Long Beach Chalet is well located on the eponymous beach (a.k.a. Pra Ae beach). The staff go out of their way to help but never disturb if you don't want to see anybody. The beach is long and very close by (300m walk past the pool). It is best to get a scooter or other mode of transport to explore restaurants and other destinations around this very nice island. Long Beach Chalet is well located, close enough to the main area yet far enough away to be quiet. Best to choose a room that is not too close to the main road though.

The Lanta Sand Resort & Spa is the best looking accommodation on the Phra Ae beach. Rooms were great (deluxe balcony), though the shower was somewhat poor. Nice clean pools (3) and very comfortable beach chairs. Spa was a real treat, though more pricy compared to what was offered on the beach itself. Overall a very nice experience.

We had a great stay at Lanta Resort. We booked a Deluxe Bungalow which was located 50 m from the water. No bungalows had directly acces to the beach because of one of the resturants so all of them had about 50 m to the water. The bungalow was superhuge and had a very nice bathroom with both a shower and a bathtub. The staff did a great job whit the cleaning and did always put some kind of flower or toweldecoration (like a duck or elephant). The breakfast was standard. Good location of the hotel, you can walk to 7/11 in 10 minutes and take a tuktuk to Ban Saladan for 100bath (feb 2018) which took 10 minutes. Thai cat was the best resturant at Long beach and was also located nearby the hotel. You can also rent a scooter at the hotel which was comfortable and felt more secure that renting from a private seller (good to know is that no insurance is available at any scooter rental in Koh Lanta) We had some issues with geckos at night because of the sound they make, but no big problem!

It might sound I'm exaggerating about this luxurious resort, but from the moment I arrived at this resort I was so impressed. The staff was so attentive and friendly. The garden was big, clean and beautiful. The surroundings were just stunning. The resort is located in a perfect area of the island which is, of course, directly to the beach. You will be pampered and spoiled from the service they provide. Breakfast was just excellent. I have to say that they use high quality ingredients and raw materials. The room rate is expensive, but it worths every cent you pay for. You will not regret it. I didn't try their food, but I guess it should be at high standard as the breakfast was superb. The price of the food was affordable. But if you don't want to try the food at the resort every night, you may get a bike from the resort or just walk out and get a "special" kind of taxi (motorbike) to nearby restaurants such as Cook-Kai, or somewhere further for example Khao Yai and Richey. I stayed at the resort for 6 nights and during that time, I couldn't complain anything. Whether you hang by the pool or by the beach, the staff will provide you cold water, cold towels, and fruits free of charge whenever you want it! It was just great. Every Tuesday from 18:00-19:00 they will have "wine testing" with finger food as complimentary for the guests. The management will come and meet the guests while you can sip glasses of wine and have good conversations with the management and other guests. I will definitely come back to this resort again. Also, I would recommend the spa. Their spa is one of the best spas in the world. This is something that you should never miss. You can also try their day trips to the islands and some other activities the resort arrange. The price is a little bit more expensive than booking from the agents outside the resort, however, booking with the resort, it can be more private and safer. All in all, this resort was one the best places I've ever stayed.

Our stay was the best we could hope for.after couple of years visiting all beaches from phuket,phiphi,samui,phangan,koh tao, sayang resort on ko lantas long beach became our dream come true. Great soft sandy beach,no rocks in water (can swimm without hurting yourself), simple yet very nice wooden bungallows in garden setting right on beah,whats totally necessary for our age (67yrs) are provided sunbeds in shadow,which isvrather a rarity on ko lanta beautifull beaches. Staff is extraordinary helpful and nice,it is for a reason that sayang gets so high ratings from gueats and i can only confirm those. So if you like nature,traquillity,prefer bungalows instead od big hotels and like to have breakfast in garden setting or dinners right on beach while watching sunsets,this is your place. If u borrow scooter,then u are totally free as of exploring other beaches or heading for dinner as there are hundreds of options within 10min drive,should u get bored by 2km long beach And its dozens of dinner/lunch options. We shall return for sure,not only to lanta,but specially to sayang.

La Casuarina is a great value hotel. Our room did not have a beach view, but it did not matter as we did not spend much time in the room. The hotel is located centrally on Phra Ae beach which is a lovely 4 km stretch of white sand ... great for morning and afternoon walks. There are restaurants (mostly to the north of the hotel), although the hotel restaurant is also a good place to eat. The pool faces the beach and has an infinitely edge which is a nice feature. Staff are friendly and very helpful. We would stay there again!

