Good value, peaceful and comfortable, and good location”
Lovely location nestled back from the road among the trees - most of what you can hear at night is singing frogs and the occasional gecko or bat. The road is a short walk along a path, and it is close to amenities in both directions (bars, roadside food stalls, a scooter rental place, the beach). Aircon and ceiling fan, a good shower, and a comfortable bed: recipe for a good night's stay. Dave (the host) is friendly and helpful: he was able to magic a scooter up for us after we had literally walked all the way from the pier asking at every rental place we stopped at, with no luck - thanks, Dave!

Clean, comfortable room”
Location is just a couple minutes walk from Ao Phai. From the outside, it doesn't look like much, but the room was really clean and comfortable and well-maintained.

Very good”
Decent value for money, close to some of the larger/more touristy beaches. The room was clean, but the towels and sheets were very old. Significant mosquito presence at night, but mosquito coils were available.

Near Tubtim beach”
If you need a quiet place to stay, with not much expectations in luxury. Stayed here before. Not much changed. Location is most important for me. Near the beach. Bed is comfy. Room bit dark and dated but clean. Good wifi. Useless tv, but dont need. Got aircon and fan. Daily water. Ask for towels and you get it. Perfect for daily island beach life. And good nights sleep!

Very basic”
Very basic hotel. Location was good only a couple of minutes to the beach. Staff were friendly. The room itself was clean apart from the window which was very dirty. If you stay there you need to get mosquito coils and a room spray as it was full of them. No good for families as the hotel has no amenities. It is more ideally suited to backpacker travelers.

Good location ”
Lost is a short walk to the beach and restaurants. It’s not a resort. It is more of a 1950’s motel. WiFi is good. Refrigerator in the room. The owner David is British and being able to ask questions in English was a plus. It’s not even a bad walk to the downtown area. The beach is beautiful. We liked the fruit vendor who sells delicious fruit along the beaches.

Location ”
Great staff , very helpful, good location, slightly away from loud music but easy walking distance to beach/ music etc , you’ll need a bike anyhow to explore island, and the location of lost resort is ideal , bit expensive compared to other islands we visited, but in general Koh Samet is expensive so you kinda get what you get, would recommend, we booked 4 nights with a view to moving on but stayed extra 3 nights .

Lost from the crowds, but not far from the beach!”
I had a great time. I have stayed at Lost Resort many times during fall and spring seasons. The last stay was during a concert at the other end of the beach. Lost Resort was quiet, yet walking to the concert was not unreasonable. I have also found that I can walk through the Pavilion resort to the Lost Resort in a few minutes.

cheaper, but still handy to the beach”
A 3 or 4 minute walk up a slight hill from Ao Phai beach. Clean basic facilities at a value for money price. Quiet. Over 3 nights we barely saw other guests or staff. Our room was serviced while we were on the beach. Great eating options at the beach or a short walk in either direction. A big gay friendly night club nearby and other options for straits. Tip: if you are a big drinker load up at Ban Phe before coming over to the island.

Clean, Basic, Honest”
the lost resort is not a resort, but a good clean very reasonably priced accommodation for the budget traveller. rooms are fitted with a/c tv, fan and a basic shower, toilet, handbasin.. all you really need. situated about 100m or so away from the beach in a tree filled garden, the beaches and restaurants are very easily accessed and provide all the delicious food and beverage you could want. we normally stay in a 3,4,5 star proerties, bu i chose his property to accommodate my partners love of the bush setting.i reccommend this budget hotel to travellers on a budget or for people that want clean basic accommodation at a very affordable price.

Basic but good value”
lost resort is a tiny property tucked away in the trees on the beautiful island of koh samet. since it's surrounded by trees, you will have more than a few mosquito visitors at night. the staff does their best to combat this with mosquito coils and screens on the windows. we didn't get any bugging us in our room but i'm sure if we hung outside for 10 mins, we would have been eaten! the rooms are pretty basic, a little dated but they serve their purpose. tv has mostly all thai channels so if you're bored late at night, you'll be up to date on all your thai music! nice for a short stay, good for the budget conscious traveler.

Quiet Hotel, Clean, Good Value”
I wanted a quiet, cheap and clean hotel. Lost Resort satisfied those requirements. The only hiccup was the check in process. Apparently the normal hotel owner was traveling, so I was instead greeted by someone that spoke no English, and was eaten alive by mosquito as I tried to retrieve my record locator, since my passport was not sufficient for some reason. Later the owner managed to get in touch with me by phone, and welcome me, which was a nice touch, and made me get past the mosquito bites. This place is about a three or four minute walk from the beach, which is far enough away to get away from the bar noise, but still very convenient. The room is nothing special. It's clean, and simple. There is no safe for your belongings, but I didn't feel security was an issue. The bed was quite comfortable. Arrival tip: Take the speedboat directly to Koh Ai Beach for 250b/person. The slow ferry is 200b+(50 to 200b taxi to the hotel)/person, so it's a no-brainer. On the way back to the land, the slow boat is only 50B,so it's better if you're on a budget. Make sure the person selling you the ticket actually hands you the paper ticket. Mine conveniently forgot, and had I not reminded him, I probably would have had to buy another ticket, when they were collected on the boat. One last tip: Remember your mosquito repellent! Since this hotel is in the woods, there are far more mosquitos here than on the beach itself, especially at night.

Near the beach, Koh Samet is great”
Lost resort was one of the only places with rooms available as we were in koh samet just after new year. We were a little worried it wouldn't be that great but we shouldn't have been. It's very close to the beach, which is beautiful, although not overlooking it. It was clean and comfortable and served us very well for the money. As all over koh samet, there are mosquitoes around the place in the morning and evening, but the room screens protected us well and we didn't get any inside. Thanks

On par with the alternatives”
It was alright, staff was friendly and room was mostly clean. When booking I was under the impression it was closer to the sea and nightlife. The hotel has arguably the worst location for that in Ao Phai. It also doesn't feel like a 3-star hotel, the rooms are very basic. Even though I enjoyed it overall, I feel there are other places in the area of the same standard cheaper and closer to the sea.

I had a decent stay there.”
The hotel is fine for what we pay for. The owner is from England, so it was easier to get anything you need. The location is great, only 5 mins walk. You wanna find a hotel that is not right on a beach because the restaurant and bars open till at least 10 pm or later, especially they have full moon and half moon party .. You won't be able to sleep till 3am if you stay right on the beach. The hotel doesn't have much facilities, but I mean the cleanliness is good .. The air conditional was nice .. Mosquitos everywhere .. So make sure you bring your spy .. Internet is good but my room didn't have good connection too far from the signal but as soon as I am out the room I get signal . Not too bad
