfehlenswert für Leute die Ruhe suchen!”
Wir verbrachten dort eine Woche und es war einfach nur fantastisch! Die ganze Anlage ist wunderschön und total ruhig, der Umgang sehr familiär und freundlich. Meiner Meinung nach vor allem geeignet für Paare und Familien. Leider ist der Weg zum Strand etwas lang (ca. 15min zu Fuß, 5min mit dem Roller/Taxi..was ca. 1€ kostet)..lohnt sich dafür allemal, denn am Ong Lang Beach hat man im Gegensatz zum Long Beach noch Platz und Ruhe! Das Restaurant ist auch ganz gut, leider ist die Speisekarte sehr begrenzt und wurde uns schnell zu langweilig. Andere Restaurants sind fußläufig nur schwer zu erreichen, aber mit den günstigen Taxis war das eigentlich nie ein Problem. Das "Sakura" war ziemlich gut und mit dem Taxi ca. 2min entfernt. Ansonsten fährt man ca. 15min in die Stadt. Alles in allem waren wir super zufrieden mit unserem Aufenthalt dort und würden jederzeit wieder kommen!!! We loved it <3