The location is definitely the strong point here. Only about 10 mins drive from the ferry in Saladan, next to a beautiful and often empty beach. We stayed in a 4-person penthouse which turned out to be as spacious as we expected. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a huge living room and a loft space upstairs. The rooms were clean and well maintained. So was the living room with its kitchen part. The kitchen was equipped with plates, cutlery, coffee express, fridge etc. The bathrooms were fairly clean although one smelled a bit. Even after mentioning it to the receptionist and having it cleaned. Also the ventilation fan in one of them was extremely noisy for a few minutes every time we turned it on. It sounded like a chainsaw. The staff cleaned the apartment and changed the bed linen and towels every 3 days which was enough but if you like the hotel style if everyday room making then it's not a place for you. They don't provide soap, shampoo, etc. and there is no hair dryer in the apartment but you can borrow one from the reception. The view from our apartment was great, especially sunsets. There is quite a big terrace with chairs and a table, too. You can borrow books and DVDs from the reception for free and watch them in the room as there is a big tv and a DVD player. Only the bedrooms have A/C which makes staying in the living room a bit uncomfortable during summer heat. It's really big with very high ceiling so it takes literally days to cool down using only bedrooms aircon. The staff was friendly and helpful although there was one unpleasant moment. We wanted to book a minivan to the airport and the receptionist told us a price 50 baht higher than at any tourist service shop. The pool! It's really big and deep enough to have a comfortable swim. Overall, a very good place to stay for groups of 4 and more. Very easy access to the beach. Many bars and restaurants around. Very good coffee at a coffee shop nearby with a logo looking much like Starbucks

we were very impressed with the location, service, gardens, size of the room and the pool at the soontreeya lanta. it is a small hotel complex of 6 duplex bungalows about 75 metres from the south end of long beach or prae ae beach. the staff cleaned the room daily and saw to it that the linens were changed frequently and the towels brought to the room later in the day. breakfast was the usual eggs, fruit, juice and toast and the hosts were not afraid to make you another cup of coffee which wasn't fresh brewed as they used instant. there is an adjacent property that has a restaurant called the marina resort and they had a great little thai restaurant on the beach that was a short walf, 75 metres or less from the best feature of the hotel, the pool. yes in our stay there we seldom saw anyone at the infinity pool that had a partial ocean view so we enjoyed it immensley as the tide was out on the beach and there was enough rocks that swimming was a little iffy at times. one just has to walk about 150 metres north and you wind up on the great beach with several kilometres of sand and few people as we were on long beach in low and high season and it was very wide open with few people on the beach.

This hotel is on the beach and there is a great view of the ocean from the verandah and restaurant. The room is really comfortable, clean, the bed is comfortable, the open roof bathroom is nice. The wifi is good and the food is good too. Is fairly quiet at Phra Ae Beach but if you're looking for a relaxing place, this is great. You can walk to shops and other restaurants, bars etc. and they can organise onward transport. The lady who manages the places is lovely and the man who takes care of the restaurant and other stuff is really nice too.

As always this resort lives by its name. Quiet, calm and relaxing. The rooms are spacious, large fridge, good balcony especially upstairs overlooking pool. Pool itself is great, short walk down quiet lane to best section of long beach in 3 mins, staff very helpful and cleaning ladies exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble. Several local restaurants close by on main road and beach . ‘Tiw Lay on the beach, uncle O’s on the road are great. Will return again on the next trip when we will see on site restaurant operational.

