Quiet Oasis right on the banks of the Mekhong”
Stayed both on my way to Laos and on my return. Well appointed room opened out onto lovely pool overlooking the Mekhong river. On;y two rooms so it's like staying at your own private villa. Hosts Don and Dang were friendly and attentive and shared local knowledge. Food was great - Voted best restaurant in Mukdahan for several years running. I would highly recommend Mukdahan Manor and will stay there again on my next trip through Mukdahan.

So Comfortable”
My stay at the Mukdahan Manor was like going home to visit family. I was so comfortable and relax, I actually slept for 22 of the first 24 hours. Great location and views of the Mekong River. Going into town was enjoyable too. The Indochinese market, Temples, and plaza's by the river. I plan to return next year for the Regatta boat races between Thai and Laos. First week in October. I recommend to everyone and Expats doing visa runs, of course. The owner Don is Australian say it was nice speaking with him. Very nice guy with lots of interesting conversation. Come and enjoy.

Better than a 5 Star Hotel”
A beautiful manor house overlooking the Mehkong at the bend of the river. Delicious Thai and gourmet western food, one of the best restaurants in all of Thailand and I have lived here for 7 years. Great swimming pool, large free English breakfast included in the low price of the room, one of the best places I have stayed in in Thailand, very helpful and friendly, will stay here next traveling to Mukdahan or on the way to Laos.

Perfect for a get away ”
We have stayed at Mukdahan Manor 3 times now and we will return again. It is a lovely place to stay and the service is great. Daeng is a fabulous cook and nothing is too much trouble. For people without a car it is out of town a little way but that doesn't bother us because once we are there we don't venture to far anyway. There is a beautiful view of the Mekong River and a swimming pool. It is like a home away from home.

Lovely Manor Looking over the Mehkong”
Private, beautiful setting with pool looking over the Mehkong; Fantastic Western and Thai food made to order - worth a trip from Bangkok (750 km) just for the food. This was our sixth stay at Mukdahan Manor; will return!

A stunning view with excellent service”
We arrived after booking only hours earlier. The owners were lovely and very helpful throughout our stay. The pool was kept clean and the view spectacular. The room was very clean with good facilities. The restaurant and bar (both in house) were good. The food and cocktails were delicious. The price was reflective of this but raising our budget for one night was well worth it. The only negative of the B&B is that it is further from the centre than I would usually choose and meant taxi rides could not be done using the meter. Even with this I would highly recommend the property and may be returning for a weekend during my work in Thailand.

It is located at the local resident area near by Mae- Kong River. If you are looking for at home comfy with quite place for you to chill out. Here is the best place for you in Mukdahan. Thank you very much for your help. Without your kind help to prepare food for me in the early morning for monk offering, I would not make it on the schedule that day. :-) Food was brilliant. The place was fantastic for you to chill out. Will definitely go back there again. For Laos trip.

Great quiet location on the river”
A B & B right on the river. Slightly out of town best suited for travellers with a vehicle. If you're looking for a quiet comfortable place with a great view, this is it. The hosts Don and Dang make you feel very welcome.

Felt like staying with friends”
Hospitality was beyond 100% Mr Don and Khun Dang were fantastic hosts Thank you so much!. Food was very good. The room was very clean, bathroom was large and lovely. Although the toilet unit was outside it's adjacent and we were the only ones using it. The place is a little off the centre but not too far out and if you like walking like us it's lovely walk. Khun Dang kindly arranged for a push bike each for us which we were very grateful. Don also took us to the place to take quick visa photos and also gave us a lift to the bus terminal the day we left for Savannakhet. Altogether we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Treated like royalty”
Don & Dang were without doubt the most accommodating, gracious, and may I even say generous hosts it's been our pleasure to stay with. From the moment one enters the spacious, airy (almost palatial...it's HUGE!!) entrance hall, it's immediately obvious both of them have had many years experience as they slot adeptly into routine with consummate ease. "Award Winning Cuisine", literally. In the dining area there's hardly an inch of real-estate left where the wallpaper's still visible behind awards, certificates, commendations etc. honouring Dang's culinary prowess. Well-deserved too, it's been a decade since I've tasted such fine fayre. Oh - and Don does NOT "smoke everywhere" as I saw another review claiming? Hogwash - yes he's a smoker, but limits himself AND all visitors to two smoking areas on the property. Finally: I mentioned generous; quite some after we had checked out, Don put himself out and assisted us, substantially. Thanks VERY much indeed Sir. We WILL be bringing our guests back in December as promised.

