Great Hotel, Great Location, Great Staff, Great Va”

service, location, staff

I've stayed several times in Hoi An during my visits to VIetnam. But this time my regular hotel was undergoing renovation so I picked the Hoi An Lotus Hotel after viewing it online and we booked this hotel at very short notice and got a great discount on the room (42%). Location of hotel is about half way between the beach and the old town, there is a free shuttle to both at various hours during the day. What a wonderful place to relax and feel at home. What really makes this place is the staff, they are very friendly and professional. The hotel was clean and quiet, the room was well kept and well serviced, the pool was clean and attended to at all times & open until late, the breakfasts were excellent and the staff were very friendly. We ate in the hotel one evening, and yes more expensive than in town or nearby, but quality was good, the spa was good too. We had a week in Hoi An and Hoian Lotus Hotel was the perfect place to stay and one of the best we had in Vietnam, the staff were extremely helpful. We would definitely return.

Do you want to feel at home while on vacay?”

We are a family with two young children and we stayed at Lotus Hoi An for a week during the easter break! Needless to say that we will definitely come back as the staff is beyond AMAZING!!! They were very careful with us, always making sure we have what we need and helpful, and important information in Vietnam ( you don't get this even in 4, 5 star hotels!) they all had a SMILE on their face and a sincere (not just touristy!). Our children, aged 5 years old and 14 months were very happy and so were we; we would definitely come back and miss the staff dearly already! However we had some problems with agoda (unfortunately thus will no longer use this service) but the Hotel made it up and found for us a solution, again big heads up to the staff!

Location, Room, Foods

I just sum this hotel in just a few words: beautiful views, fabulous staff, nice pool. A wonderful location with free shuttle bus, free bicycles, free internet access, free welcome drink. It's really easy for you to go to the old town and to the beach too ( so-called private beach) The buffet breakfast is fresh and plentiful each morning, serving a variety of food to suit any international tastes Every staff member we encountered was very friendly and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. I had a wonderful room that had a balcony opening up to pool view, So lovely! The room was quite spacious, clean & confortable. Lastly, whether you are traveling as a family or as a couple, this property is first-class and worth the investment. I would absolutely stay here again if we get back to Hoi An Ancient Town! Hope this review helps another first-time visitor to Hoi An like us!

Good value Hoi An accommodation”

The pool area, good quality free bikes to borrow and shuttle bus

I enjoyed my stay at the Lotus Hoi An Hotel and spent 5 nights there. It is in between the Beach and Old Town and the hotel offers a shuttle bus service. However, if you want to be right near the Old Town and restaurants, this may not be the best choice for you. I had spent three nights closer to town before this so had done my early morning/late night walking around the Old Town. I really enjoyed having the two balconies and the pool area to relax in. The service and breakfast were also excellent.

BREAKFAST, Pool, Service

Me and my partner stay'd at this hotel for 4 nights and enjoyed every bit of it, it is quite a large hotel but very well set out and very relaxing. Location is quite good, only a small (free) bicycle ride to old town one way and the beach the other, overall very happy with Lotus Hoi An.

Great Hoi An Stay”

If you are staying in Hoi An I highly recommend staying at this hotel-I promise you won't be disappointed. Our only wish was that we had been able to stay longer. We booked a two double bed room which was furnished nicely and the bathroom had plenty of amenities. There was a lovely pool with service available. We spent most of our time at the beach or in town. There is a great hotel shuttle available that we put to good use. Also, we utilized the free bike rentals and rode into town. I highly recommend using the bikes if you get the chance. The staff, especially the bartenders were extremely friendly and always offered to assist with any of our needs. One night my husband wanted to play pool and the bartender overheard and offered to join him in a game. The free breakfast was included with our stay and it was unbelievably delicious and offered plenty of choices.

LOTUS HOTEL”

The hotel is landscaped beautifully. The room was larger than I expected. THE STAFF was very attentive and did a wonderful job.
The pool needed some attention, not very clean but was acceptable.

The hotel is located about halfway between the beach and the City center, so it was convenient for us. We rented bikes one day from the place next door for about $1.00usd a day. We were able to ride to both the beach and and city center, so they are pretty close. The breakfast was pretty good, but a little redundant. (STAYED 6 night) There is a wonderful little restaurant next door to the hotel called 386 restaurant i think. The food was great, Authentic and inexpensive. If i returned to HOI AN i would stay in this hotel again.

Lovekly Hotel, well appointed”

Swinning Pool was good although it was raining and we did not get any use of it, it would be good in the summer. The breakfast was good and the pep0le at reception very friendly and with good advice. Next time we shall go and see Xuan sing at the bar across the river
A littler bit out of town however a taxi for was not exorbitant and the comfortability made up for it.

Very nice Hotel and a gr8 place to go even though it rains a lot in the winter. It is not cold but the Streets of Hoi An do get flooded sometimes. Thongs are a good idea if not mandatory. The suits will cost you and tye womens clothes are very reasonable and made to measure. We found Blue Eye quite good and reasonable, the are in the street past the bus station to the left about 80 meteres, across from Yali. If you want shoes they will take you across the road for made to measure shoes also. Tell them Pappa and Momma sent you and you will get a discount, they promised, the will live up to their promise. Cooking class at Red Bridge was excellent and the town tour whih includes 5 or 6 sites was worth it, although we did take an english speaking guide for a few extra dollars and we thought that this was well worth the additional expense. In summer the hotel is 1.5 klms from the beach so it would be ideal in the summer months. Enjoy, we did.

A cute and quirky hotel with lovely staff”

Cooking class with Executive Chef Vuong The Dung, friendly and helpful staff, beautiful pool (but like a warm bath in the extreme summer heat).