Let me preface this by saying that we went in low season and got an AH-mazing deal on the room. A one bedroom suite with pool access for less than 700 baht per night (including taxes). There is no way we could have passed that up. The hotel staff were wonderful. My friend forgot her toothbrush and asked if the hotel had any. They actually went out and BOUGHT toothbrushes. Also, they rented a bike to us for less than the posted price (and didn't even charge us for the second day's rental). The infinity pool as absolutely amazing. It was great to come back from the beach or a boat trip and just rinse under the outdoor shower and jump right in for a quick dip. The bed was quite comfortable, but the pillows were a bit too firm. We ended up using the throw pillows instead, as they were much less thick. The internet doesn't really reach into the bedroom, so we would have to sit in the living room if we wanted to connect to it. And the location is a bit... inconvenient? The driveway itself isn't far from most things, but it is a loooong, trenched, rocky, dirt driveway. The van dropped us on the main road and then we had to walk the driveway with our bags in the dead heat. And you can't really see the hotel from the driveway until you come around a corner. We weren't 100% sure we were on the right road... Unless you want to always be a hot, sweaty mess everytime you leave and return to the hotel, a motorbike rental is necessary. The posted price is 250 per day. Another thing to keep in mind is that there is a 1,000 baht deposit. I wish hotels would start putting this in the listing, because that's a lot of vacation money to hand over and not get back until the END of the vacation. However, all in all, it was a wonderful find and I am very happy we chose to stay at Lanta Sport Resort. If they have deals like this again, I would definitely stay here in the future. Great staff, wonderful pool, amazing room, mediocre wifi, long, dusty driveway.

We booked two nights at Siri Lanta on the basis of their photos as there were no reviews at the time - finding out they only opened ten days earlier on arrival. Were happy to discover the photos were spot on and it's a beautiful little hotel with spotless rooms and a great pool. Staff were awesome too. Breakfast was up there with the best we've had in Thailad and WIFI strong too (I work online). We ended up staying 8 nights and would have stayed longer if it wasn't right at the top end of our budget - though it is likely the best hotel on Ko Lanta at current prices. Expect them to shoot up when it's a little more established! Since it's new most drivers might have a little trouble finding it.. we tended to ask for Lanta Eco Resort which is well known and close by. Probably a ten minute walk to the beach but don't let that put you off - would be three times the price if it was just over the road!

Lanta Manda Resort is a nice mid-range resort off the main road in the Phra Ae area of Koh Lanta. The resort is not on the beach, but it is only perhaps a 200m walk away. I personally preferred Phra Ae beach to Klong Dao. It is less crowded and the shell hunting is very fun. The cottages have A/C, fridge, safe, hot water showers and nice little porch in the front and back. The decor is slightly dated, but not bad at all. The resort has a decent little pool, but I didn't use it since the beach was so close. I would stay here again

Lazy Days Bungalows is a delightful, tranquil location to relax. Plenty of outdoor lounging locations and located on a quiet stretch of white sand beach. Morning walks are interesting with the local wooden boats going out to fish. In the late afternoon and evening you should stroll down for a massage. I'm not a huge fan of massages but these girls worked out knots that I didn't think could come out. I would love to spend another hour with them. The Bungalows do provide earplugs which I quickly discovered was for the noise of the waves. If you are not use to it, you will sleep like a baby with the earplugs. The restaurant was the nicest surprise. The chef creates a special menu for the evening and it is worth every penny! He has a real taste for creating complimentary flavors. Breakfasts were fabulous also. Even if you are not staying here, this restaurant is worth a local taxi bike ride (very cheap) to enjoy the food, service and beach location. The owner and all of the staff are professional, friendly, and willing to help anyway they can. Any of the scuba diving shops in the area will pick you up here too. I hope I get to return soon.

our stay was off season when much on koh lanta was closed. we only saw one other couple at the resort so i'm sure our visit would be very different if we came at peak time. the resort was maintained by skeleton staff and pretty well all the services were closed. the staff were however cheerful and helpful. we enjoyed the peace and usually had the beach to ourselves. being the off season meant that the waves were up [quite big] but making a shore dump and that there was a lot of rubbish that had been washed up on the beach. we loved our luxurious bungalow, very clean and comfortable. by the second day though there was a real stink coming up the drain. this seems to be a problem mentioned in the reviews of other hotels as well and i suspect it has something to do with the manner of waste disposal / lack of proper sewage. off season koh lanta was a wonderful peaceful break from the bustle of bangkok but if you want to party you would need to come at a different time.

