Clean and comfy laid back guesthouse with amazing owners and staff”
We had initially booked just 2 days in Malacca at this guesthouse. The place is clean, the breakfast is amazing (best we've had in one month of backpacking around Asia), and Coco, the resident cat (aka The Queen of Malacca), is a very successful entertainer. The main lobby area has a colonial vibe with lots of natural light and places to chill. Plus, it's in walking distance of most of the heritage sites, museums, and main interesting streets of Malacca (e.g. Jonker or Heeren streets). The owners, Harry and Mayu are knowledgeable about sites and costs around Malacca. With a happy and relaxed attitude they made us feel at home, so much so that after the first 2 days we decided to stay there for another 10 days to volunteer around the hostel. Guests were mostly international backpackers, so we hung out, often spending the nights out together. We had a truly amazing experience!

One of the best Hostel I've been in all my trip and Malaysia. They clean every day, the bathroom is always clean and with soap, the rooms are large and comfortable. The places is centric, next to the bus stop that goes to the airport, and the bus that for the central station. Every day they make you a different breakfast, there is coffee, water and you. The owners are very friendly, they help you in everything and they are very attentive! A highly recommended! We took 4 days and we ended up staying almost 2 weeks.

We chose to stay here bcs of the really really affordable price (bcs we're students). Unexpectedly everything was great! The location was near to malls and other attractions. The room was comfortable. The toilets were clean. The interior design was simple yet has that aesthetic vibes. Oh there're cute cats chilling with us at the lounge area. Brilliant hospitality”
Really enjoyed our stay here for 3 nights, the owners were lovely and spent time talking with us if we were in the common area, really relaxed feel to the place, plus their little kitten was so playful. Everywhere was spotless clean, excellent value for money, 5 minute walk to the river. Close to restaurants/shops/big shopping mall. Couldn't recommend highly enough, plus it's got breakfast included.

Very worth and cozy stay in Malacca city center”
Nicely decorated breakfast was served instead of self-service. Its a new effort the staffs are trying to implement in future. We enjoyed the breakfast in their cozy common area, atmosphere is awesome. There are night market at the next street every weekend Friday-Sunday that runs till 1AM. As the rooms are not sound proof, nights can get a bit noisy when the stalls are clearing up. Overall, its very recommended for backpack travelers and younger groups. And I really love their in-house cat that is super pretty and friendly.

My third time to Lavender, and the same as always. Clean, friendly, helpful. If you're sick of all the extra charges in most places, just phone them and they are happy to book and any price they quote is inclusive. I'm staying longer so I can do some online shopping and they're fine with me receiving it there. Very pleasant common areas, good mix of travelers. I would only ever stay at this guesthouse now. The best place in Malaysia.

Your Home Away from Home”
The staffs are really very friendly and accommodating that it feels like home. The bathrooms are shared, but I never had an experience it was on queue for my 5 day stay. Cleanliness in the bathrooms are also maintained and it has hot shower. Attractions are really walking distance. There is also a small night market on Fridays and weekends. Near fast foods, malls, hospitals, and eating places - it is everything you would wish for an accommodation.

Rooms were nice and clean. Breakfast is very simple with coffee, toast and jam but was nice. The staff were so kind and friendly. We even extended our stay because we liked it so much. Location was perfect for us, a short walk to Jonker street and in the other direction a massive shopping mall. We would stay here again.
