Adventure in the jungle”
Air condition, hot water, electricity - forget about it! Instead, this hostel (or actually, three little single bungalows and a family-size bungalow-like house) offers an authentic experience in the Vietnamese jungle. Thanks to Jenny and her family, you will enjoy home-made food on her pepper farm (which, of course, includes home-grown pepper), take morning baths in the river nearby, meet local fishermen and learn how to find/cut/eat sea urchins in the ocean, explore the National Park nearby, and - maybe most importantly - you'll leave with a feeling that you met real people and discovered a little bit of the "real" Vietnam. If you are visiting Phu Quoc to have fun at the beach, stay a night or two and then move to one of the beach hotels in Duong Dong - you'll love the contrast, too!

A warm welcome in Phu Quoc”
family really cared for our well-being and solved all out problems (headaches, booking tickets) with great kindness. Additionally, for a little extra money, one can participate in the family dinner, enjoy the great meals prepared by staff and explore the varieties of Vietnamese cuisine. They also rent out motos so it is easy to get to the beautiful quiet beaches in the north of Phu Quoc. HINT: Make sure you contact Jenny before you arrive (email) so she can arrange some transfer for you or, alternatively, have a good map of the island with the exact location of the pepper farm marked on it. Some moto or taxi drivers will not find it otherwise.

Quite an adventure”
To summarize, it was fun. It is not a luxurious bungalow, in fact there is not electricity (not even a bulb light) in the room and the shower is bucket to throw water over you. Do not think of Wifi or similar. But to be a few days it is quite an experience try to change your clothes at night, driving the bike 18 km from main town to the pepper farm in the dark avoiding the dogs and cows on the road, listening all the wildlife (some noises were quite estrange)around the bungalow, or simply looking at the stars. The staff will help you to get to the airport, they will rent you motorbikes (150.000 VND per day, 5 EUR aprox), they will tell you where to go and what to do, they will saw you the pepper farm around, and they offer you dinner (150.000 VND per person, mainly seafood, I cannot say anything about because I didn´t try it). The breakfast was included and it consisted on a big cup, a very big cuo of coffee and two fry eggs with bread. Obviously it is one of the cheapest places in town. I will recommend this bungalows to people who want to stay in the inland for a few days (maybe after 3-4 days not find your clothes at night, or ask everyday at breakfast to charge the battery of your mobile phone is not so funny), who is not afraid of mosquitoes, ants, and other insects and most important people who want to go for a ride all the time as it is the only way to go around in pepper´s farm. With the money you save during the stay you can go an eat as much seafood as you want in the restaurants near the beach.

Great homestay to see the real vietnam”
Being here relaxed me the most on the whole vietnam trip. Here I could get an insight into vietnams culture through Jenny and her family. Because the Pepper Farm is quiet far from the Beaches we tried each day a new beach. We made a snorkling tour with Jenny and it is much different then the tourist stuff that's offered in Duoung Dong. I am sure we didn't the corals as nice as in the south (we were in the north) because the boat couldn't drive out that far (it was a wooden boat for just four people) but we got a day with a vietnamese couple that fished us fresh fish and see urchins. They prepared it right on the beach. It was great fun and we felt like real vietnameses. But be aware: this is no luxuary Bungalow. You don't have any electricity or a shower (just a barrel). It's perfect for peoples who want to explore the island and see more than one beach and get an insight into vietnams culture.

Nice stay at Pepper Farm. We recommend.”
Jenny is a great host and we felt comfortable and close to nature at the Pepper Farm. We had rented a motorbike to go around so the location was not a big problem. She organised activities and cooked great food. Would definitely recommend this affordable place. Don't forget your torch light as there is no electricity to get to the bungalows by night.

A different experience”
If you are looking for a 4/5 stars hotel in front of the beach, well, this is not your place. Pepper Farm is located in the middle of nowhere, with surrounding roads still under construction, so you have to hire a bike even if you do not want to. We stayed in a family wooden hut with an open bath, which was kind of surprising and at the same time fun, the room is big enough for 2 king size beds with mosquito nets, it also has a small balcony to look at the clear sky at night. Seafood is fantastic, we never went hungry here, plenty of food. Do not forget to buy their handmade pepper, just delicious. Very nice staff and good place to disconnect from the rest of the world.

A Great Stay ! ”
We had a great stay here - we stayed in the newer wooden cabins. It was awesome to shower under the stars, the water is cold but as it's pretty hot during the day it's nice to cool down. Make sure you're prepared to hire a scooter, it's very romote (which is cool) but it's to far to walk to the beach or to anywhere if you want food etc they're 10$ a day or so. The dinner is great - and well worth the 150 thousand dong - you will not go hungry!! The staff are friendly - we didn't meet the owners - and very polite. This place is well worth the money especially as so many other places on the island are over priced! We broke our time up and spent 3 nights here and 2 somewhere else and that worked for us perfectly. Tips - buy the pepper ! It's so good!! The newer huts have showers and 2 double beds :-)

