This homestay was one of our best experiences while traveling Vietnam. The food was amazing, home cooked, and there was vegetarian choice. They arranged for us a trekking trip and a boat excursion. We shared a bedroom with futon and mosquito nets traditional adorned. One of our best experiences.

Stayed here for 3 days. We decided not to join a tour and do our own thing. The Homestay is very conveniently located to do boat trips on the lake, visit the various caves, day market and waterfall. They hire out scooters for the day, but we walked everywhere. The breakfast was tasty (coffee, egg, pancakes & fruit) , as was the “tapas style” dinners, although not always enough food when more people joined for dinner but the portions stayed the same. Separate bathrooms clean and hot water plenty full, which was much needed as it was freezing when we were there (10C). Staff, although very limited English, very smiley, friendly and accommodating. They also took care of our laundry, arranged bus ticket back to Hanoi and a bottle of complimentary “happy water” on our last night! I would recommend this Homestay to everyone!

Really great place and wonderful family! Beds are comfortable. Most rooms are situated around the common area which is very loud in morning with people coming and going and having breakfast and there is often karaoke at night (at a neighboring homestay). Bring earplugs.They cook meals here everyday. 50K for breakfast and 100K for dinner. There are essentially no other options so be prepared to eat there. The food is wonderful and plentiful. In terms of things to do on a budget, consider Ba Be Lake carefully. Everything requires a guide and is inaccessible without hiring a boat or motorbike. Prices are not bad in absolute terms but for Vietnam prices they are very high. ~800K for a trek and ~200K for short boat rides. More for longer boat rides. Walking along the road is just about the only thing you can do for free from this homestay. The views are amazing but obviously it does get old after a while. Be prepared to spend a little more money here both for food and for activities.

Excellent homestay. Owners don't speak English but we're still lovely and very accommodating and friendly. I took the bus to ba be and the bus driver called the homestay to pick me up from where the bus dropped me off at. Clean homestay, beds with mosquito nets, excellent family dinners on a beautiful communal balcony overlooking the lake. Easy to organise tours and onward transport there. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed our stay at Anh Ngoc guesthouse. The room was very large and had a great view of the lake. There was also a lovely seating area outside overlooking the lake. The room however had not been cleaned when we got there and the was a particularly bad smell in the bathroom. The staff did try and clean the room to remove the smell but it still lingered for the duration of our stay. The food served was nice but basic and a little overpriced for the quality. Overall we found our stay enjoyable.
