this is my third stay at the duang tuwan & each time for a week long & each time is just as pleasurable as the last.nothing changes apart fom the menus.as a family it is fabulous for...location(right in between the night bazaar & thaphae gate)it is central for lots of places to eat but if you do not wish to venture out then the hotel restaurants are very reasonably priced,fabulous selection,from the marco polo steak & buffet to the chinese on the top floor where they have a fabulous dim sum lunchtime with panoramic views over the city.fabulous for...staff,they are friendly & helpful,now know my sons name & really take an interest,nothing is a problem from extra pillows,hangers....to making reservations for you.the swimming pool is great for playing children,tantastic sun worshippers or just a leisurely swim,the gym is well equipped & there are also some great classes on offer ranging from ab training,yoga aerobics.....you get my drift! and the rooms,well they aren't the most modern in the world,but very cosy,clean & comfortable.we have stayed at various five stars around cm & we all seem to sleep the best in this soundproofed hotel. hope you're stays are as lovely as ours,

I stayed at this hotel for 4 days 3 nights in deluxe room type size of room big though, room was cleaned bed is king size which was comfortable. Breakfast was standard and average taste. Facilities of deluxe room was standard but the benefit of people who stay in deluxe room will get free shuttle service which is superior won’t get it. Selling point of this hotel it’s their location which located in night bazaar area which you can explore around by walking and also have many local restaurant that waiting for you to try and also many salon and foot massage around the hotel area. Weakness of this hotel which we experienced it was wi-fi because it’s not fast enough and difficult to connect it even though it was free. Travel tip: you can hire a Tuk Tuk (maximum 3 passenger per vehicle) it’s type of car that have 3 wheels (you can look up on google how it look like) to move around. Standard price it’ll begin at 100 baht but depend on your destination that how far it is

This hotel is top notch. From the attentive staff, (and I mean all of them, doormen, front desk, cleaning staff, restaurant and bar staff. I highly recommend them. The hotel is conveniently located in the Night Bazaar area. I originally booked next door at the Suriwongse Hotel (old hotel). I booked 4 nights and I did not feel clean. The Hotel is old and had a very bad odor. After the first night, I waked my family over and booked 3 nights at Le Meridian. I booked though Agoda and even though I prepaid once I did not feel happy and paid more money to stay at Le Meridian. The front desk person at Le Meridian was very nice. I told him of our dilemma and he got us adjoining rooms, Internet and breakfast all nights for choosing their hotel. He didn't have to do that and I felt that was just the cherry that tops an already excellent hotel. That's the service you expect. I will definitely stay again and recommend the hotel to all my business associates. I hope Agoda helps me out with an credit for the lack of oversight on the quality of the hotel. The Suriwongse is not a 4 star hotel. Sincerely George Mendoza

The hotel and the rooms are so tired and dim, not very very clean. I booked deluxe room but was quite disappointed to see that the room is just like an ordinary standard room. But that's all I don't like about this hotel. There are so many other good things that overall I would recommend this hotel to other travellers. Great Price. I made my booking on agoda for 3 nights and as I recall, it's around half of the standard price only. Buffet breakfast very good with variety from western to Chinese and Thai and there was something a little different on each day I stayed so I didn't feel bored. The hotel is of large scale, area occupied huge, lobby area very large with Thai decor and water flow. Gardening around the entrance and car park good. Swimming pool and gym looks good and clean though I didn't have time to try. Room spacious, bed comfy, provides all you need, blackout curtains. Location stragetic, 5 mins walk to night bazaar or Ping river. There is a hotel shuttle van leaving to airport at every sharp hour at B120 or if you like to manage your time better (only 15 mins drive is required to airport), you may book a taxi at the front desk at B150. Yet, I think the taxi available outside is cheaper (it's only B110 as the official price I paid from airport to the hotel). Staff good, they will greet you whenever seeing you. The shopkeeper also nod their head and gives a smile from their shop. You may book a tour here (I was arranged to join "jasmine" travel company). I have joined a one day tour to Chiang Rai with long neck village (from 7:30m to 8:30pm). I enjoy. Price good (perhaps it's because now May is low season). The van is new and clean, guide not too good though (not bad guy, but just not so informative and attentive). Overall I had a good time in this hotel. With this great price, location, large scale and breakfast, what better can you ask for?

