Traveling to Philippines? Find Albay Province hotels

Spent our Christmas holidays in Legazpi, Albay and stayed in Lotus Blu. Frontdesk graciously allowed us to make an early check-in (which is fantastic!). Staff is professional and friendly. Our room did not come with the expected Mayon Volcano view, but this was compensated by a grand space, comfortable beds, and topnotch bathroom. Mayon may be seen practically anywhere when you step outside the hotel, so the view wasn't an issue at all. The windows are sound-proof, enabling us to sleep uninterrupted. Excellent value for money! The new SM City Legazpi is also a few steps away, so thats a bonus.

We enjoyed our stay so much at the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They are also knowledgeable about the area so you can just ask them if you need a tour or if you want to go by yourself like we did- to find your way around the small town. The location is a bit unusual though. It's in a residential area although only 5 minutes walk to the main gate. I think it is also where the other good hotel in legaspi is too (don't know if i can mention the name, we saw the hotel's van pass through this hotel). It's only 2 minutes car ride from the airport, you can walk if you want to. Breakfast buffet is regular, oh, but the made-to-order omellete is amazing. Now, i save the best for last: the bed is to die for. It was by far one of the most comfortable bed i have ever slept in (and I have stayed in 5 stars hotels in big cities), and we were only booking the standard room. Who knows the deluxe has better bed. Anyway, maybe that's just my opinion. To sum up though, I totally recommend this hotel for those who need a good night sleep after ATV ride to the lava or other tiring activities around Legazpi.

Twas pretty good! We visited Legazpi City again to attend a wedding and spend some time with my family. We always prefer Ninong's hotel when we go back to the province since it is very accessible and most of the staff already know us.

Upon arrival, we got a welcome drink and a small amulet all decorated with some music and the smile of the reception staff. The staff was very helpful, competent and friendly. We choosed the biggest 1 bedroom premiere apartment. It was a good choice, as this apartment is very big and has a private jacuzzi on the terrace which was perfect due to the bad weather. Yes the Misibis bay hotel is very expensive, but it is the only luxury resort in our wonderful region and it´s not so easy to establish something like this in Albay, also the maintenance costs in our rough conditions are high. So for us it was worth the money and we will come back

we arrived in hotel st. ellis at around 8:30 pm. checking in was easy, it was like they were expecting us to arrive so we felt so welcome by the staff. we paid for extra person php 1k for an extra rollaway bed and buffet breakfast which is very reasonable. the room service staff set up the extra bed straightaway. we were provided with a cable for wired internet in our room. wifi is only available in the hotel lobby. we have a big screen lcd tv in our room so we were able to view and enjoy our photos taken around albay during the day from our camera while resting. the room and toilet is very clean. glad we picked to stay in this hotel. unfortunately we didn't have time to use the amenities and unable to use the free massage offered to us when we arrived but will definitely stay in this hotel again and recommend it to friends and family. we'd give the hotel breakfast buffet 10 stars! it was great and staff service is awesome!

This is probably the best hotel in this area, conveniently located in the middle of everything, i mean everything is literally within walking distance. the staff and housekeeping are just awesome. The resturaunt is good, oh yeah, you are only allowed 2 people to visit the pool their will be a charge for a third guest or more. they have a very nice bar. i saw from the outside looking in. I have stayed here twice already, will stay there again when i return in a few months. i definitely recommend this hotel. i always enjoy my stay there

Still the best hotel in Albay, good location as overlooking to everything especially the beautiful Mayon Volcano. Staff are so accommodating and friendly. Very good to recommend to travelers, tourist and friends. Two thumbs up!

TAPH was the best choice for our stay in Albay. It is just a few blocks away from my family and relatives so no need for transport. The staffs are all pleasant and they were very flexible when i need room transfers. Complimentary breakfasts are good.

