Clean and calm place ”
The hotel is situated in a smaller road and therefore relatively calm. The deluxe room is spacious and has two armchairs and a table. There's many international TV channels. Only downside is that the sinks in the bathroom can smell sometimes.

the room is okay. basic amenities provided. location not really near to thamrin city & tanah abang but can easily take grab there. HOWEVER PLEASE READ THE ROOM DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY. they also offer a transit room which u can stay for only 6 hours. make sure u book a normal room instead of transit room if u wants to stay overnight.

I am single traveler and this is first trip to Jakarta. Location: about 10 min walk from main street (recommend taxi-support when visiting and leaving) Room: (Deluxe) Suitable bed, LCD TV, Free bottled water and some tea, Hot shower, Air-conditioner available. Especially, I appreciated when I go back to Airport with inadequate money. In Jakarta, these apps, Uber, Grab and Go-Jek, has been used like their own car and bike. Could be, the fare from here to there by taxi would be nearly IDP 200,000.- but i did not have, know about popularity and have not installed. The app, Grab, has been recommended and used after I explained about my situation and asked the best way to there. Finally, Grab driver took me by up to IDP 100,000 include HWY fee. They are going to help you when you have some questions. And, I recommend installing these apps if available.

Recommended for short stay less than 3 days”
Pros: all facilities were functioning, really hot shower, quiet neighborhood as it's located in residential near to Gajah Mada Mall where you can find varies of food but you need to walk on foot. Cons: room smelled funny when first time I opened it, construction could be heard in the afternoon, guests from upper floor dragging the funiture could be heard at night, guests talking loud and laughing hard could be heard from hall, location has many sections to reach, the hotel seemed only change the pillow sheet but not others as I found sandy dirt on bedsheet even I already gave notes to hotel that I have alergic on dust and need the hotel to change bedsheet etc, room wasn't clean daily automatically like any other hotel, slow drainage for water to go down and the water will cover 3/4 bathroom floor, bring inside slippers as not provided, Rp100k hotel deposit & pls don't take the towel unless you want deposit unreturn, download Grab/Gojek apps for easy taxi/food online booking

Worth every penny”
Stay here for 2 nights, overall it's the best price to stay with great location. The room was clean, the staff was friendly and responsive when I told them that there was a problem in the bathroom. Oh and I have to add, the room was spacious! The only downside is you can hear loud and clear the noise in the hallway and the noise of someone next to your room (cause I was kinda bothered by the lady next to my room who was coughing non stop in the middle of night and kids running back and forth in the hallway early in the morning). But nonetheless, I had a great time staying here. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

We took the two room suite and it was value for money. Only complaint is that it you have to walk a little bit to get to the main Gadja Mada road.

Ok Stay”
This was my second stay at Newton Residence. The hotel/hostel borders with a shanty area of Jakarta. A bit hard to find and to travel to since after 10pm the main street gate is locked. The price is reasonable and that is why I decided to stay there. However on my second stay I found the hotel policy rather petty and unfriendly. Every morning I had to ask for a refill of coffee sachets, sugar and a bottle of water. I was given one towel for the whole three days. I was explained that the room and towels would only be changed and cleaned after 3 day stay. I innocently too a clean towel from another room (3006) and I was chased all night and asked to return it. So I did. After three days my towel was dump and wet and the room floor was pretty sticky. I would have been good to get someone to clean with bleach the toilet as a matter of hygiene. On my last day the wi-fi was very erratic. It would work for a few seconds then shut down. Luckily I could use the one in the lobby.

The only problem with the residence was that it was difficult to find its location. The taxi driver took a lot of time and money to find it as it has no sign.

Room is clean. There is a bottle of soap mixed shower soap, shampoo and conditioner like a all in one. In room is available only one plug and when use hair dryer, Electric in room was cut by safety cut. Overall is good and cheap.

Nice place to stay”
The apartment was clean and spacious. Very modern too. We paid additional for early check-in. Location was not so accessible by public transpo but you have grab or uber and they can easily locate it. There's a weird smell in the bathroom but overall nice room and place to stay.
