"We very much enjoyed our stay here for 4 nights. The people running the place were so sweet and very helpful. The location was an easy to walk to almost anywhere in old city. The breakfast was sufficient and the coffee and water on hand 24/7 was nice. The only negative thing I have to say is about the room. The bed sheets weren’t always very clean and the shower water kind of takes over the whole bathroom- which I realized was a pretty common theme in the hotels I stayed at in thailand. There’s no separation of shower and rest of the bathroom so whole bathroom floor collects about an inch of water when showering. I want to add that the people at the desk helped us book an elephant tour and called an airport cab for us. There’s some very affordable, nice western restaurants nearby if thai street food isn’t your thing. "

"I just returned from a solo stay at Aksara Heritage while in Chiang Mai. I had the most amazing time exploring Old City from this central location. This was the perfect boutique hotel for my short stay and I enjoyed everything about it. It was so clean and spotless! The staff was friendly and attentive and I loved my room. It had a very modern and stylish look. The blackout blinds had me sleeping very well, and the free minibar and snacks which included water, soda, fruit, and crackers was such an unexpected and sweet surprise. The breakfast was decent too. I can't wait to come back to Chiang Mai and stay here again. "

"We booked the Roseate Hotel for 2 nights and upon arrival wanted to stay for our full 5 nights in Chiang Mai but they were booked a couple other nights. This hotel was our best experience and value for money by far. We got a room upgrade simply because they had it available. The only thing it didn't include which most other hotels did was breakfast. The staff were very friendly upon arrival, and we left our bags (without any issues) at the hotel for 2 days while we went trekking in the northern hills. The rooms were spacious, the hotel was very well maintained with clean rooms, the rooms had functioning air conditioning, and the rooms had safety boxes. It was beneficial being on the perimeter of the old city as all drivers had no issue accessing our hotel, and everything within the city limits is in walking distance. There were plenty of delicious restaurants nearby. The only area this hotel was a little ways from was the night bizarre on the east end of the city. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would recommend this place to anyone looking to spend ~$40 CND/ night. "

"We were pleasantly surprised with our stay here. The hotel is located in the Old City and close to a number of very interesting temples. As others pointed out, the bathrooms could use an upgrade but the hotel is clean, the beds comfortable, a large flat screen television with many English speaking channels. The Wi-Fi worked excellent in our room and everywhere in hotel. And did I mention they have a great little pool for cooling off after a hot day hiking around town? The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The front desk helped us book a trip to Chiang Rai and everything worked out great. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. You will be hard pressed to find a better value for the money. I'd also recommend booking your hotel with the included breakfast. The breakfast has a good selection of both western and Asian items and you could even get omelets or eggs cooked to order. Coffee, tea, juice, toast and a good selection of fresh fruits were also available. Next trip to Chiang Mai I won't need to research a place to stay, I'll be staying here."

"The hotel is very well located in Old City, and is close to a lot of shops, restaurants and bars. The hotel room was OK - room and sheets were clean, but the bathroom and the room itself is a bit old. Towels smell a bit mouldy, but you get new ones everyday, and the rooms are also cleaned everyday. Overall, it was a good choice and all the essencial requirements - especially cleanliness - were met. I'd say the photos look a bit better than the actual hotel rooms, but it's good overall! The staff is nice and thoughtful, and there's a 'tour and tourists' team who help you enroll tours and activities, which is helpful."

"The quality of service was exceptional. On our first day my wife ordered some chicken soup in their restaurant. It had eggs on it and she doesn’t like eggs that way. So we ordered something else for her. When it was time for us to pay we wanted to pay for the soup as well. But they said its their fault that they didn’t put this in the menu that it had eggs, and so didn’t charge us. Moreover the breakfast was really good as well, we loved their food. The location was really good as well their are plenty of restaurants, 2-3 temples and also the Sunday night market in old city, all within walking distance. Overall it was a very pleasant stay and would love to come here again. "

"Nice accommodation with very comfortable bed. Great location in Old City. Cool folks at the tattoo parlor next door. My boyfriend got a bamboo tattoo which was very nice. Only bad thing about this hotel is that the bathroom smelt like rotten vegetables and mold due to bad drainage and standing water. We bought a glade plugin but was still terrible smelling. We moved hotels after 2 nights, but I'm not sure if that happens in all rooms or we just got a dud. The pool is great and the foyer looked like a museum with amazing artifacts! Beautiful grounds. "

"I think the location was fantastic. We were just a short walk from El Diablo's and Mike's Burgers, two of the best eateries in Chiang Mai. To go to the airport only cost us 100 baht, and we were a 50 baht tuk tuk ride away from the Riverside restaurant and bar. Overall, to go anywhere was very cheap. Since this is located in Old City, it's super easy to walk around here too and get to know the city. We were able to walk to massage places, and there are other restaurants nearby. The staff was so so so nice and helpful with booking tours. We didn't have a flight til 10pm and they let us keep our room for 500 baht extra until 6pm that day. The rooms are small and nothing special, but they do the job and have flat screen TVs too. The shower wasn't the best (it went from burning hot to cold every minute) but we dealt with it and it was fine. We told the staff the soap was running low and they immediately filled it up. They also gave us complimentary water. I would definitely stay at M Hotel again!"