Living like the locals”
The bungalows are very simple and authentic. But they offer all you need, and a proper toilet with proper flush. Bucket shower. Aircon/fan are not required because the bungalow offers perfect air ventilation due to its construction design already. Mosquito net is provided. Electric outlets available, only powered in the evening. The family who operates the hotel is doing a fabulous job and they are doing it with so much passion! All guests become members of the family and eat at the family table. Food simple, authentic and excellent! Location: Totally away from other houses. Countryside (no beach). Hotel is solar powered and uses solely LED lights in the bungalows. Motorbikes can be rented from the hotel to explore the surrounding. We have enjoyed it a lot. It was definitely a nice experience and very impressive and authentic.

beautiful and Jenny is a great host!”
I stayed at Jenny's pepperfarm with some friends. We could rent our motorbikes at her place and go from there to the rest of the island. We got tips about nice places to go and also got a tour guided by Jenny herself. That was amazing! She also cooked diner if we wished, which was very good. Breakfast was also very good. I definitely recommend her place; nice and cute bungalows surrounded by her pepperfarm. In the evening they put a lot of oil-lamps around the place and bungalows which gave the place an even greater atmosphere. I loved it!

Nice bungalow with less privacy”
We liked the location even it was quite far from the sea on the North side of the Island. We would prefer more privacy as we had because the bungalows are quite close to each other. The staff was ok but they were much more friendly with other guests than us. We don't know the reason but maybe there was some misunderstanding but because they do not speak so much English we could not figure out why. They have a nice farm run by the whole family which is really nice and cosy.

Basic farm stay but I love it!”
I love Pepper Farm and have stayed there twice in one month. You need to have a motorbike as a taxi will drop you off but you will be hard pressed getting another one to take you anywhere. I love its out of the way location and the basic bungalow facilities but my partner wasnt so keen on the frogs, lizards and outdoor bathroom etc. I will definately be going back again if I get the chance on my own as I find it all very relaxing. It is a little expensive for the standard of accommodation and although you can eat dinner there at 180,000d, I wouldnt be doing it too often, go out the gate and turn left and there is a nice riverside cafe who rent canoes who do a great meal for a 1/3 of the price and its new!! The staff are great. The dogs can be a problem if you dont like ringworm or like them hanging around you. Theyre not in the condition that I would like to pat them. Its a pity they dont look after them (others on the island look ok so I dont know why they dont look after theirs). Some kids may have a problem with the dogs. The dogs are a real turn off until they decide to worm them etc. During the day you can easily ride to beaches and go exploring. It is about 30mins from town so that could be a problem if you want to visit the night market and dont want to ride home in the dark.

Wow!”
Simple and cozy bungalows in the middle of unspoilt nature (which means bugs), but an amazing experience for those open to try something different than the resorts on the island. The perfect getaway!

Different experience”
The condition is relevantly good for a farm bungalow. It locates very far away from the town (20km+) and it's quite expensive to take a taxi to get there (250,000+VND) which might be the only disadvantages. The cousin of the staff ride us to a quiet northern beach which is the best experience of this trip! Food is charged by person (120,000 VND).

Bring your appetite”
Of course, you must be looking for this type of place. It won't do if you're thinking of a place on the beach in a 4 or 5 star hotel. You will be very disappointed. But if you're looking for a great place to bring a family (family rooms) or a tiny bungalow with no electricity during the day and a hammock out front then this is your place. And bring a good appetite. The food is superb, varied and truly out-of-this-world. You better like seafood!

nice experience!”
If you want to get away from it all and want to fall to sleep with the sound of crickets, frogs and other jungle life this is the place to be! Don't expect luxory, but the bungalows are very decent and convenient! Had a great stay and owners were very friendly and help full! They even went out at night to get painkillers for us, for which we were very grateful.

Nice and quiet”
This place is not for those that want hustle and bustle, but for those that want to get away from the crowds and do not mind roughing it a bit. Having said that, the wooden bungalows provide basic comfort and there was no problem with insect (some ants) or animals. The forested areas of the island are close-by and for nature lovers it is a great place to start.

sorry to day that ...”
I'd the chance to stay there a long term about 10 days. I loved really the bungalows, the nature there. But I was disappointed about the service. When I was reading the other testimonials I was very keen to be there, so booked the 10 days stay, which was a mistake at the end. Why? Well, sorry to say that, I had always to ask for a nice better food. The owner really watch the money al the time so u pay a lot for food which isn't really great. In the morning u get always crumpled eggs with dry bread if u not tell to have a better nice soup. Even the they really can cook well what u always have somewhere else. I went many times to other place where I got absolut nice dishes to the half of the price. Next think was to get a discount for the rent for a bike because you need it really there to get somewhere. It took 3 days to get an answer and then at they end they charged me the bike cheaper from that day the owner decided to give me the discount. The other days I had to pay the high price. Then its normal having animals in ur room, because its jungle. I told them about the rat who was on my bed or moskitonet all night. No reaction really. Just one day the net got changed. I think that's not really if u pay quite more for a 1* accomondation. The last think I had to leave early, and told that I need the breakfast earlier.I just got a egg with the excuse that they don't have anything to eat. So I paid 2,50€ for a egg!! Wow. Sorry to say that, but the farm needs to improve their service and should stop thinking about money a lot. U always feel that their. Otherwise i can't recommend that place really.
