Great value for money ... boutique hotel in old quarter near all action. “ Lily adds value to the hotel having fluent English and a wealth of information.” Hiring a free university walking guide on line to guide you through the old and French quarters is well worth it.. We did it on two separate mornings and they really enjoy the experience and tip... Few pitfalls Breakfast area with no separate bar so enjoying a glass of wine at night in same area not exciting.. Caution when booking room as some are much smaller and face a brick wall... strongly suggest doing three day hike through Sapa villages which is a five and half hour busride

We were a couple that stayed at the luxurious Terrace Suite. The room was spacious with a corner balcony overlooking a beautiful corner in the Old Quarter. The location is excellent with many of the local favourited restaurants very close by. It was just a block from the overly busy bia intersection and closer to the local markets incl Dong Xuan. We stayed there on a Saturday night and there was minimal noise from the street/traffic as in previous airbnbs/hotels we have stayed at in the old quarter. The bed was very comfortable and the steam room/bath was perfect. Staff were very courteous and very friendly at all times. We had breakfast at the beautiful rooftop restaurant and all the staff were very accommodating and made sure the finer details were taken care of. We noticed that there are no taller buildings nearby so the rooftop views allowed it to feel very open without any buildings to overshadow. We also had massages organised on the spot. I would definitely stay again.

Found this hotel on Agoda. Looking for something in Old Quarter within a price range. Saw this new hotel that had a few 5 star ratings. Emails back and forth were prompt after booking regarding airport transfer. We were greeted warmly by the staff upon arrival. We were a few hours early and did not request early check in. They accommodated us very well, which was appreciated after traveling from the US. They explained that they were a newer hotel and would love feedback on which to improve. They also warned us that is gets noisy at night with a balcony room. There’s a club across the street so between 10:30pm and 2am you can hear the music and DJ. Breakfast was a treat. We were served traditional Vietnamese food (noodle soup, & stir fried noodles) as well as western food (omelets, bacon, hotdogs) fruit and Vietnamese coffee. Was well prepared!! We liked this place so much we canceled another reservation and booked another night after our cruise in Halong Bay. Would recommend!!

Excellent new hotel in old quarter. The staff especially Ms. Cynthia were the best I have ever come across in 7 years of Agoda.com reviews. They even all came out to wave us goodbye at the end of our stay. And a bottle of wine in celebration of our anniversary. The breakfast area is quite small but they rang us when a table became free after five minutes.

I really enjoyed my time in Tirant Hotel. I have spent 5 nights with several check ins and check outs because I was travelling to other places too but Hanoi and Tirant hotel were my base. The hotel is perfectly located in the old quarter of Hanoi. The staff was great, very helpful, they did not miss anything and helped me to organize tours for halong bay and other locations and several pick ups from the airport and drop off. One day I had a very early check out because I had a flight at 7am so I left from the hotel at 5am and they gave me a breakfast box, I really appreciated it, considering the normal breakfast service starts at 6.30 am. The room are spacious and clean, very comfortable bed and good shower. Maybe the only cons is that not every room has a window, but that is due to the construction habits in Hanoi (especially in the old quarter) but was not a problem considering that I was not there to spend my time in my room but just to have a clean and comfortable room where to sleep and get a shower and relax between one tour and the next. I have nothing to complain

This was by far the best hotel we've stayed in to date. We arrived for our stay in Hanoi exhausted after 18 hours of flight. We were warmly welcomed by the staff. The location was perfect, just 2 mins away from the Hoan Kiem Lake. We could walk around the Old Quarter to discover lots of attractive destination without getting a taxi. This could save us a lot of money already. The breakfasts were very good and varied. Room was clean and quite spacious. The hotel just finished installing the gym, the spa and the swimming pool on the Top Floor. The best thing about May De Ville Old Quarter Hotel was the staffs. They were accommodating and helpful to us throughout our stay from giving directions, booking tours to Sapa & Ha Long Bay, Hoi An and Mekong Delta. Keep up the good work May De Ville Old Quarter. My family will definitely come back next year! Highly recommended!!!!

We stayed for a day at this wonderful hotel for a day before we went on Halong Bay Cruise. Staff was very helpful guiding us to nearby places to visit.Would like to heartily thank Jenny and Rose again for their advise.Its the personal attention provided to individual guest which makes hotel a great stay.Located centrally in Old Quarter, all attractions are nearby.They helped us in booking tickets for the Water Puppet show as well.Also they they let us keep our bags for few hours before we flew to Danang at the end of our Halong bay tour.We tasted awesome PHO at the hotel restaurant as well.All in all a very good place to stay !!!

