Best beach in koh samet”
I know the title looks exaggerated despite that I will say that Malibu resort has the best beach in Ko samet. The private beach is isolated and not full of travellers. You can enjoy your drinks and a meal at peace here. We had a one year old boy with us and he enjoyed a lot there. We will be definitely visiting again. The staff is Courteous as well. They don’t speak English as much but still they will cater to your needs. The breakfast spread is generous and everyone will like it. Limited food for vegetarians though.

Ight at the beach”
The resort is right at the beach, good breakfast and food choices from the menu. You can also buy the speed boat ticket from them to take you to the mainland. Staff was nice and helpful. We will come back.

We liked our stay at Malibu. Great location and good service. Breakfast was good except the coffee was gross. If you're traveling light, rent a scooter to get around the island. Don't bring or rent a bike unless you need a hill climbing workout. Go on the 6 island tour and snorkel with the fish.

Ok room + nice breakfast”
+ breakfast with enough options, would recommend getting if you want easy morning. there is the basic western options along with warm thai food + environment is green and gardeny + clean bathroom + right by the beach with chairs and sunbeds + nice restaurant right on the beach - I would especially recommend the Seahorse restaurant next door - biggest negative: room smelt weird, hard to get fresh air - the hotel should ban people from reserving the sunbeds early... saw people going out for long times and leaving their stuff on the chairs Park your motorbike by the taxis.

Prons- best location on the beach. Grocery shop just next to it. New\renovated rooms are good. Egg station at breakfast. Beach restaurants with seafood near by. Cons - old rooms are awful. I hope they will renovate all of them. We were given an old moldy room, but after complaining we were moved to a new one. Very limited offer of western food for breakfast. Toast, jam, sausage and ham. Nothing else. I was eating eggs every day.

Tired”
Place is somewhat tired needs updating many facilities look broken or closed. Too much mess everywhere (there were loads of staff around you could probably make it look a lot more appealing with a few days work and thought). I asked for a fan as was unwell and did not want to use air con and they could not even supply one. Mould in bathroom and nothing deluxe about the room. Wood was chipping away from fixtures I understand its by the sea but needs updating urgently or it will be left behind by competitors. Food for thought!

Rooms are not like as shown in photos. Everything was very old and there was musty smell in the room. Water from shower head was not strong.. it was frustrating to take shower.

I asked by email and by phone if thee is a transfer boat from resort availible . No email answr and the phone call says there is no boat so we booked a speedboat and paid much higher costs for it. after that experiances we will not come back anymore and choose another resort.

Booked online for 4 nights and in a weird way our emergency saved us from a very miserable stay. Had to leave after only 1 night to go back to the mainland because of an emergency. They didn't refund us for this but that's neither here nor there. 1. Breakfast included but impossible to eat as the restaurant is full of mosquitoes and animal feces on the floor which do not seem to get cleaned up. 2. The location is not ideal but should of checked this myself more but theres probably a handful of restaurants in the area if you want to go enjoy the fire show or some bars or anything really you have to rent a motorbike or get the songtaew. 3. Room not awful but not particularly clean and the paint is peeling off the walls. 4. The resort actually has a pool which I I didn't see advertised when booking which I think is for good reason as it's green and uninviting. 5. On arrival no help with the bags or anything, I think the staff are little uninterested as the resort just seems so run down.

Malibu Garden Inn is in a great location, food was good, other restaurants nearby. Transportation right from the dock to Ban Pho Staff were very helpful and friendly

high season at this resort and they decided to do maintaince of the pool and trees at this time (Not so smart). Staff were very freindly but mangmant seeemed to be clueless. A beach resort with no where to sit on the beach only resort to have this i nthis location, sister hotel next door but would charge you extra to sit there. Seemed only to cater for large groups of chinesse tourists not individuals. Food was poor and sea food not fresh, but pizza was quite good.

Room not the same with picture. They just 1 star hotel actually (How they get 3 star ? It’s not true). Reception staff, they don’t have service mind, speak badly. TV don’t have signal, air conditioner too loud and water heater not working. When tell reception staff, they did not do anything. Never go back to stay again.

The place needs a renovation and some care. It looked really abandoned and the rooms had a strong paint smell. Too many mosquitoes in the outside areas due to lack of maintenance. Checked another room, unfortunately was still smelly and dark. We ended up booking a different hotel. The staff was friendly and understanding.
