Great Find!”
We were so happy with the place we stayed here for an entire week! We returned to Koh Phangan for our second Thailand trip because the island is much more laid back and authentic than Koh Tao and Samui. We absolutely LOVE Hat Rin beach (full moon party beach) mind you we've never been to a full moon party. Its a gorgeous beach between parties. If you enjoy adventure and scootering around, you'll love this place. The drive to Moonstone is gorgeous and you have beautiful views. The pool is lovely - we watched sunsets and lightening and thunder storms while drinking fantastic drinks. The bed was comfortable, we had warm water to shower and the suite was clean and simple. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend without hesitation. The owner/staff we met were very friendly and it is the type of place you want to return to so you can support the business.

Beautiful Intimate Stay”
I had travelled to Haad Rin for the first full moon party post covid with two fellow travellers (aged 25-35). Moonstone was an incredible place to have this experience from. As a female in a room by myself I felt incredibly safe. Stefan and Joy who own the property are on hand for all your needs; scooter rental, laundry, drinks and good conversation. The property only has ten rooms making for a very intimate stay, all rooms have a beautiful view and most overlook the sea or both pool and sea - this was certainly a stay where I didn't feel guilty to lounge by the pool. Moonstone is also an excellent location to explore North and South, I did not feel as though I was missing out not staying in central Haad Rin. I am already missing my balcony where I finally enjoyed a nice bottle of red wine from the local supermarket! A big shout out to Stefan and Joy for also escorting us to the full moon and giving us all the help and advice we needed.

Everything was awesome as always. The big studio apartment was clean and tidy. The bathroom was very clean and warm water was available all the time. The bedroom has a nice comfortable bed and the living room has everything you need. The view is as beautiful as always. Everything was working fine. Everybody was friendly and kind as always and it made my stay here amazing again. I accidentally booked not the big studio apartment as intended and, the owner, Stephane contacted me through agoda and gave me an upgrade to the big studio apartment free of charge. I love to stay at Moonstone and I can fully recommend staying here! I will be back for sure.

Very nice place, clean room, gorgeous landscaping and pool is very nice - great views of the sunset sky. Quite so great sleeps, quick scooter to Haad Rin Beach and a fun scenic drive back into the main town if you need. I would stay here again.

I booked the Big Studio apartment and it was an amazing time. Big living room area with tv, bar and kitchen area. Everything was clean and tidy. Air condition worked great and you also have 3 ceiling fans in the big studio. The view is beautiful and relaxing.

The room has a great sea-view, it is clean, comfortable and quiet. The pool is also nice and offers a Jacuzzi to relax. The staff was very friendly and helpful, they even organized a motorbike rental for me. I strongly recommend and will be back.

A pleasant and unusual hotel ”
Worth a stay as long as you are reasonably fit as it involves walking up a very steep driveway & spiral staircases if your on a higher level that has good slightly obstructed views to the ocean.

Don’t stay here”
Had to leave this place 1 day early and lose out on 1 nights stay as couldn’t stay any long. This has never happened to us before. The noise is unbearable as the walls are so thin. The bed is like sleeping on a brick, it was a really bad nights sleep. There is no restaurant on the facilities which makes it inconvenient for breakfast as it’s a 10 min walk to the nearest place. The staff are all rude. They didn’t give us any instructions on check in and just threw us in the room. The cleaner was absolutely rude to me for no reason at all, I only asked him if he worked here before asking him a question and he didn’t answer me 3 times on purpose. He then started talking in English so he can speak English just chose not to answer me. There is never anyone on reception to ask any questions or help with anything. The hotel is not near anything and feels unsafe to walk at night. Koh Pha-ngan the island is also declining and so many businesses have closed.

Dear Jamie, Thanks for your comments. Sorry but your booking with agoda was a non-refundable especially as you decided to check-out without telling the reception. Your check-in has been made by our English-speaking reception girl and she provided you all information about the room (Wi-Fi, TV, safe etc.), she even book a bike and took care of your laundry. Our friendly cleaning staff are speaking only basic English, they might not have understand you but hey are there to clean. We don’t have any restaurant as indicated on agoda but we have a delicious and affordable delivery service. Our rooms are made with soundproof bricks and we never had any complain in the past about thin walls. Finally, you came to Koh Phangan during low season and a Royal Ceremony time which is consider holiday in Thailand that’s why many shops were close and maybe seems not safe to you. Regards, S.G. Huge, clean room for Haad Rin.”
It is about a 20 minute walk to the party town of Haad Rin. Location wise, you MUST have a motorbike to stay here. Otherwise.....well...good luck walking all the way to Haad Rin town and in the dark, quiet area surrounding Moonstone Studio. In order to get to the 7-11 too, it was quite scary at night for a solo traveler. Definitely need a motorbike. The studio apartments are up the hill. Other than that, the apartments are absolutely fantastic, absolutely SPACIOUS and CLEAN for Haad Rin. You can go to the party side of Haad Rin by motorbike or take a taxi, and can sleep without worrying about the loud, booming noises of Haad Rin party central town. It is quiet, view is gorgeous, have a nice living room area and separate bedroom area, and a spacious bathroom area. There were no ants or bugs crawling around which was great. The owner Stephane is very attentive as well. Very nice guy. I would recommend this hotel for those who want to go party at Haad Rin town, but also wanting to sleep at a quiet area of Haad Rin as well. I will have to tell you...if you stay right at Haad Rin party central town...everyday it will be hard to sleep with the club music banging so loud!
