I stayed in October out of peak season for a low price. I did not have any issues. Really loved the old fashioned feel of this hotel. Room was big and clean, bed was comfortable, the heating worked and the shower was hot. TV worked and enough tea and coffee provided. The young lady at reception was really cheerful and walked me out of the main building to show me the room location. I had read bad reviews elsewhere, but I enjoyed my stay here and would visit again.

I can not fault this place one bit. Always a pleasure staying here. Rooms are nice and spacious, staff go above and beyond for you and it’s in a great location. What more would one want on a break away from anything. Absolutely perfect.

Not far from Bournemouth centre or the beach. Great facilities including a pool and lounging area. The rooms and grounds are a bit dated which didn't bother us in the slightest but I see how it could put some guests off.

Exceptional”
fab location, glorious food both breakfast and evening. Very good evening entertainment. Great option of day trips. Lovely walk through the gardens to town, far enough out for peace and quiet but not too far to walk.

Came down for a funeral. Room was small but immaculate. Old fashioned but all facilities you would need. Staff were lovely. Breakfast was OK, not worth £9 pp in my opinion but saved hassle of finding somewhere else to eat.

What a great find! A lovely, friendly, ‘guest house’ style hotel. I’ve only marked it down slightly as it was very hot and there isn’t a fan in the room which would have been much appreciated. But otherwise I would be delighted to return, hopefully not for work next time!

We went there for last minute weekend stay. Rooms are outdated in decor but clean and spacious. Enough sockets, chairs and storage spaces. Bathroom compact but nice big bath. Room facing street but quiet. Only downside was the smell - Could be due to not able to open window wide enough hence

Within a 10 minute walk to lower gardens. Basic rooms but clean. The bed was comfortable. Small pool on the grounds. Staff were really good and helpful. Breakfast was £9 pp and there was plenty, bringing more toast and coffee upon our request. We would stay here again

Conference Stay”
Was staying for two nights over the weekend for a conference. BIC is 20 minute walk away. Room was basic, but well cleaned. Room was hot, but windows open. Good value for money - only thing stopping better review is the shambles that is parking. Buses, minibuses and white vans everywhere and bays too narrow. On trying to leave, found bus and car blocking exit routes with no drivers in sight.

Traditional hotel but nice to your wallet”
Luckily, we got a very good rate during the stay. The room facilities were minimal and the bed was not comfortable enough, but the hotel has provided table tennis and pool table as well as swimming pool. The location is in the city center and quite closed to beach which will be lovely during summer.

Noisy”
Staff were friendly and hotel was clean but other guests were incredibly noisy. I was kept awake all night with shouting and swearing coming from the room next door in the room below. Plus people smoking, the whole room ended up smelling like cigarettes. A shame as otherwise it would have been fine.

Basic room with some issues, BUT good nights sleep and served it's purpose of somewhere to stay”
This hotel served a purpose, we were out most of the day and evening and just came back to sleep (we also brought our own travel cot). The room had its bad points such as, carpet stains, broken floor tiles in bathroom, bad water shower and toilet pressure, very basic with very minimal extras (1 teeny hand soap, couple of tea bags and that was about it). Plus points, when we stayed it was Quiet Lots of parking Bed was comfy USB plug socket Big family room It served a purpose and we picked it up cheap deal. There is a indoor pool open till 7pm I believe, can't comment on quality or cleanliness etc, but it has a pool!
