Traveling to Indonesia? Find DKI Jakarta hotels

I used to live in Jakarta and so am quite familiar with most of the "international" (meaning Hyatt, Sheraton, Mandarin, Shangrila, etc.; mostly five star) as well as "near international" (meaning Aryaduta, Borobudur, Century Park, etc.) hotels. This hotel is located in Senayan right next to the Jakarta stadium (Gelora Bung Karno), and is well located on the South side of Jakarta. The guests are upscale, mostly Indonesian, although it is a funny mix of sports teams staying there during competitions (hence its full Indonesian name Atlet Century Park Senayan) and people visiting nearby ministries (particularly the ministry of education), plus business people. The rack rates seem high, but they have lower corporate rates and they also discount regularly via services like Agoda, at which point the prices are reasonable. If you are a business person looking for an acceptable but relatively inexpensive hotel, the Century Park is fine, and if you are the kind of business traveller who wants to exercise/run it is probably a good place to go because of the sports complex literally across the street. It has acceptable food in terms of a café, but if you want expensive hotel restaurants and the like you might do better at someplace like the Mandarin or Hyatt. But the most important aspect of any hotel in Jakarta is location because of the traffic, so this hotel is good for meetings from the Central Business District around the Stock Exchange down to South Jakarta. It is also cheap enough for families, if you look for the online discounted room, etc. I will stay there again.

Pullman Jakarta Central Park Hotel is one of the best choice i stayed so far in jakarta. hotel is great, in terms of staffs, rooms, or facilities. i is located just next to a huge shopping mall, making it very convenient for shopping and eating. it is also located just next to the high way, so easy to get around. hotel staffs are friendly and helpful too. the facility is great, very nice pool and fitness center. hotel lobby comes with very interesting art pieces, i guess just like the usual pullman hotel world wide. anyway overall is a great stay! will sure come back again.

This is the first time I visited fairmont jakarta hotel. We celebrated my husband's birthday and Christmas holiday. Everything here was perfect. The fairmont gold team and hotel team were nicely provided their blessings to us. We really enjoyed our staying. Strongly recommended this hotel.

I used to live in Jakarta, and would call the Gran Mahakam a boutique business hotel on the south side of Jakarta. It is close enough to the Central Business District to stay there, but too far really from the Government ministries centered around Monas if you have dealings there. My only criticism of it as business hotel is that, oddly enough, they do not have the standard business channels on cable to watch at 3am (bloomberg, CNBC, or Fox business). But the breakfast is good, as are the facilities, and the staff is attentive. As example, when I left I had already checked out but then on the way to the taxi the minibar checker called in that I had left an adapter and USB cord in the room, which I then recovered. I would no longer have those after exiting most business hotels, so I suggest staying at the GM and watching bloomberg on your internet device of choice. There are also fine south Jakarta b-hotels nearby like the Darmawangsa, but they are 2-3 times as expensive as GM.

With the notable exception of the Grand Hyatt, I have never stayed in a better hotel in Jakarta. My room well was appointed, the bathroom was immense -- I could have comfortably lived in it -- and staff at the hotel were absolutely impeccable; always polite, exceptionally friendly and consistently a pleasure to deal with. The breakfast buffet was also superb -- a huge selection of both Western and Indonesian dishes. I ate waffles, pancakes, fruit and yoghurt every morning and was pretty much full for most of the day. The location isn't really ideal unless you're on business -- it's in the Kuningan area with some of the other larger hotels. I needed to be over on Jalan Thamrin and though this is close in terms of kilometres, it takes an hour or more to get there in the traffic. That said, most business travellers would probably prefer to be in Kuningan anyway, and I can't imagine why anyone else would visit Jakarta unless they had to for work! Internet was paid for, but reasonably priced at hours. That's less than half of most other Jakarta hotels. The business centre can help arrange domestic flights and there's a Bank Mandiri next door with international ATMs. My only gripe is that there wasn't a hairdryer in the bathroom. Other than that, I really can't fault this hotel and I said as much in the comment card that was left in the room. Two days later, the manager e-mailed me personally to thank me for my comments. I really enjoyed staying here and truly think it's the best hotel in Jakarta at a reasonable price -- I look forward to going back and would recommend the Park Lane to anyone.