If you are first timer to Chiangmai with family and children, this will be the most recommended hotel due to its very convenient location. Finding food is so easy staying here and the night bazaar is just outside your hotel. So.... you will not get bored.... because it is so enjoyable walking along night bazaar every night and sitting in STARBUCKS (just next to the hotel) relaxing. Although, hotel is a little old but everything is good enough for the money that you pay for it. If you want newer hotel and willing to pay more, MOVENPICK and Le Meridian are just as near. Anyway, this hotel is really good and comfortable enough for my family and also the right budget for me.

Yaang Come Village is a beautiful little oasis just next to Night Bazaar. Hotel is just next to Night Bazaar, yet a bit inside making it a very quiet and beautiful location. We thoroughly enjoyed their nice breakfast, pool, which was just perfect for our son and, of course, proximity to Night Bazaar and other attractions! As others have mentioned, they did have a bit of mosquitoes, but again, so do all the other hotels in Chiang Mai and SEA. If we are back in Chiang Mai we will definitely stay at Yaang Come Village again!

when i read about those reviews left by previous travelers, i am skeptic about the conditions of the hotel and i actually regretted the booking but when i first step foot into the hotel, everything change. the staff at the front desk was so nice and patience. (my cousin request to change room due to she was put into the old wing) no fuss was made about the changes. the room was huge as it show in the photo with all the toiletries for you (i bought some myself because of the false review), the bath and the shower was great. the service staffs was friendly and helpful, they actually ran a few times just to satisfy our needs of extra pillows. breakfast is most enjoyable with many variety to choose from and we actually ate so much breakfast that we forgo our lunch. this is the type of hotel that make you come back every time and you will not believe how it will turn out after it fully renovate. it will be one of the best hotel right in the center of the night bazaar of chiang mai which is just right outside the door step.

My family stayed at the Manirakorn Hotel for two nights in Deluxe Terrace rooms. The hotel is located within walking distance of about 7 minutes from Chiang Mai's famous night bazaar. With the comfortable walking distance, one can enjoy the tranquility of the night as well as the bustling night life. Getting tuk-tuk (local taxi) is very easy. Once you raise a hand, taxi drivers never miss you. What I feel is lacking is that the terrace buildings do not have elevators. Hence, getting up can be quite a tiring climb for those tired legs after exploring Chiang Mai and the hillside. In addition, no twin bed rooms provided in the terrace buildings. One of the rooms I stayed in has a bathtub outside of the bath room. What an idea was that? In my opinion, creative is a word used in exaggeration. On the other hand, this hotel has much more plus points than its bad points. Great service is the key in hospitality excellence. Manirakorn Hotel staff were very friendly in assisting our travel plans. One of the receptionists gave us her suggested itinerary for a day in Chiang Mai. Great that we did not miss out on the must-sees in Chiang Mai. Hotel facilities were adequate for all travelers' needs. I had a lazy morning at the swimming pool, sunbathing. Or catch up with friends back home at night via email using their free Internet access provided at the lobby. It would be better if seats were provided for users as well as time allocation for a more organised control of the users in the queue. It can be quite frustrating for one who needs to "fight" in order to use the Internet first. In my opinion, I think the security would be tighter if it checks the guests and people entering the hotel. It seems like anybody can just walk in and wander around. In any case, the security personnel provided the first contact point for us and they greeted us with bright friendly smiles. friendly staffs. the hotel is in the middle of the actions in night bazaar. the deluxe room we stayed was in a good size..not too big..not too small (for us). the room was clean, modern and keeping me thinking that 'simple is the best'. all amenities you need is in the room except ironing and ironing board (but they brought one for us after 5mins we made a call to housekeeping). nice fitness center.

I really liked this hotel and will definitely go back. The rooms are really nice and good size too. The bed was comfy. The front of the hotel has a cute little bar with decent drink prices. Breakfast was good. Pool is small but looked beautiful. It's on a quieter street but just a few minutes walk to the Night Bazaar and the Sunday Night Walking Street. My only complaint is that when I asked the staff to book us a taxi to the airport, the best she could offer was a car for 600 baht! I go to Chiang Mai a lot and know that that is a ridiculous price. She wouldn't call any other taxis/car services. We ended up just flagging down a songtheaw on the street for 200 baht - it was 4am.

