We stayed at Minh Viet for a couple of nights to explore the Mekong Delta area of Can Tho. We chose a homestay that is pretty much in the middle of nowhere in purpose. We did the Floating Markets Tour with the homestay: we started at 4am and enjoyed the quite and peaceful rivercruise in a small boat it was only the two of us, the guy from the homestay and the lady driving the boat. The floating market in Cai Rang was still closed and it's interesting to see the difference when you get back there later and everybody is busy and heaps of boats full of Tourists. We went to a small floating market first and had breakfast then we went back to Cai Rang had Pineapple on the floating market there and then went to see a "rice paper factory" which is not a factory anymore but only to show tourists how rice noddles are being produced. One could skip that. It was 50$ that incl. everything on the tour we didn't buy anything extra. Recommended: take a bicycle and explore the area. It's worth it!

The perfect way to see the Mekong Delta”
We loved our stay at Minh Viet. The food was excellent and the Homestay was very relaxing. There were a couple of mix ups with our room booking and tour but Minh made sure we did everything we wanted and more.

Great homestay in a beautiful neighborhood ”
We loved it here! The food was amazing, we had it all- breakfast lunch and dinner here. We enjoyed relaxing in the hammocks by the river. Staff was good, but the ladies that work here speak no English and only one guy does. We joined him for a tour to the floating markets (20$ per person) and we highly recommend it (much more personal and closer to everything in a small group rather than 30 people on the big tourist boats). We got to borrow bikes (with no extra charge) to check out the surrounding village and Can Tho city. Downsides: The internet was not great here- very unstable, the room is not the most soundproof (so bring earplugs) and if you are afraid of bats and other wildlife then this is not the room for you ;) (we had the 2 person double room). All in all, great stay and we would definitely come again!

Minh Viet homestay is a family owned business and their hospitality ensured our enjoyed stay”
Pros include a beautiful setting, local cooked meals from fresh ingredients and getting to book a private boat tour to the floating market from Minh's own experience and perspective. Cons include a bit noisy in the mornings from nearby roosters and traffic coming from the canal as our room faced outwards. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and were glad to have seen Can Tho from this rural setting.

Authentic life on the mighty Mekong ”
Fantastic!! We loved it and highly recommend it to anyone who wants a real glimpse into rural Vietnamese life. Minh and his family offered more than we could have asked for. Wonderful experience of all of the sights and sounds of the river

Village life in the Mekong”
Minh, the owner, was very helpful even before we arrived and replied to our emails quickly. He arranged a pickup from the bus station (for 60.000 VND, Motorbike taxi). Minus: he wanted to sell us a day trip tour for 60 USD (around 1.3 million VND), but we wanted to rent our own motorbike and explore on our own. He tried to convince us not to (too dangerous, etc), but we later found out that he had offered other guests, who had booked a tour with him, to rent them out his motorbike. Also, He offered them a different, cheaper tour. So, a bit of confusion there. ;) The dinner is cooked by Minh's mother, and it is absolutely delicious. Total vale for money. Rooms: there are 7 rooms, which one you get depends on availability rather then booking choice from what I've heard. We got one with very comfortable, large beds, with mosquito nets which we definetly needed (bring bug spray!). Nice rural atmosphere, you sleep directly under the reet roof, so it's more of a hut than a room. Absurdly, since this is a rather remote village, this was the noisiest place we stayed in during our trip. Since the walls are so thin, and the house it built directly on the road, you hear evey motorbike passing, lots of roosters start crowing around 3am, music from village neighbors, etc. The village is very charming, nice little market with fair prices.

Warm hospitality”
My stay at Minh's homestay was very good indeed . Other than the mix up about room rate , my stay was very pleasant . I think there should be more clarity about the type of room on the booking page. Seems to me ,it is more t a number of persons, kind of booking and not the type of room. This seemed unclear when booking and a chose the double room option thinking it was a larger, better room. That room by default has a 2 person payment . Please take care that there is no room for this kind of error.Of course Agoda has been kind enough to pay heed to my concern .And if I am not mistaken has refunded me for 1 person stay, but it took a lot of emails, and effort. Highlights of the stay. sumptuous dinners..Wonderful ! The rooms are pretty basic.. no luxury here, but when charged with the price per person with breakfast and dinner , great value I would say. Stay here !

Homestay”
My stay at the home stay will always be remembered for the location , the magnificent food served each evening , tea and bananas served to me when I arose early and a good breakfast to follow. The room was clean and the shower water was OK considering there is no hot water. The optional boat trip to the floating market is good value as you see things and taste things that the tourist boats do not do

Genuine local home hospitality”
We found this place and the people to be a unique experience of life in the Mekong Delta. The home stay is simple but magical. We feel privileged that the family shared their local knowledge with our family and went out of their way to meet all our needs. I wish them all the best in their tourist venture.