Location is the hotel's premiere advantage.. You can easily access public transportation at it's doorsteps. It's near the airport as well as the city's primary tourist attraction in Cagsawa and the Lignon Hill. It just feel odd when you have to cross the road every now and then to get to the hotels restaurant and reception area. A hassle when it rains like when we stayed there so we got wet when we went to have breakfast.. But the food in their restaurant is nice. My sister and I loved their "Shrimp Bicolandia". The family room is really big and spacious. But their windows' lock are not functioning. But not much of a worry It has grills anyway and high walls. And a 24 hour security at their gates. Just be mindful not to put your cellphone while charging near the window. Aircon is fine. Just be noted.. Wifi in our room (room 27) not functioning. Hope they can fix this. Shower took 10mins to heat, good thing we asked. The drainage in the shower room took minutes before the water subside. They also provided towels for the whole family. With soap but no toothbrush. Over all we had a good night sleep just enough for us to be energized for the next day's strenous activities we had. I will definitely book there again in our next visit to Legazpi.

The location was really good as in located right in the junction of usual public transportation, you can pick any jeepney here(Malabog to Cagsawa Ruins & Camalig to Sumlang Lake) or any tricycles. The staff was friendly to educate you on how to go some of the hot spot using public transportation. It's very cheap! P8 - P20 only. The opposite had a mall and some locals food vendors too. Sadly I got a toilet with a slow water shower but the bed are good for sleeping. There a 7-11 downstairs and you can have your snacks anytime. During summer, don't book the fan room as it will really get hot quickly even the night. Overall great spot to stay, definitely will choose here again.

I reside in Sydney, Australia and when choosing, via Agoda, the hotel we intend to stay in Legazpi, I chose the Ellis Ecotel not really knowing what to expect. We booked May 15-18 as the days of our stay. Unfortunately, the first two days didn't dwell with us because Albay was still at typhoon Butchoy's "tail". Hence, the first day was a 'wipeout' for us as we were not able to go out. The 2nd day, we were able to sometime after lunch. With Ellis Ecotel located within the Embarcader de Legazpi entertainment enclave, we were able to move around: shop,eat and watch entertainment without getting wet!Our room (#330) was all right and acceptable to tourists (couple) like us. The flat screen tv, telephone, toilet and bath,lights, card operated security door and air-conditioner are all in working order. The one we liked best is the bed: hard and comfy. The room design is distinct from the other hotels we've stayed in the country: the use of mirror seem to enlarge the size even more. But, I like it. The minor complaint, which I have noted in a 'survey form' I left at the front desk: "there appears to have a block in the shower recess such that the water overflows. the other option apart from fixing it is to raise that floor-part that separates the toilet from the bath. Hotel staff: from the frontdesk, room maintenance, security, driver to hotel bell boy -- they were all courteous, respectful and helpful to us.

we arrived at legaspi airport last january 24, 2012 and the staff of the hotel picked up us at the airport.it is only a minute away from the airport and that's one also reason of the best feature of the hotel. nice location even to malls. there are always available transportation wherever you want to go., jeep, taxi, and other means of transportation. the casablanca suites also provide taxi service. our stay in casablanca suites were pleasant and comfortable. i can say one of the best hotel that i have stayed for all my trips.

The hostel may be a little ways off the road, being located in a corner of a subdivision, but transportation to and from the highway is not difficult to get by. The hostel has an amiable, helpful staff, and there's a modest breakfast of bananas and bread every morning, with coffee. It's located in an area that is not too busy but remains to be close to the city center, and the main streets through which the main modes of transportation pass by, making it a great jump-off point to exploring Albay. The rooms are spacious and clean; truly bang for your buck.

The staff (from reception, security guards, concierge/cleaners), I mean everyone we have encountered are extremely friendly, helpful and polite. The room is clean and we really enjoyed our overnight stay. If I'll stay longer in Albay, I'll consider this place as it just in the highway and can easily hail a jeepney either going to Daraga, Albay, Legazpi or even to Cagsawa Ruins & Sumlang Lake. Very accessible.

Our stay is excellent. The area is very clean and well maintained. But what stood out is the quality of customer service they have. The staff knows how to handle customer very well. Definitely, a recommended place to stay while in Albay.

