Truly, a Utopia! ”
Friends were recommending that I book a place in the West or south of the island for the 'best beaches', easy access..etc.. But I ended up booking Utopia in the NORTH! -- and it was THE BEST DECISION ever. I gingerly booked it for 3 nights first as this was my first time there and I wasn't sure but the pics in the ad reminded me of some Corsican or Italian coastal resorts with the little houses dotting the hills -- it all looked good along with the attractive price -- so I went for it. When I finally got to the island and traveled the south and west and tried to see where else we could stay for the rest of our total 10 day vacation, we concluded that we truly had the BEST resort! A friend who's been on the island for a long time said that it was a "no-brainer" if you're looking for peace, quiet and beauty - away from the maddening city center crowds and Full Moon parties.... In any case, the island is so small, that it's nothing to travel from one site to another! The NORTH is the place to stay! And guess what else, the BEST beaches for snorkelling and swimming were RIGHT by us -- at Chalomklum and Haad Khom (Coconut Beach -same stretch) We met folks who had traveled all the way from the south of Phangan to come here to Haad Khom and Koh Mak to snorkel! Besides, there's the great Sunday night food market by the Chalomklum pier! The Resort is just lovely, up on a hill -- people from all over the island come up to 360/ 420 club for a bite and drink while taking in the awesome sunset. Every morning at 6, I went up to the restaurant area to meditate and take in the similarly awesome sunrise! The rooms are spacious and we had a room which was just steps away from the swimming pool which overlooks the ocean. The resort is perfect to disconnect and relax in its pool with the incredible views. The room was pretty nice and it has a lot of space, big bed, nice bathroom. Hotel offers daily transport for free to some of the near bay beaches. We used our moto but it is a good service to take into account. The included breakfast is as nice and price in general was good, . We recommend the stay!

A complete place! The Best! ”
The staff are very helpful and welcoming. They help you arrange everything. The bike rent, the taxi and even the return trip that too at the best price. Loved my stay. The scenic beauty is beyond expectations. Just it's at the other end of the island from the main Haad Rin beach where you have the full moon party. But if you are looking for a calm place for stay and don't mind riding to the beach for the party and this is the best place for you. Highly recommended!

Amazing Views and Best Sunset viewpoint”
Utopia has the best cliff view rooms and the staff is very friendly. The 420 restaurant and bar is the best place there is to watch the sunset, better grab the seat fast atleast 1.5 hrs ahead as it gets crowded fast.

Loved everthing about this place. Room, staffs, location and the view!! Location was a bit challenge at first but it comes with the view!! Room was beautiful abd comfortable. Staffs were kind and friendly. Very good for money and definately will be back. Highly recommended.

A good hotel (slightly older construction) with decent breakfast. The view is honestly the main reason we got this place. The location isn't ideal because everything is 20-40 mins away, however, the roads are great so if you're confortable riding 2 Wheelers, you are sorted.

The sea view room was outstanding. The view from the room was amazing. You should hire a bike or a car, as its quite away from the main road. The hotel is located on top of the hill and its quite an incline. The staff will arrange excursion and travel to other island. This place is good for travellers looking for quite and relaxing place to stay.

We visitedas a honeymoon in the down-season, so the place wasn't fully operational. But the room (Jacuzzi view) was exactly as pictured, and exactly what we'd hoped for. Take care climbing the steep mountain for the last 200 metres is you are on a small motorbike with bags - we couldn't quite make it! But that's how we get the mountaintop views and breezes. Would visit again, maybe even with children & pets!

Hidden gems Bungalows ”
This place is located on Private property (up to the hill) with an amazing view both from restaurant and rooms. 5mins or less ride to Mae haad beach and a gorgeous Koh Ma (separate sea) also its walkable. Staff are very attentive and super friendly as it makes you feel welcomed.

For the rate we paid over several nights we were overall satisfied enough. The great views and quiet location on a hill was superb. The staff was super awesome! Be forewarned that some of the rooms are in serious need of TLC (close to unusable), some are newish, and some look really great - know what you will get before you go. We changed rooms several times for various reasons and they were helpful. Breakfasts were great as was the pool area. This resort would be top notch with some dedicated updating and fixing - the cleaning was good everyday but some of the rooms are simply in disrepair and no amount of cleaning can overcome those issues. We hope to return knowing what we know and would recommend to those on a reasonable budget, who also want a quiet little retreat near beaches.

Might have been good a while ago”
No shade at the pool, pool bar not opened, demaged tiles Restaurant only opened for breakfast, after that you need to go to 420 club, which is a run down abandoned construction site. Rooms are clean but that’s it, doors don’t shut completely, one of our rooms didn’t have a tv in it, fridge smells like it had not been opened for 2 years, lights mostly don’t work, bathrooms are run down, filled with ants, an empty planter, valves that were broken and just replaced with plastic garden hose valves and windows not closing properly, so if you want a zoo in your bathroom, this is the place for you. We are contacting Agoda support, as this is not the “resort” it advertises to be…