I would say it's a good choice for budget traveller as the bus stop to NoiBai Airport is juz around the corner (2 minutes walking distance). Room facilities are superb, juz having a slightly complicated TV control system (compared to the rest of my Hanoi Exp). Walking distance to the Hottest Area in Old Quarter (but not in the middle of it - as it will be too messy). The Hotel is relatively new, highly recommended. Prolly the best quality Breakfast ever had during my Stay in Vietnam. Truly a 4 Star Restaurant.

The staff here are really friendly and the whole hotel feels like an extremely homely environment once you step in. They never fail to greet you with a smile, ask how’s your day, if you need any help or where you are keen on exploring. Really no regrets choosing this hotel out of the many hotels in old quarter and recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a simple stay as they don’t have amenities like gym, Swimming pool etc. Most amazing part was when we were gonna check out and booked vehicle through them, all the staffs in the lobby came out and wished us safe travels and bidded is goodbye! Really like a big family :) we took a selfie too but not suitable to post on a public platform hahaha but really recommend!!!!

If I could give the staff and spa 6 stars I would. It’s a beautiful boutique hotel, nicely located in old quarter. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Great roof top restaurant/bar that over looks nearby lake and old quarter. The spa is the best I’ve found in all Hanoi even compared to other 5 star hotels I stayed in. Most valuable are the staff. They helped me enjoy my stay in Hanoi the days I stayed at the hotel and even days I stayed at other hotels. They were polite, responsive and very helpful!

We had a wonderful stay on 8th April 2018 at Luxury Old Quarter hotel. I felt so blessed to choose this hotel because the street outside this hotel focus on sales of sewing materials. It was a good time to replenish my sewing stuffs like lockstitch machine’s threads, zips and buttons. For fabrics and only can go to Dong Xuan market. It is within walking distance from hotel. The night market situated just behind this hotel. This hotel extended great hospitality. They noted my passport details of my birthday and gave me a nice advance birthday cake. It was so unexpected and a lovely 😊 thought from them. So thank you. For those into sewing hobby, I will truly recommend Luxury Old Quarter hotel. The deco of room is so beautiful as per their description. If you intend to stay at Old Quarter area, you never go wrong to book this hotel. Enjoy your holiday!!

Hotel service was amazing from beginning to end. It is in the perfect location in Old Quarter. We were offered a snack and fresh fruit juice upon arrival as well as "tourist" instructions on how to cross the street in Hanoi,I noticed that they make it a point to learn all of their guests' names which makes it more personal. The breakfast is a good combination of both Vietnamese and a Western breakfast. Our room was fairly large compared to the other hotel in Old Quarter that we stayed in. We only stayed one night before our early morning excursion to Ha Long Bay. At checkout, they sent us with snacks and water for the road as well as a small parting gift to our surprise. I would recommend this hotel to anyone without any hesitations and the service is the best service that we received in Hanoi.

It’s our first time in Hanoi and we choose JM Marvel. It’s fairly new hotel . Room are small but please understand there no large size rooms in Old Quarters. Breakfast were simple and yummy. Staffs are very helpful and friendly. Especially the front desk staffs . We stayed two nights and booked airport services. Everything went pretty well. Nice and easy. Hotel located within walking distance to the railway, swan lake and church. Many local eateries that you can taste of true Vietnamese food. Loved it !

This was the 1st trip to Vietnam for my wife and I visiting our adult son who teaches English in Hanoi. We chose Damsels based upon it's location in Old Quarter, the price range we wanted to spend, and +9 reviews. We made a fantastic choice! I would give 5 Stars to every aspect of this hotel. But most important was the service we received from Mary and her staff. She helped arrange everything from our trip to Halong Bay, airport driver, and SaPa tour. Even after we left the hotel to travel south, she kept in touch to assure we were doing well. This is definitely where I will stay every time I visit Hanoi! Jim M

We travel to Hanoi once a month on average and typically stay at a five star hotel on the lake. This was the first time we stayed at the Essence d'Orient Hotel and Spa and it will be the hotel we stay at from now on. We had a better experience here than at the five star hotel and at more than half the price and a much better location. What a great experience at this wonderful boutique hotel and spa. The overall feeling we got was one of visiting the home of a good friend. Warm greetings, attentive service, very clean, warm decor, fantastic food and unique personal feeling. The location cannot be beat if you want to see the old quarter as it is right in the center of the action. We strolled down one block away each evening to have a drink, listen to music and watch the people from all over the world. The breakfast must be the best in Hanoi (better than the five start hotel). We had lunch and we recommend each visitor to eat at least one time at the hotel for lunch or dinner as the food was outstanding and a unique twist on traditional Vietnamese dishes. We also spent an afternoon at the Spa on the second floor. Again, it felt like we were visiting friends as the spa staff took great care of us, provided wonderful, professional massages and gave us the energy to hit the streets of the old quarter once again. We will use the Essence d'Orient Hotel and Spa as our new Hanoi home as if feels like visiting friends. Who wouldn't want a five star experience at half the price?

