Best beach and great resort”
The resort is very well organized and also the restaurant serves is surprisingly good when it comes to Thai food (not a given in many island resorts in Thailand). They have pick up and drop off speed boat from the pier, which is nice. The beach is great and clean. Unfortunately they allow noisy speed boats to literally park on the beach and drop off noisy tourists from other parts of the islands for a dip. It ruins the quiet atmosphere but it happens only twice a day or so. All in all, a wonderful stay

Nice Stay”
A cozy resort with a very nice bedroom & outdoor bathroom. Had a pleasant time here with my husband and 1 yr old child. The only downfall is that the sand on the beach is full of tiny rocks & shells otherwise it would have been perfect!

A great place to come back”
Far away from the hustle bustle Bangkok and perfect location on the other side of the beach, away from the party. Though the party area was harmless with majority of families only. This is the second time in my 4 years of visit and nothing as such changed. A perfect spot to eat, drink and chill at beach. We took a local scooter and drove around to the remote locations which was quite scenic and adventurous. Will definitely come back and stay here.

Great Island Getaway ”
The complex was well laid out, with a nice pool and beach seating areas. The restaurant served excellent meals- in my opinion, the food quality was the best on Ko Samet Island.

Staffs are nice. The room was clean and big enough. The view was amazing when the sun rising.

Private Location”
The last resort on the beach or the northern stretch of sand on Koh Samet. Private bungalow with beach front access. The restaurant was good but be sure to rent a motor bike as there is limited access to the main town.

Nice and clean beach & room”
Really loved the room, which wasn't huge but still comfortable. Pool was useless. They should replace the surrounding blanks because it looks old and cheap. Luckily beach was right next to it and spent time there instead of the pool. Good food and really nice staff. Recommended calm getaway for couples!

Beautiful hotel with private beach”
The hotel itself is beautiful and surroundings by natural. Clear sea, fluffy sand, clean beach. Breakfast is limited as a la carte. Room is clean and spacious but the outdoor shower is terrible - hot water was not working, drainage was stuck, and outdoor was dirty. Staff was not informed anything about facilities and else, you gotta ask them. Hotel provides canoes and boat for guest too. Food is great but pricey. Ferry from/to pier is available for hotel guest which is very convenient!

Cute room but a bit far from town”
The bungalows are cue but you have to take a bumpy ride to the location. If the beaches were stunning I'd say go for it but this side of the island got a bit choppy. We opted for Ao Prao beach instead

Great place but shitty service! Avoid!”
Location, amenities and rooms are one thing but service helps complete your holiday. The staff lack enthusiasm and service mind! They don’t smile, like they don’t want to be here. Upon my arrival, I overheard the staff complained about more customers checking in which is bizarre! Our last day, a female staff tried to rush us out the room before checking out time! She had an audacity to knock on our door and was giving us a look when we left the room! I would suggest hotel management to look into hiring/ training staff! Until then they are cheaper, nicer and better service resorts down the road. Avoid at all costs if you want to have a pleasant getaway!

Room Wi-fi non existent”
Loved the remoteness and a great bar/restaurant. But room Wi-fi was non existent. Was just told to ‘reset’ whenever we asked, it just didn’t come up at all in the room. For the price expected the showers to work, and the room to be pristine but stained sheets and bit rundown/worn out everything, in the garden view rooms. But absolutely lovely and tranquil garden, it’s remote and quiet, making it a perfect 1-2 day destination. With in an incredible beach! Staff is great.

Poor experience ”
The room we had was feasibly clean, That being said the warm water in the shower was almost nonexistent We had booked a sea view toon with a large bed, which we got. However, the large bed was two worn out single mattresses pushed together on an elevated floor resulting in poor sleep

A different side to Samed”
Mooban Talay is not the usual place we stay when visiting Koh Samed. We usually go to the busier beaches further south, but had family visiting so decided to spend a little bit more to get a more relaxing atmosphere. Mooban Talay were very helpful with the free boat transfer and very welcoming upon arrival. The rooms are in a really amazing setting, we had booked the cheaper rooms without sea view, but the set up is so nice that the garden rooms are just as good. The rooms were quirky with a bed platform and open rain shower, but could do with a bit of paint as they are beginning to get a little bit musty. The food in the restaurant is a little bit pricey, but is similar to that of all the more expensive places on Samed. There are a range of other resorts within walking distance where the food may or may not be cheaper. We hired scooters and went down to the cheaper end of the island for our second night of our 2 night stay, it is about a 10-15 minute ride to the busier touristy areas. All in all it was exactly what we needed it to be, quiet, relaxing and away from the crowds without being too isolated.

Divine -- the perfect place to end our trip”
We were completing a 50-day tour of Southeast Asia and wanted a nice, quiet place to relax and rest before returning home to the U.S. Mooban Talay Resort couldn't have been more perfect. It's away from town and noisy nightlife; has a gorgeous beach and gentle, warm water; the food and service were excellent in a lovely setting; and our bungalow was charming and comfortable. Our three nights at Mooban were truly divine!

Tranquil, Peaceful, Beautiful!”
We were returning to MooBan Talay as we liked it so much the last time. It is a tranquil resort, where you go to relax, the accomadation is beach bungalows, well fitted out with all the basics you need. It is the furthest north resort on the island, has its own beach, clear water. The food is really good here, but we tended to go out most noights down to the main beach where there are many restaurants and bars on the beach. The island is also well worth exploring if you hire a motor bike or quad bike. The island has one reasonably good small road going from the north to the main beach and then everything else is tracks. We will go back again!!

tranquil and beautiful!”
Mooban Talay was a fantastic resort. We wanted a weekend of total relaxation and that is exactly what we got! The resort is really well looked after and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful (the manager remembered our names the whole time we were there). The only downside to staying at Mooban Talay is that it is situated on a very quiet beach. If you want some night life this is not the resort for you! After 10pm everything is shut!

Relaxing stay.”
Mooban Talay Resort Hotel is a great place to stay if you want to have a relaxing stay. Particularly if you have children, the hotel is perfect. It is no cars around the hotel area and no other people than those that stay at the hotel. There where less things to do around the hotel in the evenings, but you could walk or take a taxi to the beach area with bars and restaurants. In my view it seemed like the best place to stay in Koh Samet.

Jewel of Samed Island”
This is my 2nd stay at Mooban Talay and altho there were some rainy days this trip, I still love it. Their rooms are comfy. The rain shower may be scary to some, as it's out in the open-air but i think it's very unique. Private beach still beautiful and the restaurant still serves amazing food. Staff was helpful and all in all, I'd recommend it to anyone coming to Samed Island for holiday.

The perfect quiet getaway ”
If you're not looking for wild nightlife, Mooban Talay offers a wonderful white, private beach on which to sunbathe, read and take dips in the sea. The fare at the restaurant is well-presented and reasonably priced and dinner takes place at romantically lit tables on the beach. Our bungalow was pleasantly traditional with its outside shower, but had mod cons such as hairdryer and minibar. Thought had been given to little extras like the rechargeable torch. Beds were changed daily and the room beautifully cleaned. Towels were provided for us at the pool and on the beach beds. The gardens were beautiful and relaxing with plenty of water around. One wonderful extra was the resort boat which fetched us from Nuanthip Pier at no charge and took us back when we left. We found every member of staff to be friendly, smiling and helpful and anxious that we should enjoy our break with them. We will definitely return.
