Acceptable”
I would not recommend this hotel. We had to move to another hotel because of our room conditions. However the staff refunded our money for 2 nights.

okay hotel, nice pool, friendly service”
i've stayed in the maeyom palace before. it's a decent hotel for provincial thailand. it is in need of a face lift, especially in the guest rooms. the pool is a nice area to hang out. it's no southern thailand type of atmosphere, but it's still nice. also, it's right across the street from the phrae bus station, which is convenient. also, there are a few good restaurants and bars there by the bus station. i would stay here again. not only because it's a decent place to stay for your money, but also because it's phrae and there aren't many other options to stay in phrae.

Comfortable Hotel & Staffmost helpful ”
phrae is not on the "must visit" list of many tourists. proletarien fashion made the town somewhat famous for indigo coloured cotton shirts, originally worn by farmers, but later worn by many city workers and then by university students and politicians hoping to demonstrate solidarity with the working class. we enjoyed the spectacular antique furniture of the loby, the comforts of the room and excellent breakfast. there was a great pool and good parking. the staff were able to recommend good restaurants for dinner. we recommend the town and the hotel for a short stay when on a long journey.

good hotel for a short visit to Phrae”
We chose this hotel because it was within walking distance to the Bus Station. Phrae is renown for its old teak buildings and temple of significance. We were able to wander the immediate area of the hotel looking at the architecture and parks and gardens. The room we stayed in was comfortable, air con worked well. Shower was hot and there was a huge swimming pool. There is a very large restaurant with an enormous deck in the front that served excellent food at reasonable prices. Although the hotel is a bit dated it was perfect for our purposes.

Very well located, right in the center of Phrae”
The location is pretty close to Phrae Bus Station, so it makes things easily. The facilities are pretty clean, and the beds are pretty spacious. The only bust is the building being quite old. There is also a small and slow elevator so if hurry, it might be tough. Staffs are helpful and could give you some basic directions.

The Only Hotel To Stay In In Phrae”
we stayed here two nights while my wife's family gathered in a nearby village after the passing of one of their elders. we didn't spend much time in the hotel, but we wouldn't have minded if we did. it is old, and with its age it brings some old-fashioned values of a quality hotel. the rooms are large. the beds are comfortable. the bathtub is large. the buffet breakfast is tasty. the staff is helpful and friendly. the internet works well. we did not use the swimming pool, but we saw that it was well-maintained. the only two cons are 1) the price of the items in the minibar are ridiculous, especially when you can go right outside and get those same drinks for one-third the price. 2) there is not much choice on tv for english speakers.

Nice and quiet hotel with good service”
Simple lodging at a quiet hotel in a simple town. The best hotel in Phrae, Thailand. Easy access to the town and is at the centre of Phrae. I enjoyed my stay there and the food at the restaurant. The service is quite good.

OK choice for Phrae”
Stayed one night, arrived late, left first thing, for the price ($30) you can get much better value in Bangkok, so perhaps a bit overpriced for Phrae but the choice here is limited. It's a large hotel, from a bygone decade, but the rooms were comfortable, sizeable and the staff OK. Ate at the hotel restaurant which was OK. There's a nice pool area, as far as I could see, though didn't use it. It's fairly central.

hotel for Phrae marathon”
This hotel was just fine for an overnight stay to run the Phrae marathon. Close to Pizza Company for dinner the night before running, decent breakfast for post-race refueling. The staff were efficient in helping us add an extra bed for a last minute addition to our room.

Old and in need of redecoration”
Well it's 6 years since we last visited the Mayom Palace and we won't be in a hurry to go back. We had to wait 1 hour and 20 minutes before our food arrived in the restaurant, the staff did warn us that there was a party in the hotel and they had first call on the kitchen, but this was unacceptable. The room we had was in need of redecoration, everything worked but you got the impression it wouldn't work for much longer. Breakfast was very good, great selection and the staff couldn't have been better.

Very Near Bus Station; Staff understands English”
Hotel is located near bus station and restaurants. Staff do understand English. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. WIFI works. Unfortunately no massage facility onsite or nearby. Breakfast was sumptuous. Restaurant menu was good but service was a tad slow. Ordered four simple Thai items and it took a very long time before we got fed.

One night stay in Phrae to visit Thung Hong”
We enjoyed our one night stay and had a really good night's sleep due to efficient, quiet air conditioning and comfy beds. Decor was a little "tired" and could probably do with refurbishment but, for the price we paid, we were happy. In two weeks of travelling around Thailand, it was one of only two hotels where the staff wore polo shirts. What a pity compared to those beautiful traditional Thai outfits of a long skirt and well fitted blouse! Couldn't understand why we couldn't find a bar to buy a drink!

Great Scott, Marty! It’s the Maeyom Palace Hotel!”
Thailand is filled with beautiful old architectural relics from ancient times, but how often do you come across one you’re actually welcome to stay in? This hotel is like a time capsule from the 1980s...cavernous, dark, wood-paneled lobby, 80s-style rooms with huge brick-like TVs with screens as small as my iPad’s, an old elevator that smells like grease. Fortunately they haven’t done too much to modernize the place and kill the old-school ambience. The bathrooms appear to have been retiled and modern AC units have been installed. There’s a great swimming pool and a decent breakfast, provided you can tear the staff away from their morning soap operas long enough to whip you up some eggs. The front desk staff is friendly enough, even if they don’t speak very much English. The hotel is a little far from the center of things, but convenient to the bus station. Overall, though, the place is a heckuva deal. So what are you waiting for, get your DeLorean up to 88 mph and come for a stay!
