Very good location, quiet, spacious room with ocean view”
The hotel is very much within walking distance to the ocean and to city center, yet it’s very quiet and very clean. A very good French restaurant, Bistro 9, is located nearby as well as some nice seafood places populated with locals. Room is clean, well equipped and very spacious ! If you book an ocean view room, higher floor is recommended. Staff are friendly and courteous. Breakfast is adequate. We would stay at this hotel again in our next visit to Vung Tau.

Thieves working for the hotel ”
I had bad experience with Petro hotel as an employee that had access to the room safe and removed $850 US from my wallet, no one else had access to that other than employee, I did not discover that the money was missing until I was out the country I’m very upset and it is a very costly lesson , for that reason I will not return or recommend to anyone

Booked apartment but stayed in suite”
Everything was so great except we booked and paid more for apartment but they offered me the petro suite which it smaller with no kitchen, Agoda couldn't helped. Because hotel explained they have no apartment as is showed on Agoda. Anyway u should not book apartment unless u want to pay more to stay in petro suite. Everything else was great, big suite, room service awesome, breakfast buffet delicious, staffs friendly accept staffs worked in restaurant. The most important thing I like is the jacuzzi bathtub that you hardly find even in 5 star hotel. Loved it. And the reasonable price can beat anywhere. I will still stay here for next visit vung tau even though the problem I've had here

Central and Quality Hotel but with very tacky Spa ”
Ive been visiting Vung Tau many times; this is my first time at Petro Hotel. Im pleasantly surprised by the quality of the room and service. I will come back in my next visit. My only complaint is their spa. I love getting massages and make it a point to make time for a massage when in Vietnam. When I entered the spa, reception was quick and friendly. However, it went down from there. Noone led me to where I was to sit; so ended up following a staff, who I thought was leading me to the place, into their staff locker room. At the massage area, the aircon was turned off!!!! It was so not comfortable. And there was a male customer being massaged by a female staff. He was on a lounge chair, but was being done with BODY MASSAGE. The female staff was bending over so low (since the chair is low), her breasts could be seen. The atmosphere felt cheap and tacky. So I ended up leaving the spa. Minus their spa service, its one of Vung Tau's better hotels.

Petro hotel is always our favorite hotel in Vung Tau is heaps better than other 4 stars hotels in Vung Tau, same rate but 10 times better than others. I reckon everyone to stay in this hotel. Also you can enjoy free dog racing at night from the hotel.

Vung Tau is small enough to work from place to place, but the Petro Hotel was in a good location. It was on a quiet side street with a nice view of the sea. The pool was nice and relaxing. The breakfast was free, but lacking in anything special.

I paid for what i expected. The room is big, we have 2 restrooms for Suit Petro room type. Even location is not near the front beach but Vung Tau is too small, only 5 or 7 minutes to get to the beach.

well this is not the 1st time i have been to Vung Tau and i have tried numerous hotel in this area. i must say that Petro Hotel is still the best in Vung Tau although it cost more than the serrounding hotel. they have a good spa with no extra frills, 2 wonderful coffee house, decent room service, fast speed internet for your business need and great location for bars. i will definately stay here again if i was given a choice hands down.

Great hotel, the room was perfect, beautiful view & comfortable bed. The staff was attentive & the location is great for exploring Vung Tau. Unfortunately we were not impressed with breakfast. Not geared for western tastes, insufficient fruit, the pastries were terrible, hard, tasteless. The baguettes were stale, no brown bread. I ordered scrambled eggs, waited at my table for a while, went to the counter nobody there, reached over to get my eggs, of course they were cold. So, not impressed.

The Petro hotel is a good hotel in Vung Tau. The rooms are large but in need of a makeover, especially the carpets which are stained. The pool is large and was a comfortable temperature.. the morning buffet offers Vietnamese and Western choices. The price is reasonable.