It's better than i've expected before come to Jakarta almost everything. Location is great .. easy access to almost everything you need in like local and international restaurants, convenience store, sightseeing place, public transportation, shopping mall, etc. Hotel designed is just unique and outstanding .,, you feel like you're staying in gallery (that's i really love it). Staffs are friendly and willing to help you anything you want. Breakfast is awesome ., perfect choices for both local and international also in good quality and very very very delicious!! Wifi is quite fast! Room is basic standard with difference designed in every room, comfy bed and pillow, there has a iPod dock in your room also ,, so surprise! Various television channels both of locals and international. Overall of my stayed were very happy and impress,, i will recommend to my companies who come to Jakarta .,, or maybe me! if i have a chance to come back to Jakarta again :)

Harris Vertu hotel is something that outshines all the other hotels in the area. Located in Central Jakarta this hotel makes it easy to get to national landmarks like the Monas, Nayional Musuem and gallery and the Central Park area. Me and my partner arrived late to check out after so km e difficulties at the airport and Harris Hotel booked out the last standard room already and gave us a free upgrade without any issues at all. We collapsed as soon as we got to the room and the bed is incredibly comfortable and inviting. The room although small in size felt really big in actually because our room was situated in the corner of the hotel where we had two big windows to look out too thr city every morning and evening. We Not make much of the pool and other facilities such as pool and the spa was booked the last day we tried to use it. We went out during our 4 night stay so it was Not a big deal. I do have some smalls cons to point out. Bathroom: Sliding doorway and mirror is one and is behind the sink which Made it difficult to See full body in mirror. Dine in room service: of the few times we Did order room serverice they only got it half right. I think this is a miscommunication issue because we had to repeat our order several time. I think some of the staff have limited English capabilities. Also there are no vegetarian options on their menu you have to call to order/amend the menu which was frustrating at times because of miscommunication. Location: although it is close to many national landmarks it is not that close to many restaurants. Pros: Dine in Service: they were still open to accommodate to my vegetarian needs. Location: Close to grand indonesia mall and landmarks. I would glady stay at Harris Vertu again if I am in Jakarta and recommend others to do so.

My family and I went there for holiday and this was our first time going to Indonesia and we were indeed very impressed with the excellent services that they had given us. They greeted us with all smiles whenever we walked past them and never failed to keep that same smile no matter how late we returned back. We also enjoyed the brakfast at the hotel which was a newly opened restaurant, there were many different varieties to choose from. Our check in and check out was smooth with no problems and was very fast. We were very happy and contented staying there and we would be happy to visit Jakarta again. Everyone was very friendly and nice to us although we could not speak much malay and they were speaking in alot of English for us to understand. And the mall that is linked to the shopping mall is very easy for us to shop and have our lunch or dinner. We could go down anytime even in an emergency. We love Jakarta and would recommend and i have already recommended some of my friends to go to there and also to stay there.

before we booked this place, we checked ourself in to a different hotel in the centre of jakarta - the amaris - and had a universally awful experience. it was so bad, we checked in and out on the same day. so, when we booked here for just under a week at the last minute, we weren't expecting a lot - we just wanted somewhere better to stay. and as it happens - we could not have enjoyed this stay more - it was pretty much perfect for us. everything from the large safe for laptops, ensuite bathroom and ample kitchen to the individual outside washing machine and drying area, suited us down to the ground. staff were friendly, the apartment itself was amazing, at it gave us some pretty incredible views while we were there. we will definitely be coming back here when we visit jakarta in the future.

Harris Hotel is one of the best hotels I have stay in Jakarta and this is my third time staying in Harris Hotel. They are equip with cheerful, vibrant and friendly staffs and they never fail to cheer me up or brighten up my day with their never ending smile and greetings. The room is big, clean, vibrant and strong air conditioning. The hotel has a well-equip and clean gym room and I enjoy working out there. The hotel is also linked to one of the largest shopping mall in Jakarta where I can find a wide variety of food and endless shopping. I do enjoy my stay with Harris Hotel and I strongly recommend this hotel to people travelling to Jakarta, with regardless it is for business or leisure.

Before I booked the room, there's a lil confusion about the pricing. at night I checked and when i want to book at the following morning, the price sudden rise for twice from original. But I email the hotel an later the price changed back. I stayed in 2 bedroom Premiere and like it! The room is spacious, they hv 2 bathroom and well-equipped kitchen. We had a comfortable sitting area and dining area. And the room also has a beautiful Jakarta's skyscraper view. The location also good, in the main road of the center of Jakarta. by walking distance, you can find yourself a McD, nice coffee shop, more food options and the 24-hours DimSum.Inc and LuckyCat Cafe. Transportation option also very nice, there's a TransJakarta bus station within 5 min-walk. Easily located for conventional and online taxi. And even there's a direct airport bus from Epicentrum mall, within 15 min-walk from the hotel. For me, this is one of the best option if you want to have an apartment-facility-hotel in Jakarta.