Balay de la Rama is the family home of the De la Rama family & is being run by their son, Jess, who lives on the ground floor. What is impressive about this place is the investment he & his sister put in to renovate their home & make it completely at par with any other company-run hotel in the Albay area. The result is an up-to-date facility with full amenities such as airconditioning, automatic shower heaters & wi-fi in a cozy home atmosphere. Now, what is even more impressive is that they charge only Php1200 (about 30 USD, as of this writing) per night for a double-occupancy room -- a lot less than all the other comparable hotels in the area. You & your companion get all that plus breakfast included! Jess & his staff are friendly, helpful & give you their personal attention which is more than what you're gonna get at chain hotels. My mom & I had a pleasant stay at Balay de la Rama & there's nothing bad I can say about the place. It's most likely the best value for money you're gonna get in all of Albay. I definitely recommend it to other travelers.

The nicest part of this hotel is the lobby. The whole building needs an overhaul. But if you need somewhere cheap to stay in the city if you have an early flight the next morning, this basic hotel provides what you need. The rooms are basic and though clean enough, the décor is old and dated. The staff however were great, from the security guard to the maintenance man. I asked where I should go to get a good view of Mount Mayon and was promptly taken up to the 3rd floor fire exit which did indeed have a great view! I took a short walk around the city, mainly to find somewhere to eat. Legazpi is a typical Filipino city, busy, hot, dusty and run down. I was the only white person I saw and I was noticed by the locals, which was funny and some were very friendly, but I didn’t feel entirely safe walking around after dark and so stayed in the hotel. The hotel offers a free shuttle to the airport which is a few minutes’ drive. Legazpi airport has by far the best location for a runway that I have experienced in my lifetime. It’s almost worth flying to Legazpi just for the view as you fly around Mount Mayon. I was very lucky that the weather was glorious the day I left Legazpi!

On my biannual visits to Bicol my fiancee' and I tried this hotel. I can state unequivocably that when in Bicol I will stay here. The staff from reception to security to housekeeping were all very accommodating , honest and appeared to sincerely try to maximize my hotel experience. Although I had a safe, restful stay with a decent "set menu" breakfast the downsides I guess were really not their fault. When staying in a hotel as a smoker I like to relax in the room with a cigarette. Due to the law in Albay that was not possible but they did make accommodations for me to go to a smoking area. Also as Bicol Region does not appear to be a major tourist destination (yet) the restaurants, clubs, and sightseeing infrastructure is absent. With that in mind why are the prices for lodging, food, and the few available tourist resources so expensive? Well, one of life's many wonders but I digress. When in Bicol I will certainly try to book here again.

The La Piaazza Hotel and Convention Center is located in a quiet area near to Legaspi and tho the Volcano. The staff is friendly, they provided van to and from the airport which was convenient. The room was clean, quiet, and had free wi-fi. The staff cleaned the room daily and were very helpful. The hotel is not far from Albay and Leapazi

With our short stay in the hotel, it gave us the comfort we deserve. The room was so beautiful including the bed and interiors. Staff were also friendly and attentive. They even gave us a free ride to the Tabaco Port. We had a great experience!

Apihap is quiet hotel, it’s far from the city but near airport and other places to visit within albay. Staffs are very accommodating and they exerted an effort just to provide our needs (Thanks to Roosevelt and Jocelyn). We tried their spa, but it’s so so.. they need to improve it. Overall, our stay in Apihap hotel is worth the price. Salamatun, God Bless! :)

a trip that would always leave a mark in my travels...it was my first time in legazpi, albay and i'd say i was kinda' hesitant of pursuing that solo trip but then i did... i booked this legazpi airport hotel becoz for me its location was the nearest to the airport...few steps away from the departure and arrival area...when i first entered the hotel it was peaceful...the staff at reception was accomodating and then i gave her my print out of the agoda booking and that was it..she led me to my room..it was okay..nice actually...and since i was a solo traveller, i kept on asking d staff of the ways on how to reach or to get to the places i wanna go and visit...and the security guard was very helpful in assisting me of my thousands of questions...he even called a tricycle for me..all in all the legazpi airport hotel is an excellent place for transient like me...and one thing i'd really appreciate was their buffet... i come from a family with sisters who cook so well and serve superb foods...and i'd say the buffet in legazpi airport hotel was excellent!!! super yummy foods! and if i'd be asked..would i be coming back to this hotel, given the chance to set foot in legazpi, albay someday...the answer is yesssss! obviously, i fell inlove with albay...and mayon volcano was just mesmerizing!!! :)