exclusive b&b with a fantastic view.”
this is not a hotel - this is an exclusive 'vip' restaurant on gardens (with pool) fronting the mekong river. it is an exclusive riverfront villa built by an australian, and lets just two rooms. great for an exclusive getaway or honeymoon. nice restaurant with thai and foreign food. not too expensive either. breakfast is extra special as you sit in the gardens and eat on your own - no crowds of tourists here, it's like having your own villa. centre of town is 10 minutes by car, but the owner will sort out transport for you in this quiet location.

Lovely hotel but too quite”
the owner of this manor is a very friendly gentleman. he is an australian and tells us about his country. besides this bed and breakfast he also has a restaurant where you can eat australian or new zealands meat. the breakfast was delicious and so is the bedroom. we did get a bedroom upstairs with bathroom and a toilet down the hall. in his restaurant you can have lunch or dinner but also can have a drink. he has a tv in his livingroom and you can watch a dvd if you like, when we are there he has the beegees on the screen, so i was quite enthusiastic to watch those guys. although a nice bed and breakfast this place is too quite for us, also in town it is very quite. there are a couple of shops and there is a nightmarket.

First Class Overlooking the Mehkong”
A first class restaurant with out of this world Western and Thai dishes served to perfection at very reasonable prices. The corner bedroom looked over the lovely pool high above the banks of the Mehkong, a very relaxing stay at this mini resort where we go twice a year, a truly remarkable place.

Quiet and out of the way”
Its a bed and breakfast not a hotel. My thai counterpart was not used to this type of home accommodation. There is an amazingly large double sink bathroom with a huge shower area and bath tub. It may seem far from the markets when you arrive but when you drive out it is not as far as it seems. The home is located right on the bank of the Mekhong river so the view is nice. There is also a large clean pool behind the home. The host was very kind. I would recommend if you want a quiet place to stay in a more private setting.

Mix of Delights and Disappointments”
As the title suggests there were pros and cons to our visit, leaving us with a mixed feeling, and not sure of returning. DELIGHTS The view The beautiful home The well-stocked bar The breakfast The spacious and comfortable bedroom Friendliness of the owners DISSAPOINTMENTS The owner's cigarette smoke, although smoked at another table, drifted over to our own table during the meal. Not pleasant for non-smokers. No hot water in the shower. Not good for foreigners who like a hot shower in the morning. Could have gotten a hot shower downtown at a 2-star hotel for 1/3 the price. Dinner service was a bit slow. 1.5 hours from our order until dinner was served. A couple large beers, appetizers and the view took the edge off the long wait. The pork (steak) was served rare and bloody; inexcusable for a restaurant that claims an "international standard." Don't order "Peach flambe with ice cream" from the menu, if you want the "flambe" part....no one seemed to know what that was, and it didn't come that way. Could be cleaner--lizard droppings all over the tops of mirrors in the bathroom. Stale cigarette smoke smell in the public areas. My Thai travel partner complained of dog urine smell inside the house, and dog hair on the seating. During the full 17 hours of our visit, there was no wi-fi accessible from the outside pool area, nor the inside common areas, nor our private room. I mentioned it several times to staff, and was directed to "try it over there," but no one checked to see if the system was on or needed resetting. Definitely have to cross this place off my list for a "working weekend" of research and writing. As mentioned by others, you've got to be a dog lover to stay there, as 5-6 dogs have the run of the house. They were generally polite, except for the uproarious "watch-dog" greeting during which we could not communicate with the owner for a full 5 minutes until he got them under control.

not easy to find, but then perfect”
A beautiful building out of town close to the Mekong river. A little bit too private ( you stay with the family, no key for your room ) but with the best kitchen we found in Thailand.
