Everything seems alright except that it's far from places if interest. Also if you have heavy luggages, you are in trouble! This hotel has no lift!

Iconic Hotel that gives a Great Sense of History”
I really liked my stay at the Petro as it offered an old-world feel to Vung Tau despite being a distance from the beach compared to the other hotels, but only a little bit more. Breakfast is not buffet-type which was a welcome break as you get served either indoors or at the verandah that looks out into the street. If you have it early in the morning (before 7:30AM), the street will be quiet but with enough activity to transport you in time. As this is an old hotel, expect the cracks to be showing, the maintenance of wall and ceiling paint to not be up to par, for tv sets to be the box-type with poor reception.

Good location & service”
The hotel was a bit old but well-maintained. Really appreciated the staff, from bell boys to receptionists. They helped manage me and my friend to get a van back to Ho Chi Minh City with a professional driver unlike the way from Ho Chi Minh, Mien Dong Station, to Vung Tau which took 1 hour slower and a very terrible driver. I would recommend the hotel staff catch a van back to Ho Chi Minh. The room was good, every thing is good except curtain which could not perfectly be closed especially when my room could be seen from the hall way. I recommend having hair clips with you in order to solve this problem as my friend's room faced the same situation. A hair clip can easily be a hero when accommodating in this hotel. Well, in overall, the hotel is good with very helpful staff. Only an improvement required is that to fix all curtains.

Love staying here - 2 times: 1 company trip & 1 personal vacation”
The staff is very nice from the front desk to clean ladies. I went here 2 times and absolutely pleased with them. They also upgraded from deluxe to deluxe suit for me. The 1st time (company trip) my colleagues got the executive room without paying any extra money. Although the hotel is quite far from the back beach of Vung Tau but we enjoyed good service.

Small hotel with big heart”
Its my 3rd visit to Vungtau, and 2nd time to stay at Petro House Hotel. Location was fairly convenient, within the 'city center'. Vungtau is a resort/seaside town, peppered with spas/coffee houses/bars/Italian and western-type restaurants. Prices in these restaurants are still cheap. Even the humble french bread/bagette is freshly baked everyday. Unless its a holiday over there, this sleepy town is a pleasure to walk around the park/coastal/beach areas. Renting a motorbike at per day to sightsee is the cheapest way anywhere. Sit back and relax for a cuppa of local brew (Vietnamese coffee is one of the best, hot or cold, black or white, its one of the best i've tasted so far.... and ITS CHEAP!!! If you must get into the hustle and bustle of city-life, jump onto the ferry (terminal is barely 5 mins away)

Good hotel for the money”
This hotel was really nice. Our room was more like an apartment. We had 2 TV's, a living room, 2 bathrooms and a bedroom. We were there in August 2012 and there was a big construction project going on next door. We could reach out our window and touch the concrete. They started construction around 6am and it was very very loud. I would recommend asking for a room on the opposite side of the hotel. The hot water in the shower was not very hot at all. If I did got back to Vung Tau, I would stay on the other beach.

Amazing room, service and location!”
I stayed in a deluxe suite with my son, for the price of a regular room thanks to Agoda. Although the hotel has no lift, it only has 2 floors so we managed. The suite was beautiful, big, clean and very modern. 2 huge tv's and a very well furnished living room, bedroom and bathroom. The water pressure isn't too good in the shower though so you must be patient to get cleaned up after the beach! The location is great, right in the middle of everything and only 10 minutes away by taxi to the beautiful quiet back beach. The front beach is a few minutes walk but certainly not as nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the restaurant was good enough. Reasonable prices too. I really recommend this hotel, especially if you can get a suite deal with Agoda. Really worth it!

Value for money, excellent staff and location. It's only about 200 metres close to the beach.”
I book this hotel everytime my family go to Vung Tau for weekend relaxation. I love this hotel because of its honest pricing policy without marking up the price although it's peak or off-peak season. The staffs is very friendly, too.

Nice standard hotel.”
This is the third time I'm staying at Petro House. I feel this is a standard hotel for business travellers given the price for a standard room. Bed is big, bathroom is relatively new. Everything is clean. Breakfast variety isn't much, but no complaints.

Like a colonial house”
petro house hotel looks like a colonial house, and locationl-wise, is quite a walk away fr the front beach. but thats ok, because we love walking. its the only way to get a feel of the place you're visiting. the facade of the hotel looks regal with large columns at the entrance. the room we're allocated is a suite, very comfortable and have been recently renovated, (definitely value for money). my husband loves the two large tvs in the room, plus all the sports channels he can watch. the staff were all very helpful and always courteous.

Great Location and loved the room”
petro house is clean and the rooms are a good value for what you get. the checking in and out is a little antiquated but other than that it is very good place to stay. it has an expatriate grocery store just across the corner and money changer just next door. the monte carlo casino down stairs is nice although there are no dealers, only machine games. it is only a short walk to the front beach, many restaurants, and bars.

Great service throughout, large rooms & huge beds.”
After checking in we were pleasantly surprised to be shown to a Suite with ensuite, powder room, Lounge, 2 televisions, 1 in the bedroom, 1 in Lounge room. The in-house Restaurant serves Malaysian Cruisine, excellent breakfast. Staff very polite. We would definitely recommend this Hotel. Close to Hairdressers, Clothes shops, ATM's, Bars. Great place to relax.