Good service, and a (relatively) clean hotel located right on the beach. Beach is absolutely wonderful and there aren't rocks. Great value for the money, especially during the holidays (and booked last-minute). You won't be sorry with the location--many good restaurants and bars are located around the town to the north and scattered down the main road and beach to the south--so you are right in the middle of the action. Great location on Long Beach. Renting a motorbike (possible at the hotel) is a must, if you want to see the island. There are several tours and activities which can be arranged at the front desk (which is typical for hotels in Lanta). There are some restaurants within walking distance on the main street, and there are several restaurants down the beach in either direction. Getting around by tuk-tuk is practical, if you don't want to risk renting a motorbike. Breakfast is standard for southern Thailand--nothing fancy, but not bad. We had identical breakfasts in Phuket and Khao Lak. There are two pools. The main pool near the front desk is about 5 meters x 10 meters and usually has a few people in and around it. The second, smaller pool is usually pretty vacant, for some reason, but not bad. There is a massage booth next to the hotel for reasonable rates. When the hotel was at full-capacity during the 2016-2017 winter holidays, it didn't feel very crowded. The atmosphere was very relaxed and tranquil, and we would often not be bothered by anyone around the hotel at night. Besides a few random young, drunk Europeans. Note that the hotel is currently building quite a few extra rooms on the southeast side of the hotel (about 20), but this shouldn't add too much discomfort (breakfast might be a little crowded in the future, however). We stayed in a bungalow with an ocean view (most rooms are bungalows). The room is a bit dated (looks to be about 10-15 years old and maybe rebuilt after the 2004 tsunami), but no major issues. We research hotel sites, then do "walk abouts" to find the best facility for the best value to money. This is it! We book two days then explore for better deals. Save yourself the time. Long Beach has great sand, the lovely crescent, no jellyfish (at least nothing in late May, early April) and one of the greatest staffs you'll find at any resort. From the engaged, awesomely professional Mr. Tee to his manager Mr. Chi. There were ants, but they took care of them immediately. It's an older facility, but a far better value than the newer ones, some of which don't even have a pool! The breakfast is made for you on the spot, great food! Save yourself some work and stay there. They'll immediately fix any problem you may have.

My room was very big and comfortable. It was cleaned everyday by the very nice lady who always had a smile on her face. It was nice having morning coffee outside on the patio, or even the hammock when it's not too hot outside. There were occasional problems with WiFi but if somebody tells the staff, they usually try to fix it ASAP. The location is about 10-12 min walk to Phra Ae Beach. There's a couple restaurants across the street and a good coffee/bakery place (Captain Bakery). You really need a scooter to get around freely, but tuk tuks are available..you just flag them down on the street. Overall, I enjoyed my stay here!

Baan Long Beach is just minutes from the centre of Phrae Ae beach, and also from the main road that runs behind it - the location is great, with several restaurants and also beach bars less than ten minutes walk away. The room we stayed in was beautiful - lovely beds, with a wall 2/3 of the way across the room between them providing privacy, plenty of storage space, a fridge and a small balcony area. Lovely and recommended.

We stayed here for 1 wk and i didnt want to leave, everything was perfect, they met us at the pier wen we got off the ferry and drove us to the resort, check in was quick and easy, they carried our bags to our bungalow and showed us how everything worked like air con and safe. The bathroom was really clean and the shower was amazing. The bed was really comfy. We had a hammock on our balcony which was great for lazing in the shade during the mid day sun. The beach is nice and about a min walk from resort with lots of bars. There was also a mini mart right next door which was really handy. All of the staff are really friendly and speak good english, they go out of their way to help u and make ur stay enjoyable. We booked a day trip to the phi phi islands through the resort which ran really smoothly and we also booked our travel from koh lanta to koh phangan through them and that also went really smoothly, it took the stress out of doing it ur self. The food at the bar and restaurant is really good, i had breakfast there everyday and lunch most days, we did have a few evening meals as well. They have a computer in the reception, we needed to print off booking confirmations so that made it easy. Every day we got clean towels and bedding and two bottles of water in our fridge, little things like that make all the difference. I would defiantly recommend this place, it has everything u need and is so relaxing, we went to the beach every evening to watch the most amazing sunsets, if u want to explore the island they do motorbike, car and bicycle hire or there is a taxi rank out side the resort. If we come back to Thailand again i would defiantly stay there again😊

Overall this was a solid place to stay for being near Pra Ae beach and if you want to go to one of the parties at Pangea beach bar. The staff were very attentive and helpful. The bungalows are basic, but they are clean and the shower/air conditioning is very adequate. The beds and bedding could be upgraded to be more comfortable. The property was surprisingly quiet and the curtains keep the rooms dark.