Being in Jakarta traffic was a stressful experience, and it was a relief to be back in the hotel every time. The staff there are wonderful people. Every single staff there was always full of smiles and made us feel so comfortable throughout our stay. The apartment was spacious and perfect for families. Cleanliness was decent - not 5-star hotel standard but acceptable given the price we paid. Furnishings, fittings, beddings and kitchen utensils were all of 5 star hotel quality. The restaurant served decent and affordable food. Breakfast was included and we had a couple more meals there because it was too much of a hassle to travel out. Besides the bad traffic, roads were not well-constructed. You would have to go a big circle to get back to the hotel. There's a convenience store nearby and some restaurants within walking distance, but I did not dare step out with my children. Facilities were quite basic but still acceptable. The indoor/outdoor playground were very basic and probably can only keep very young children entertained for less than an hour. Pool was just a normal pool but it was great that they had a heated jacuuzi outdoors. There also had a heated jacuuzi, sauna and steambath indoors, which is great for relaxing. The residents lounge was cosy - you could have a good read, watch tv, chat or play pool. The pool table was sadly, not well-maintained. The cue tips were all falling off. Would have been great if they had board games or DVDs available. Security was good, I felt safe staying there. Would definitely be my choice of stay again if i go back to Jakarta.

It was the first time that The Husband and I travelled to Jakarta free and easy, without the help of guides. We were pleasantly surprised to discover the close proximity this hotel is to major shopping belts. To the left would be Thamrin City and to the right would be Grand Indonesia Shopping Town. Upon arrival at the airport, their airport transfer staff was there to bring us to the hotel. Upon registration, we were allowed to check-in immediately, even though it was only 11am and official check-in time wasn't until 2pm. Needless to say, we kept ourselves fully occupied with lots of shopping at the malls within that area. Dining choices were plenty. From Restoran Sederhana across from Thamrin City that sold delicious padang food, to foodcourts in Thamrin City for refresher meals in between shopping. Dinner would be a more relaxed affair over at Grand Indonesia Shopping Town. Again, spoilt for choice because they had more than 4 floors of food outlets accumulatively. From high end restaurants to foodcourts to suit your budget. Each time we returned to the hotel, we were greeted by warm smiles. On our last day, our scheduled pickup to the airport was at 230pm. We check with this staff if this meant we had to check-out at 12pm like with most hotels and leave our bags at the lobby while we spend the time away until 230pm, but they were nice enough to say that the room would be ours until the scheduled pick-up time. So Ascott Jakarta, we will be back. With friends and family in tow :)

7 years ago, we stayed in Sahid prior the renovation. During April visit 2014, we decided to stay at the same hotel just before going back to the State. I booked the room online via Agoda and got a price deal. Check in was a bit slow. The hotel must have a dedicated customer service line for any guest who does have a reservation. We had to wait for at least 20 minutes in front of two different customers that do not have reservations. I was trying to get in to the lane and finally a staff helped out and voila... in less than 5 minutes check in process was done! We got a new renovation room and awesome wide variety breakfast as usuall and as well as friendly staff. Close to some business places as well as shopping area. Some ATMs inside of the hotel and these are a big deal for us. We also hope the hotel will have wifi inside of the room and not an internet dial up since a tablet becomes more popular for travellers than bringing an actual laptop. Last of all, we would like to come back and stay in Sahid Jakarta Hotel. Cheers, Cali's travelers.

I used to live in Jakarta, still pass through several times a year. I have spent time at this hotel over the years, but had not stayed there in circa 5 years. In the interim, they greatly upgraded their sports facilities, so I recommend it to anyone who chooses hotels based upon sports, spa and morning run or swim facilities. Their Achilles heel is a mediocre and expensive breakfast by Jakarta standards, although they have good restaurants in the hotel (I would recommend their Japanese and Italian). So next time, I think I book them for their sports facilities, omit to book the breakfast, and just catch something in a lobby cafe. They are located centrally close to Mona's, so more in the government than business district.