I was there in February with 3 other contestants of the Xterra Albay Cross Triathlon. Balai Tinay is excellently located within walking distance to our bike shop & restaurants in the Rizal Street and to the convention center, the Astrodome. The airport is quite near (50 Pp.with a trike) also. The hotel is quite small with only 5 rooms (all w/private bathrooms) to my knowledge. This is a definite plus. Not only have you your privacy, but, if you choose, also easy contact to the other guests. The best is the owner, Joe & his wife. He helped us in every possible way, even serving us a hot breakfast at 5 AM on race day. He was so proud of his 3 1st place winners that we named our group Team Balai Tinay and have vowed to come again next year. By the way, my bed had the best mattress (firm but not rock-hard) of any hotel that I have experienced. The room was small, but the lobby is quite large, meant as a lounging and dining area for the guests, with a communal kitchen at the rear. I would only stay here while in Legaspi. Thanks so much !!!

This hotel is best for travelers who want to get to see the picturesque Mayon without going to those touristy places. But for those who wants to visit the tourist spots this is also a great place to stay since it's location is walking distance to Cagsawa Ruins and also has access to the jeepneys going around the province.

All we were looking for was a place to lay our heads. What we got was a history lesson, the best cuisine in a region known for its' food, an introduction , very warm hospitality, a fantastic view of Mt. Mayon, an introduction to a more scenic route ( with less traffic ) back to Manila. The only reason I took one star away from location was that it's far from the capital. As for facilities, it does not have your usual hotel amenities. But it was more than what we needed and we will definitely be back.

We stayed for 3 nights with my 3 y.o son. The place is perfect for a couple travelling without a kid if you're pretty sensitive with bathroom cleanliness, like me. The place is pretty old but clean not 5 star for cleanliness but is Ok. The picture of the bed is exactly the same as what they have in their property. The staff are friendly and accommodating. They don't charge extra if you ask for hot water, they will attend to your needs instantly and what's nice is that they didn't charge us extra for extending about 4 hours while waiting for departure time going back to Manila unlike other Inn or Hotels. The location is close to everything, there's even restaurant outside the Inn which is pretty popular for their fired chicken. They offer laundry service and breakfast, you just need to inform them. Quiet place. I will still book this place in the future.

Everything about this place is likable, all the details are thought through. I also liked how affordable it is. Pros: Lovely and relaxing place, complete amenities, accommodating staff, offers ATV, drink bar that opens at night, they have a restaurant (limited menu) Cons: A bit far off from the city center and tricycles are limited to go to and from the malls >staff need better coordination (ex. they don't know what time the receptionist will come, or the person in charge of the cleaning was not informed that a room became available so she wasn't able to accommodate other guests) > their booking system also has issues. For walk-in they do the 12 or 24 hour accommodation, while for online booking via 3rd party platforms (ie. Agoda) they only do the standard 2pm-12noon. It's highly likely that 2 bookings will overlap (it happened to us, we got there 2pm, but our room won't be available until 6:30 pm. good thing we were allowed to stay at a different room so we can rest a bit)

It is a provincial hotel, not much to get excited about. Location is good at center of Tabaco, and facilities is not one to look forward to. Breakfast is served rice and hotdog forever everyday. :( Overall, I find it acceptable given it was in province.

The room stood out the most. Maybe possible make the mattress more firm. The water a little bit hotter. Not complaining because I was very satisfied and I will continue to stay there for future staycations in the future when I just want to get away and rest. The eatery and laundry business across the street was perfect. Also a massage place. The hotel is connected to the mall so while eating at Inasal restaurant I was still picking up my room wifi which was awesome and very rare. Staff were very nice and friendly and helpful. Room beautiful. Those couches in the hallway on the second floor should be replaced with probably a nice wood furniture. More for looks. I don't think it's used alot so i wouldn't worry about those nice soft couches. The hotel is very elegant but those couches look old and worn. I'm just nit picking here. Like I said the hotel surpassed expectations.