Staff was very helpful, service with a smile. Pleasant stay for 3 nights. Located just 10 steps from the night bazaar. But this night bazaar is almost the same as many street bazaar we see in Thailand. Try going to another night market near the Maya shopping centre (about 15 mins by tuk tuk / songtaew (their local small pickups).

We stayed for 4 nights in a 2 bedroom apartment. 2 young kids, and a grandma. The rooms were well-furnished, staff very helpful and restaurant food, delicious. Even my mum, who's especially fussy was won over by the staff and well-appointed amenities. We'll definitely stay here again, in a return trip.

we stay at the star hotel chiangmai on every trip we do there. It is in the heart of the night bazaar area, but just tucked off the main street, so privacy and quietness is assured, the staff are alway s helpful and courteous, and nothing is a problem for them, The desk staff are always willing to help out in any way they can. The included breakfast is buffet style. the wait staff are always friendly and smiling and do a tremendous job. you have full access to the amenities at the sriwongse hotel across the road, Tea and coffee facilities are available in the room and free internet access in the lobby. We love it and will continue to stay there whenever we visit chiangmai

Chiang Mai is only a 3 hour flight from my home in Singapore so it's very convenient for short breaks. Royal Lanna is well located in the heart of the Night Bazaar area so it's very convenient for shops, markets and restaurants not too mention the famous night bazaar with its hundreds of stalls. It has a swimming pool which is both adult and child friendly and it's clean and well maintained and ideal for sunbathing and having a dip. The rooms are big, spotlessly clean and although not important to most tourists I would have prefered a more modern TV as we do not go out at night. It's perhaps an issue the hotel could consider although for most tourists its not important as they will be out and about at nighttime. The buffet breakfast is extensive, catering for both Asian and Western tastes. The food is fresh everyday and it's so tasty we tended to overeat. For the first time we used the hotel coffee shop which I would describe it as a "hidden jem". The food menu is excellent, it's presentation is very skilful and thoughtful which makes a very refreshing change to the rough and ready service and overcooked food you will experience at the nearby pubs and restaurants. The Royal Lanna is not the most modern hotel but it has a timeless quality and classy atmosphere .... it is an elegant hotel as can be observed by relaxing for a while in it's magnificent foyer .... very stylish The reception staff are both efficient and friendly and it's a pleasure checking in and having a wee chat. Usually we book a superior room but this time we decided to treat ourselves and booked a deluxe room for 200 bhat more per night. But really other than adding an armchair it provides no added value over the superior room which is the same in all other respects ... so go for the superior room and have a nice meal in the coffee shop with the saving.

Bathroom very clean. Very near night bazaar. Breakfast add on 150b/person if it’s not including in your room booking. Variety quite ok, taste not bad. They got western and Thai food. Other breakfast option is you can walk up to 1 km to the market (anusarn / fruit market). Receptionist 24hours which is good. No fridge in the room. No lift at the building which is a minus. But bellboy will always be ready to help you

location: located right in night bazaar. everything is so accessible. food, shopping and transport. staff: friendly staff. they allows me to have late checkout till 2.30pm. room: booked a suite room with a king size bed. but we added a extra bed at 300baht/night. room is quite spacious. there is no water boiler in the room but you can call the reception and it will be deliver to you in 5mins time. massage: there is a massage parlor at the entrance of the hotel. 1 hr massage at 180baht. i don't find the massage good, they are too gentle. you can get better massage else where at cheaper price around. price: quite reasonable room rate considering good location and big room.

There's always a receptionist at the front desk, and they're so nice, helpful, and knowledgable. I got there around noon, and she booked me a songthaew right then for an afternoon trip. They also arranged a songthaew for me when leaving for the airport. If you're planning to do day trips, they have a booklet to look through, and you can book through the hotel. The location is very close to the Night Bazaar and walking distance to the Sunday Night Market and Chiang Mai Gate. The room was nicely made with folded up towels - yes there were little bugs, however it's Thailand and pretty much unavoidable. There's a safe in the room as well. I highly recommend this place, it wasn't expensive and it's good quality.