Our first impression of this pretty hotel was very favourable and for the most part our stay lived up to expectations. The reception area is welcoming and the complimentary drink on arrival is delicious. It is also very convenient to exchange money here and not worry about being ripped off. As there were 3 in our party we booked a deluxe room with garden/pool view, and paid for an extra bed. The room we were given was on the side of the hotel on the third level, with three single beds, a small bathroom (no bath), and no view apart from a tiny unusable balcony that overlooked an overgrown paddock containing some free range chooks. We would have upgraded to a family room but were told none were available. Unfortunately our air conditioner was faulty which was a disaster as temperatures were in the 30s overnight, but this was fixed the next day. The breakfast was great, with a good selection of hot and cold items, but the dining room is very stuffy - more fans or airconditioning would help in the heat. The shuttle bus service to the town and the beach was useful. We didn't use the bikes as it was so hot at this time of year. The pool area is really nice and we enjoyed happy hour cocktails, but it did feel like swimming in a warm bath, unfortunately. Our highlight was doing the cooking class, with Exectutive Chef, Vuong The Dung. We were able to choose from a variety of dishes which all sounded delicious, and as we did an afternoon class we cooked our own dinner at a very reasonable price. It was fun cooking outside and then eating at an outside table in the cooler evening breeze. The chef is very patient and talented, and also showed us how to create some amazing garnishes to decorate the plates. All in all we had a lovely stay at a friendly hotel that caters to families, couples and groups of people from many different countries. We'll definitely be back - but maybe at a cooler time of year 😊

Comfortable stay”

Staff, comfortable surrounds, free wifi, buffet breakfast
Gym equipment old and rusty.

After an unpleasant experience with a rude taxi driver in getting to the hotel, I was relieved to find that the hotel had a sanctuary feel about it. Staff were very polite and knowledgable, the hotel was clean and had a nice charm to it. The free bus shuttle to the beach and hoi an ancient town was very handy as it was a bit of a hike to get to either. Bicycle rental highly recommended. The buffet breakfast had a good range of western and local, impressive for a 3 star hotel! Only negative was the somewhat disused gym. Equipment not very sturdy, and way too old. Should either replace with new or remove altogether. Would consider staying here again.

Really friendly staff, Nice hotel looks amazing and has all the facilities you could ask for. Good Location
The beds are pretty hard not that easy to sleep on for a westener.

It was A great Location, right in between the the beach and the centre of Hoi An. I would stay here again for sure. The beach in Hoi An is one of if not the best in Vietnam! All the room had a really big balcony and grrat views of the gardens around. The pool was really nice but we hardly used it because the beach is so close.

Great little resort like hotel half way between beach and old town Hoi An. Staff lovely, and facilities great. Perfect if you're skiing for thr beach as well as town.

Lotus in Hoi an ”

Loved the pool-we used it multiple times a day! Staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is a little outside the market area but has shops, bike rentals around it. The food in Lotus is very good we had a few dinners we enjoyed very much - eggplant clay pot!!

Every part of this hotel was excellent from the first greeting to last goodbye.”

Over 7 days there was a group of family and friends staying .(approx 30 people)Every aspect of this hotel is excellent From the Friendliness of all staff to the Resturant /Bar/Cafe..Nothing short of amazing how staff were always their to provide you with everything you needed .Whether it was just towels /drinks and snacks by the pool or directions in to town .Rooms were big and spacious .Cleaned every day.Highly recommend cooking classes and Sunday night buffet.Perfect for family with kids or just a couple or a group.Price including buffet breakfast is excellent value. We left there with the feeling we have made friends for life.I would highly recommend this hotel.

Too far from where you want to be”

Good local design with extraordinary garden
too far from town and the shuttle bus is mostly not available when wanted

We waited too long to do the reservation and when we did, most hotels with good ratings were full, they are mostly small places. We arrived on a Sunday, and the desk staff was clearly the emergency crew. The regular crew turned out to be better and more helpful. The best of this hotel is the little restaurant next door (to the left when exiting the hotel)Meeting the owner, Ha, and eating there was the highlight of our stay, besides visiting Hoi An which is quite marvelous.

You get what you pay for”

For the budget conscious traveller

The lotus hotel in Hoi An is a typical example of a "you get what you pay for" scenario. It's cheap. It's not promising luxury. And it doesn't give it to you. The good: Its design and decor aren't bad. It has a good pool. I had a nice view with two balconies so that was good. Unfortunately the good stopped there for me. The not so good: Above all, the location was pretty awful. A long way from anything, you either needed taxis, scooters/bikes into town or to the beach. The hotel shuttle dropped you at a fairly poor area of town for sightseeing too. It was a solid 40-45 minute walk, 10-15min cycle, or maybe 5 minute taxi ride (~d45.000). Tours didn't like picking you up from the lotus. Front desk staff - one girl in particular was rude and pushy and kept trying to convert my foreign cash into VND at hotel rates. The others were fine. The bed was a fairly hard (I like a firm bed) piece of foam only. No inner spring mattress here. My hot water service died randomly one night and required fixing. The bathtub was ancient and had cracks all around it. It felt like it was going to dislodge when you stepped in/out. The room, even with everything shut didn't seal against the outside world. This meant that if you had a light on at night, mosquitos and other creepy crawlies found their way in. I had to put an item of furniture outside as it got some bug in it that made heaps of noise one night. The restaurant was ordinary (I only ate breakfast there, never saw anyone eat other meals there), though the staff were friendly. I've highlighted the bad, but I wanted to say, I didn't hate the place. It was decent for the money . Would I stay there again? No. Would I recommend it? Not really, not above other options closer to town, even if they come at a bit of a price premium. Was I satisfied? Given my time again, I'd pick something else to try out... 3 star hotel at 3 star pricing, with 3 star amenities.
