My friend and I had an adequate no-frills night's stay here. The overall cleanliness of the room was good although there is room for improvement for the toilet's condition. The staff were very friendly and they have a minimart right at the lobby. As the place is located along slightly barren roads, food delivery can be ordered through Go-Food (Gojek's food delivery). For future guests, do note that the place is listed as Dikas's Homestay on Google Maps.

Spacious, comfortable and close to ferry”
Comfortable room with good AC. Not a lively place and on a long empty road, but the mini mart downstairs is great and food is only a 5min or 4k ride away. Same for the ferry. Cute pregnant cat! Cons: some ants. Pro: without asking a FREE pickup was ready at the train station. There was no contact before, so no idea how they even knew when I was arriving and from where! Magic. Tip: The pickup guy doesn't work for the hotel, but just helps out. Note that he did this for free, yet first claimed to ask 20k. Don't fall for it and keep asking the price: he'll finally admit that it's indeed for free (or covered by the hotel). Tip 2: Place is called Dikas's Homestay on all maps!

Good budget hotel”
A good 5 hours rest in between trip from Denpasar to Surabaya. Staff is very helpfull. Nothing to complain about the cleanliness and amenities for that budget. Location on GPS is need to update as the point and exact location about 200m away.

Handy for the train station”
This simple place is located just behind Banyuwangi Baru Station (though one needs to walk 15 minutes around the station to access it). It uses the RedDoorz logo but is marked at Dillaps Guesthouse. The bedroom is pretty tidy, but overall the place is scruffy, with a very basic bathroom (no sink, squat toilet), a grubby balcony, and an ant-filled communal tea and coffee area. There was a drinking water fountain, free bottled water and comfortable soft beds, and the owner (who we only saw in the evening of check in) was charming and delightful. Good for a stopover before or after a long train journey.

Good Transit hotel in Banyuwangi”
Not far (taxi 25K Rp) from Banyuwangi New train station. Pls check the location of your hotel in Banyuwangi (near to Ferry terminal) if you are going to Denpasar. Down to earth budget hotel. Getting a Grab from hotel to Ferry Jetty to Denpasar is challenging. Local assistance by bikes to Ferry terminal. Waited near a ATM kiosk for the bus. Eventually we pay 100K Rp per pax for a jeep ride (5 person incld driver) to Denpasar bus stop. Long journey (abt 6 long hrs). The runners made the arrangements. Around the train station are NO ZONE areas for Grab. .

It's actually not that near Banyuwangi station and the bathroom is not good compared to similarly priced hotels in the nearby area. Saucepan and a bucket of water for the toilet and cold shower. Not ideal but adequate if you're in a pinch. The staff were really nice though and there is free tea and coffee in the public area.

So filthy, the toilet was not well cleaned, clogged drainage. The worst part, when we booked, we thought that our names where there and had settled in but in the middle of the night they woke us up to tell us that our names were not in the guest list. We were evicted in our rooms and left to look for another hotel to stay.

UNE ARNAQUA !!!!!!!! A EVITER MEME A CE PRIX LA !!!”
On avait réservé cet hôtel à 700 mètres de la gare A VOL D OISEAU !!! et le problème c'est qu'on ne vol pas et du coup … ben c'est 3 Km qu'il faut se taper pour rejoindre l'hôtel. On voyage en Asie depuis de longs mois et c'est la première fois qu'on a exigé de nous changer les draps tellement ils étaient crades … en fait c'est même la première fois de notre vie !!! Franchement à part une situation d'urgence qui vous ferait dormir dehors, on ne voit pas d'autre raison de venir ici !!