This was my second time in Best House. Was here before in 2015. The guesthouse is right next to the beach with all the restaurants available. Of all the beaches ive visited in koh lanta, long beach is the cleanest and it is situated on the right side to see the sunset. The owners are reliable and really nice. I was traveling with a friend, we were put in a king size bed. My friend could not sleep in the same bed (i was moving about during the night), we asked to be situated in another room with twin beds. The guesthouse was fully booked so they brought a extra bed in. How nice! Also the room was cleaned very well every single day. We were greeted when we arrived (pretty late) and wished goodbye in the early morning. Really love this place and definately would come back again.

We stayed in the garden bungalow in August 2012. This hotel is well situated on the south end of Phra Ae Beach. We got a good deal on the garden bungalow room which a cosy, rustic bungalow style accommodation with basic facilities. The staff and owners are friendly and more than willing to help where possible. Perfect for a backpacking couple looking for good value accommodation. Restaurant is decent with good variety. Beach bar is cool with direct access to the beach.

Clean, comfortable, delicious breakfasts and great location! Just a few steps to the best beach on Ko Lanta! This was a Wonderful week stop on our holiday. A typhoon closed in and we were forced to stay while DaDa and her brother Habib made us feel like family! We absolutely loved out stay at Tammarind Twin Resort. The room was very spacious, lovely and new and very clean and comfortable. Location is terrific as it is less than a 5 minute walk from Pra Ae beach. Would highly recommend this place to stay!!

As a solo traveler working at the same time online, i was looking for a comfortable place with a good internet connection. Escape cabins was just perfect for that... so good that i stayed 2 months ! Yuko, the owner, makes everything to make your stay perfect. The place is very cheap for the comfort you have. Every houses are equipped with a fridge, kettle, some have a kitchen. There is a swimming-pool which will fit families. Also the place is quiet because not directly on the beach or the main road. The restaurants near are good and cheap and the beach is a 5 minutes walk. You can also enjoy the gym just near. I would highly recommend to hire a motorbike if you want to be free, which is absolutely not dangerous on ko lanta. Yuko can have a good daily rate for you. Don't go directly to a motorbike rental! Overall i liked the honesty of the owner.

There are so many reasons to recommend Eco Lanta to anyone thinking of visiting Thailand. First off, I think Koh Lanta is the best island in Thailand and this is not my first time coming here. The location within the island is spot on, located centrally on Long Beach, you are near to local amenities but far enough away from the noisier parts of the island. The staff are fantastic - there was never anything too much for them to help us with. The bar and restaurant staff were brilliant. Food was great! Cocktails during happy hour were some of the cheapest on the island but still super-tasty (not watered-down like in many other places). Even the massage ladies were the best! I practically live in hotels for work so I know a thing or two about hotels and I felt like I could live here forever - it was that good!

We first had a booking including three nights but it ended with us extending the stay to totally nine nights because we enjoyed this place so much! The staff is so helpful and caring and we felt like a part of the family after a while! Super clean rooms with everything you’ll need, good location to both restaurants and the beach. If you hade any questions or want reccomendations - Susan and Bang will help you with all of their heart! Rating: 5/5 - best stay in Thailand so far!

Really pleased with our stay at chomview for the cheap price. Rooms and balconies were big (stayed in a connecting room with our children). Pool was refreshing, we never ate at the hotel so can’t comment on food. Check in and out was easy and friendly, staff called us a tuk tuk to old town when we discussed visiting (400 thb). We are four very white individuals so walking down to the beach was a challenge in the 35 degree heat although it’s only 10 mins.

We wanted a nice place to stay in Koh Lanta on our honeymoon and picked this place because it had a kitchenette. We later learned it’s very expensive to buy groceries and its actually cheaper to eat out. This is a great place for a families, with a narrow shallow pool. Our room was huge, but there is only A/C in the bedroom, not the kitchen area. The WiFi is AWFUL. You have to go downstairs to us it, which was annoying. The hotel is in a good location, near Long Beach which is better to swim for families with kids. The hotel arranged a scooter for us for 200 THB a day. We ended up leaving after 3 nights and spent the rest of our time on Klong Kong beach which has a more laid back, chill vibe with cheaper accommodations which is what we were going for.