I have been living in many different hotels all across Thailand. Generally they are all hospitable but the Night Bazaar Inn takes it to a whole new level. The staff are very helpful, courteous and proactive. The location is great, within the Night Bazaar but slightly away so it's quiet and peaceful. Walk down the street and there is the Food places - local ones, fast food restaurants including western restaurants. There is also a Hard Rock restaurant close by. Lots of Night stalls nearby. The hotel room is clean and comfortable. There is a small balcony which allows you to just rest and relax with a book. Bring the mosquito repellent as during the hot season there may be mosquitoes when you sit in the balcony. Overall we had a great stay. Ask the hotel staff for pointers if you need to arrange for elephant camp visits or tiger kingdom or view the silk factory and umbrella making factory. All great places to visit.

Wonderfully helpful staff, (also spoke English) . My room was exactly as pictured. Exceptionally clean! They helped me figure out both public and private transportation and helped set up two day trips for me. Hotel is within easy walking distance to the Old City , night bazaar and like of restaurants. I recommend the Whole Earth Restaurant a 15 min walk up the same street as the hotel. The only negative comment I have is that they should put better quality locks on the room doors.

C H Hotel is a safe, centrally-located Hotel - I'd definitely stay again if I return to Chiang Mai. Our favourite amenities include: Superior Breakfast Buffet, clean, large, safe rooms, proximity to Night Bazaar, friendly & helpful Staff, secure in-room safe, deep bath tubs, swimming pool, and TV in room. If you're looking for a reasonably-priced room that has good amenities and is Very Close to the Night Bazaar, look no further!

Was happy to arrive to a large room, with new aircon, new fridge, and large clean bath towels. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and the decor in the room had a nice attention to detail. Everything felt like a hand selected piece to make the room match the antique feel of the hotel. Although the two Moroccan style lamps had burned out bulbs, I asked the desk for two replacements and changed them myself. The shower didn’t drain well, so ended up standing in a pool of water by the time shower was over. Breakfast is basic, and no options for vegan/vegetarian. We skipped it. Over all it is a nice, clean, hotel very close to the night bazaar, and 7-10min walk to Old City. Would have stayed longer, but hotel was fully booked for the rest of our time in CM. Would definitely recommend.

We are a Canadian family of 4 with children ages 3 and 5. Initially we only booked for one night online, but have extended our stay well beyond that now. For value for money, this place is hard to beat. For those reviewers complaining about it being run down and tired, I would say c'mon people, for 30 odd bucks a night for a family of four this place has a lovely pool, is located right in the night bazaar, has a full buffet breakfast and helpful, friendly staff. Sure it could use a coat of paint here and there and some things could be updated but if those things are important to you, then find another place to your liking. But, guaranteed you will not be paying $35 a night. As a family on long-term travel, having travelled throughout Costa Rica, Thailand and Vietnam, this place ranks up there as having the best value. We would highly recommend it and would happily stay here again.

We had a good memory in night bazaar hotel.when we arrived to check in,the stuff are very nice.I remember we didn't find our key when we after shopping,the stuff helped open the door,after 5mins, they gave our key,'cause we put it on the table when we had breakfast.the room is very special and comfortable.we all felt like at home.

If you like rustic type hotels, then Rom Po will fancy your adventure. This Boutique Hotel lets you enjoy what ever you are doing in Northern Thailand. I recommend the air conditioned room because it warms up pretty good during the day here in CM now. The shower is hot and the room is very functional with Sat TV, small refrigerator, clean and well mapped with ambient lighting. 
The Wi-Fi is fast and reliable, I had three bars and no issues to report. For roughly $39 USD a night, it is a good exchange. I did not get breakfast included, so I could be flexible. Actually this Hotel was good. It is a breakaway from the tradition cookie cutter chain Hotels. But, I probably would not stay for a long time, a few days is alright. Noise: Located off the main road and in a small street. But still heavily traveled.  I did take the advice of an on-line review and not stayed on first floor. Camped out on second floor. The Hotel is in good location to the night bazaar area.

