-No professional with skills of staffs at restaurant. Seems without a training of serve such disregard to customer required clean-up and setup table, bring away the spoons which was using…. don’t raise up any questions. -Receptionist is not friendly when check out, through away Visa card and cold attitude.

Two of us settling in to 3 months working in Hanoi, visited Ninh Binh to get away from the hustle bustle of Hanoi. We haven't been to this area before so looked for a place to use as a base to get a first idea of the Ninh Binh area, and the Legend Hotel fitted the bill, booking easily online. We caught the early train from Hanoi to Ninh Binh, bought tickets easily at Hanoi station, had good seats and updated carriage on an S5 train, and was a good trip (except I left my favourite hat on the train in the melee getting off the train at Ninh Binh...). The Legend Hotel at first seems to be in a strange area where there is a lot of building (houses and hotels), and out of the town centre, but it's so easy getting around that the position doesn't really matter. Great views of the mountains, the cemetery and the general area. The private houses being built near the hotel, in what seems to be a new housing part of the town, are amazing - several huge replicas of the Basilica in Rome being built for one family make a surreal statement against the magical background of the stunning karst mountains. The hotel is relatively modern (15 years?), very well appointed, very clean with a good kitchen and dining room and other facilities including a good swimming pool which would have been great on a hot day. Key guests seem to be bus groups, so our first lunch on the day we arrived was unreal - just the two of us in a full silver service dining room for 110 people, with full staff in attendance! Several bus groups arrived while we were there which was interesting and no problem at all for individual travelers. The highlight of the hotel are the staff members - very polite, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and all speaking English to various degrees. The two we had most to do with were Hanh (? ) who seemed to be the day manager, and Phao Tong who was our guide on our day trip to the nature area and various pagodas and other highlights. The best hotel in Vietnam ”
I strongly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Ninh Binh. Mr Ha the Manager and his staff will make your stay beautiful. They very professional, naturally kind people always willing to help and make sure your stay is comfortable. When we walked into this hotel, the warm welcome made us feel at home immediately! The rooms are very huge, extremely clean, and comfortable. Breakfast buffet, lunch , dinner is the best we ate . My husband and my teenage boys didn’t want to leave. Mr Ha will check on us personally and made sure we are fine . It was my husband’s birthday and he went beyond himself to offer us the best birthday gift and cake ! My family will forever remember this place and the kindness we received whilst there. The pool, the gym , the facility as a whole was up to our expectation. Nice hotel with accommodating staff, hotel far from city center”
I am happy with the accommodation and the staff who extended help during our stay in the hotel. The hotel was clean and the room we had was big with the best bed! The tours offered by the hotel were quite expensive compared to the one we joined in Hanoi. So we asked the hotel staff for a car rental and driver which reduced the expense to more than half. We thought they wouldn't allow this but we were surprised that they did. There is no free breakfast for the booking I had despite the high fee I paid for the booking. Breakfast buffet, we additionally paid, was good though. The hotel is located quite far from the city center and from restaurants. So be prepared for this when you book this hotel. Over all, I think this is one of the best hotels in Ninh Binh.

Staffs are very kind. Breakfast is very good. It was composed of bread, froot, rice noodle, Porridge, drink etc It was very delicious. You must get on a public transportation going tourist attractions. But the cost isn't expensive, One way 80,000vnd When you arrive at ninh binh train station. please call to them or they give you a ride by free shuttle bus.

We arrived Sat 11am, pool was closed for repair, bar was closed for repair. Seemed like a lonely spot. The staff opened pool area. It's pleasant but there is no sun after midday.The 10 storey hotel building casts shadow on the entire area, maybe they should have put the pool round the corner a little!! The lobby is essentially a waiting room, if you want a coffee the poolside is the only place to get it, and since it rained on our second day that wasn't an option. There is no covered area outside, so you're pretty much confined to your room if it rains. It rains a lot in Vietnam. I enjoyed Ninh Binh. Tam Coc is amazing. This could be a great hotel.