This boutique hotel is well-located at the centre of action in the Old Quarter, almost an oasis of calm surrounded by the hustle and bustle of inner city street life that is Old Quarter Hanoi. You are within moments of stepping out of the hotel in the busy shopping streets around Hoàn Kiếm Lake, with all the sounds, sights and smells of a unique historical city in Asia. The front office staff are exceptional and transformed our stay (split by a night's tour to Halong Bay) from very good to extremely memorable. The welcome briefing (accompanied by a nice cold drink) was similar to what I'd expect from a five star luxury resort and very informative to boot (thank you Su Li!), with very helpful recommendations of what to do and the best local insights of what to sample during our time in Hanoi. Brian and Ron at the front desk and breakfast manager were very engaging and David Pham (hotel manager) has excellent teams of staff who handled all the check-in and out details with the minimum of fuss and were hugely attentive throughout without being over-intrusive. At one point, I had a small paper-cut and almost before I knew it a staff member was already offering me a plaster! A couple of very minor points to note if this bothers you: 1) This hotel is on a very busy street (Hang Bac) in the Old Quarter, and some background street noise is evident in the rooms overlooking the main road. We weren't bothered by it, and neither were my parents/young children in my travelling party, but if you mind this kind of background street noise interrupting your sleep, you might request for a room towards the rear of the hotel. 2) The plumbing of the hotel is a little old, and tissues are not to be disposed of in the toilet bowl.

Out of all the hotels I have been to, Sapa, Cat-Ba Island, Hoi An, this hotel has been the absolute best. It is located right in the Old Quarter, within walking distance to all the best spots. They also have bikes for rent if you want to venture further without relying on taxis. This review will be a bit long but let me start from the beginning. We flew from BKK to Hanoi and our first 5-6 days were not in Hanoi. Nights 1-3 we took an overnight train Hanoi - Sapa and then Sapa back to Hanoi. When we first landed in Hanoi (going to Sapa), even though we were not yet guests at Marvellous they greeted us just as if we were. We got fresh fruit, welcome drinks, were able to take a shower, were able to keep our luggage at Marvellous and only take what we needed to Sapa and they provided us the 5 star service even though we only had 1 night booked in Hanoi (after Sapa, after Cat ba island). After we came back from Sapa (5 in the morning), they allowed us to temporarily sleep in the massage room and shower before heading off to Cat ba island. So after Cat ba island we finally arrived to spend our 2 days 1 night in Hanoi. Again they greeted us as if it was our first time there with their 5 star service, fresh welcome drinks, fresh fruit. Their service has never wavered during our stay. The next morning even though we were not looking to eat there for breakfast they called and even brought up fresh juice before we went to explore Hanoi. What makes this place truly truly one of a kind is the service. If I were to value this in terms of bang for your buck, this is all the way up there with many 5 star facilities I have been lucky enough to stay at for work. Even though my gf was a bit grumpy on our return to Hanoi from Catba island, the service staff at Marvellous made sure when she was speaking she was speaking to us both, it was not just speaking only to me because my native language is English, she made it a point to include my gf in our conversations and asking her f

We stayed at Allure Hotel for 3 nights recently. It is in a busy area of Hanoi's Old Quarter but was in a quiet part of the street. With double glazing to all the windows we were never troubled by outside noise. The Front desk Staff are very helpful and friendly. The Room is a nice size with a local view down the small street, which is always interesting. Good Bed, great shower and lots of hot water. Nice TV on the wall opposite the bed.. The Breakfast on the Bottom floor is not huge, but would probably be the best we have had in this month long trip to VN. The Breakfast supervisor is exceptional, and really looks after you.. They have everything you could want, Eggs any way, Bacon, Beans, tomatoes.. Good Bread & Pastries, Best Jam in VN, Lots of Asian delights, Noodles, rice, etc. This Hotel will be our First choice next time we visit.. no need to look anywhere else. The Staff are the Stars of this Hotel, so well trained and caring, can't say enough about them. Thanks Allure.!

Very nice interior. Conveniently located in Old Quarter area. Short walk from Hoan Kiem lake. Nice food places in the area include Banh Mi 25, Highlands Coffee and Fanny Ice cream. Night market is also about 2 streets away. Tip: don't buy north face, kanken n other branded stuff there as they are likely overpriced. Buy from shops instead. Bought a north face gortex jacket for 350,000 at the second shop to the right of the hotel (when exiting the hotel). Night market quoted double.

