We had an amazing stay at this property - absolute beachfront, nice quiet and clean beach, shallow and safe for swimming, very helpful and friendly staff. Location is off a back street so there is no traffic noise. About a 12 minute walk to main street with restaurants and 7 Eleven. Rooms were lovely, clean, comfortable. Very relaxing stay.

We found crockcroch on the bed and cabinet after we checked in. It was terrible. Staff look not surprised while we let them know. Ask to change the room but it was denied by staff.

Beachfront in the middle of no where”
Our recent experience at the morning star resort was a pleasant one. If you're looking for a location where you can walk to restaraunts, clubs, bars, etc. then this one is not for you. It is very easy to catch a taxi into Thongsala or After being to Koh Phangan now I think I would recommend stay on sunset beach down on Haad Rin, it seems really mellow and far enough away from the craziness of sunrise beach. And worst case scenario just bring some ear plugs just incase.

Fantastic hotel - great pool, breakfast & service”
myself and my husband with a group of 8 other friends stayed in the hotel for 1 night the night of the black moon party. it was the perfect location, just a short walk along the beach to the party. we spent both days lazing around the gorgeous pool - which was so peaceful and relaxing with a stunning view of the deserted beach. my evening meal at the restaurant was so delicious and reasonably priced. and our breakfast the next day was fantastic. the staff were all really friendly and were lovely enough to allow my ill husband sleep in our room an extra 2 hours after check out time as he was too poorly to join the rest of our group in the sun round the pool. the rooms are amazing value for money. big comfortable beds and pillows and an extra powerful ac with fantastic decks on each room. so please with our stay at morning star, only wish we had had a few more nights!

I had the first hut right on the beach, it was beautiful to watch the sunset every evening. Nothing was to much trouble for any of the staff. They keep the resort spotless and the Thai Food in the restaurant was fantastic. The location was perfect & the owner sorted everything for us from hiring a scooter to my transfer to the ferry port. All in all we had a fantastic and relaxing time at morning star resort & we will definitely be back again.

Lucked out with this place”
Morning star is situated in Baan Tai, slightly off the main strip but close enough that you can walk to shops, restaurants and ATMs. If you want to go into town or shop at the market at the pier, it just costs 100bht per person to hop into any taxi. The food at the hotel restaurant is amazing and as the owner has just revamped some things, the prices will be coming down a little bit very soon. There is wifi and a nice swimming pool to cool off in. Bungalows are basic but have everything you need: small fridge, a/c, tv, safe, bed and shower with hot water. The ocean is just steps away, and although it is very shallow and not great for swimming, the view is beautiful and very peaceful. The best part of the resort is Jay, the hostess. She was wonderful, so friendly and gave us so much great advice about thailand and all the help we possibly could've wanted to book tours and get around the islands. She is truly a gem!

Morning Star is a little slice of heaven”
Morning Star Resort was incredible. A complete hidden little gem on Pha-ngan. It is about 10 minute tuk-tuk ride to haad-rinn which is perfect to avoid having to stay in the chaos of haad rinn. Great location for half-moon party. The staff are simply amazing. Made us feel like family right from the first moment we got there. Arrived as guests but left as friends. Thanks the staff you made Pha-ngan trip amazing.

Stayed in the Morning Star resort for 3 night new year eve 2017/2018. lovely star staff very helpfull and cant do enough to help and make you feel welcome. Was a little walk to the shops but bungalows located on beach where just perfect. would defiantly go back

it was one of the best weeks holidays i've ever had, with alot of credit for it given to Morning Star. They're a great crowd and a great team. Always relaxed but when something needs to be done it will be done. The pool is a great communial spot, you end up making good friends with anyone staying there. The location is right in the middle on the south so it's easy to get around. And if you want scooter's (which i'd certainly advice) they can get you them for a good price. They're full of favours, smiles and the hotel itself is everything you see in the photos. great holiday. thank you morning star x

beautiful scenery and tranquil”
Our stay was very pleasurable. It was a quiet and tranquil environment off the main road. Our villa was right on the beach with a beach bar directly in front of us. Beach was very quiet and the view from our room was stunning. The facilities in the room were quite good but had a couple of bugs now and then in the bathroom. The restaurant/bar area was quite nice and the staff were very efficient and helpful with taxi bookings and other transfers around the island. The gardens and pool area were well tended. Overall had a very good experience with Morning Star. I will definitely stay here again.

Perfect start to our trip ”
Morning Star was perfect for us to get settled into Thailand. We had the beachfront bungalow and it was very cute and a great way to wake up. The resort was very quiet, the pool was clean, we had some friendly dog visitors every morning that we loved, the sand was very nice but the water was too low to wade in which was fine for us. The staff was very friendly and helpful getting us tickets for events , cab rides, scooter rentals and more. We had some really good pad thai there and there’s also a lovely place up to the main road to the left called Ann’s that we loved and went to everyday. The gardens surrounding the pool were beautiful as well and there we also had fun playing volleyball on the beach! Would definiteley recommend.

Morning star resort was a lovely place to stay. I have a fear of geckos and there was plenty of them around the place and in the bungalows. This was the only negative. The pool was fab, the food was fantastic and the staff were amazing and so helpful, they couldn’t do enough for us. For the full moon party there was Free face painting and then a taxi was organised for us to Haad drin. The staff were so nice, I have found in other hotels around Thailand that the staff aren’t that great but the staff at the morning star were out on their own. Would definitely recommend staying there.