The hotel is about 15-20 mins drive from the airport, staffs were very friendly and helpful. The room isn't big but nice and have most things you needed to sleep. There is no fridge in the room but there is a bar area and a fridge for sharing. The design and theme of the hotel is very nice and it's worth the money. The two things that were the downside were the air-con was unpredictable sometimes in the middle of the night it's really really cold and you can't turn it down just have to turn it off. Also there are so many mosquitoes in the room, in the room we got given mosquitoes repellent to keep plugin but not sure if that helps. The area wise hotel close to most things in walking distance, 7eleven&chemist right next door of the hotel, lots of massage places for 200 baht, 5-10 mins walk to night bazaar and more massage place down the night bazaar and big shopping market.

Elaborating on the pros and cons. We stayed here for ten days in November 2009. This is a new hotel, so is very clean. The staff are very hard working (never seem to go to bed!) and are very helpful and obliging. We arrived early and after a brief wait we were shown to our room. We stayed in a 'petit' room at the side of the hotel away from the main road - it was quiet and had a reasonable view of the mountains from the large window (afternoon sunshine). - The air conditioning worked very well, as did the large shower. The bed was very comfortable and the room was cleaned everyday. The complimentary in-room WIFI worked very well and we could plug our netbook into the flat screen TV to listen to BBC radio through the speakers. There wasn't a huge number of English TV channels - just news and third rate American films. The hotel, however, provided access to a selection of recently released films on DVD which could be borrowed for free from the reception. Each room has a DVD player along with the TV. Breakfast was served from 6 am to 10 am on the roof of the hotel - There was a good selection of Western and Thai buffet style dishes including yogurts,cereals and fresh fruit and the eggs were served to order - none of that rubbery stuff you sometimes get! -The coffee was real and tasted good. We tended to get to breakfast close to 10 am and some of the Thai dishes had gone cold......no problem! - We just made our selection in a bowl and the staff put it into the frying pan to make it piping hot!! The Hotel is located on the Thapae Road and only the most lazy would suggest it too far from the attractions. In fact it is within easy walking distance of China Town, The fascinating Fruit and Flower Markets, The Night Bazaar and The Sunday Walking Night Market. The Ping River is 200/300 metres away and it's about a 20 minute walk across the river to the Railway Station. For the price that this hotel charges, it's great value for money ! Friendly, helpful & mostly clean budget rooms. Fairly basic & certainly not 5 star, but not everybody requires that.We had 2 separtate stays here in the hotel, conveniently located right at the gate into the Night Bazaar area. An easy stroll to everything you want, need or desire. The ladies in the kitchen were great & the home cooked style meals excellent too :) As travellers we all have different needs & expectations. I witnessed arrogant, whining travellers here, but what do you want for A$20 a night. Possibly our finest stopover for 6 nights & certainly value for money. If you want a pool with a swim up bar.....look elsewhere. If you want cheap, great staff & central location, this is the place !

The room was clean, the bed was comfy. There was also a small fridge in our room, so we could store some fruits. The location is the best, it's right next to Night Bazaar, 5 minutes walk to Fah Lanna Spa which is my favorite spa in Chiang Mai. Owners were amazing, they were so nice, friendly and super helpful. My stays were great. Last but not least, they made a very good Thai breakfast. I definitely come back here again.

My sister and I reached to the hotel before our check in time but the guy working at the front desk offered to let us keep our bags there while we cruise the town. But we wanted to stay so he let us hang out in the lounge area while we used the WiFi. My sister had trouble walking so the 2 flight of steep steps (the first floor with rooms) were a little rough for us but everything else was awesome! Close to the night bazaar and many massage parlors so it was easy for us to get around. I highly recommend this place.

Loved it here. Staff were so friendly and helped us book our buses and excursions. We did compare proces elsewhere and found the price to be pretty much the same but the lady who sells the tours gave us alot of honest info and different choices so we could pick exactly what we wanted rather than kust having a leaflet given to you and just sort of guessing yourself what will be best. When we went on our trip they did cute little things like left towels out for us to take on our trips with a little note - just very thoughtful and a personal touch. Rooms were all you need as a traveller really just white and clean with aircon, fridge, dresser etc. also had a satellite tv. Location is just off of one of the main streets to Night Bazaar - easy to get to everything but quiet at night we were never kept up. All in all a great stay and would recommend, although we didnt meet other travellers here so if you were a solo traveller would probably go to a hostel. Easy enough to meet people out and on trips though so we had no problems.