My husband and I stayed in this hotel for just one night on the way to Halong Bay the next day. The staff was extremely friendly, calm and helpful! The hotel is hidden in the Old Quarter of Hanoi between bustling streets and old buildings. Its like a hidden gem- the minute you walk in you realize you are in a small, clean. Overall: the hotel reception welcomes you at the door with a welcome tea and vietnamese candies, and personally guides you to the room to explain all details for you. So friendly!! The room has a fresh fruit basket, and complimentary goods. The rooms: the beds are very comfortable, the rooms are quiet (absolutely no noise from outside), the internet works great, the rooms are extremely clean and everything is new. Nice view of the streets from the room. Bathrooms are very clean. Breakfast included: the breakfast buffet is located on the top story of the building (with a beautiful view of the city).

My family of four had a wonderful stay in Noble Boutique Hotel for four nights! The room we stayed is a connecting room for 4 people with attached balcony, very clean and comfortable, worth more than what you've paid for. This hotel is situated at a very strategic location in Old Quarter. Hoan Kiem lake, water puppet show and St Joseph Cathedral are near, just around the corner, which can access by walking. The stuffs all are very friendly and helpful! Ms Mai gave us a lot of details about the old quarter street - coffee street (egg coffee), beer street (bia hoi), a list of famous restaurants and also tourists attraction. Its great for those who never do homework for Hanoi like us, we just follow the restaurant lists and the food of the restaurants they recommended are so delicious! Highly recommend this hotel when you want to visit Hanoi!

Superb. We stayed here on and off for a total of 7 days during the period from end June to beginning July. The staff was the most kind and professional of all our stays in Vietnam. Customer care certainly deserves their title for the reception staff helped us with everything from offering breakfast when we arrived early the first day, reminding us of afternoon tea time, suggesting a variety of old quarter and neighborhood places to eat, bus and car transfers, tours at reasonable prices to Ha Long Bay and more. Nothing was too much for them to do and I strongly recommend the Golden Cyclo Hotel for travelers to Hanoi. It is a jewel of a place tucked onto a small road just a short walk from the Old Quarter - as they say, "good things come in small packages".

Everything you need is in walking distance. The room was very big, compared with other hotels in Old Quarter and surprisingly, the rate is very reasonable. Would for sure come back to this hotel in my next trip in Hanoi

Our stay at Hanoi Delano was the best hotel experience we have ever had - this was mostly due to the superb customer service by all the lovely staff. We just could not thank Lucy, Ana, and Jack enough for all the help that they have kindly offered us throughout our stay. We loved seing their friendly smiles every morning, afternoon and evening. They became more like friends after we stayed there and we felt like the hotel was becoming a home away from home! In terms of facilities & room - room is great and spacious, decor takes on a french/victorian influence but still modern, and very clean. Wi fi was really fast too! Location is right in the heart of old quarter where everything pretty much is. 2 minutes walk from the best beef pho I have ever had in my life! You won't be able to find any hotel that gives you the same value for money in Hanoi. We were extremely satisfied with everything and were a bit sad to leave, but will most definitely come back to stay in Hanoi Delano soon! :)

Stayed here for 4D3N in Sep 2016. When we first arrived, we were welcomed by Andy, he was patient in explaining the do's & dont's in Hanoi and answering to our questions. The location was excellent (night market is just at the doorstep & 3mins walk to Hoan Kiem Lake). The variety for breakfast buffet changes everyday & it was delicious (better than the street foods). Had done a body scrub & back massage at O'Spa located at level 8 which was very relaxing. Overall, this hotel in Old Quarter is highly recommended.

We travelled in group for business trip and stayed at the Family room with balcony. Best experience ever: - location right in Old Quarters but on big road yet quiet, so we had very good sleeps, surrounded by famous and reasonable price restaurants, within walking distance to Hoan Kiem lake - clean - it's super rare to have such an excellent view: ancient houses, big trees right on your eye sight, down there the street corners and small, ancient pagoda -> a cup of coffee/ tea, a book in hand and you can spend whole day long - staff is caring so so much, they are so polite and gentle that even makes me embarrassed about our casual behaviors -> if you are on vacation and has no plan at all, just admit to the staff, they will plan and take care everything; if you know nothing about Hanoi (including what to eat), just tell them - breakfast is nice, good combination of buffet and a la cart, of Vietnamese and Western - like other hotels in Old Quarters, you should not expect huge rooms; but the hotel itself has creative design to make the rooms look spacious - all facilities and amenities are available, just bring your body and some basic clothes Definitely come back and strongly recommend to everyone

Nice and responsible owner. He contacted me about the information and ways to arrive the airbnb. For the aspect of house, the cleanness of house can be improved. There are so many mosquito in the room but we were seldom bitten by them luckily. This is located in the beer street so that you can reach to the club or restaurant conveniently . There is a Circle-k next to the entrance of house.The convinience is absolutely high for us. The design and wall drawing in the house are nice. We have taken a lot of pictures for it.