Given the frenetic rhythm of Jakarta, I felt completely comfortable and removed from the city's chaos when I stayed at the Manhattan Hotel for the last couple of nights of my two-month stint in Malang, East Java. The value for the money is exceptional; breakfast buffet is delightful, multi-country, and abundant, and the rooms are very-well appointed with a luxurious, executive feel. Comfortable beds, high ceilings, quiet air conditioning, and gigantic, marble bathrooms. I stayed with my friend Eddie, and he loved how relaxed he felt at Manhattan - just what we both needed. Wi-fi and LAN internet connections are available at a cost in-room (my only gripe), but free wi-fi is available on the lobby and mezzanine levels of the hotel. The infinity pool offers a nice view of the city (considering that Jakarta isn't the prettiest of cities...), and the fitness space is gigantic. All staff are exceptionally helpful. Taxis are the only way to get around due to the highway construction outside of the hotel (no noise), but at USD 2-4 per ride within the city, it's totally doable for poor grad students like me. Mall Ambassador is a harrowing 1/2 km walk away from the hotel, and all the fantastic restaurants, clubs, and high-end hotels of Mega Kuningan 1 km away on the other side of the highway. Kuningan City is the newest and brightest mall next door with a huge Lottemart in the basement - everything you could possibly need. Don't question it - just stay here!

The hotel is a good location, in the heart of Jakarta. Great facilities with Pool, sauna, spa, and fitness center which can make you relax and fresh. When afternoon time comes, I really enjoy afternoon cocktail at Rimba Ayana Jakarta. The room is clean and spacious space, but my room has an old tv. The hotel should change it with flat tv the new one. My bad experience coming from staff. From the first time, I arrive at the front door, no greeting, no smile, until i must wait 15-20 mins for check in, even when i have a breakfast, why there is no smile on your face and greetings? Please smile and your manner also need to improve. Greeting, smile , what ever the person is coming from. Over all, i'm realy enjoyed my staycation at Ayana Mid Plaza Jakarta. And Thank you for your smile and having time to share with humble one Mr. Christian Rene Hochtl, GM of Ayana Mid Plaza Hotel.

Really surprised to read a few reviews about the place - I wasn't expecting much. Breakfast was a good buffet with an in-house mini bakery providing fresh pasteries! Gym was well equipped for a hotel gym, pool was excellent with a jacuuzi and childs pool with a slide aswell!! Room was ever-so-slightly dated but a good standard and fully equipped for us to cook our own meals. Asked for a high floor and got it with a great view of adjacent towers. Taxi's here are so cheap and trustworthy you can use these to get anywhere in city as the streets immeditely outside aren't pedestrian friendly but I believe this is throughout Jakarta.

finally i place in jakarta where i feel like home! the urban style gives me a feeling of belonging and the casual atmosphere allows me to feel like im on holiday. very friendly staff and they all speak english. here, they dont find problems, they find solutions to your requests. this is probably the best value ive had for my my money on my travels, both on business and leisure. the hotel offers all facilities you need, and the best and most unique touch that i have seen, is the shiny new laundry machines (washer/dryer) that are offered free of charge. they even supply detergent! the two draw backs at morrissey is that it gets quite noisy in the mornings due to the many mosques in jakarta and also there is no room service. the restaurant next to the lobby is not owned by the hotel. this restauratn however, offers amazing italian style food and is highly recommended. this is definitely the place to stay! it advertises with only three stars, but this is the first indonesian hotel that i feel deserve one more star than advertised. this should be a four-star hotel. already at my first stay, i knew that this would be my preferred hotel for all stays in jakarta. unfortunately, they have been fully booked on a few occasions. just another sign of the great value and great experience.

I stay in this hotel because I attend exhibition in Jakarta Convention Center. There is an underground tunnel from this hotel to Jakarta Convention Center, which were built during Soeharto era from Non-Block conference, which was attended by some heads of states that time. This hotel is not cheap, but I have to stay here for the convenient sake.

It's right in the center of Jakarta, it's eid time, it's without traffic to go anywhere, so ... Best place to stay as you can easily drive around Jakarta and comeback to stay in the central area. Mall wise, Lotte shopping avenue is next door, with lollipop available for my kids to play ... So yeahh it's a good stay again in Ascott Kuningan

Thank you very much for the Sales Executive who responded swiftly to my complain regarding my room. She moved me to a better room and even gave me desserts and hot lemon-infused water. I really appreciated the gesture :) The hotel internet was fast so I could work comfortably in my room. The in-room dining service is a bit pricy but the food was tasty. The hotel provides a lot of variety of food during breakfast so I did not need to have lunch ;) I'll come back to this hotel again if I need to stay in the East Jakarta area.

I have stayed at the Gunawarman 3 separate times during trips to Jakarta. It’s in a great location near the CBD, shopping and outstanding restaurants. What sets this hotel apart from many is its value for such a highly rated hotel. It’s is very inexpensive versus other 5 star hotels. The Gunawarman is clean and the rooms are outstanding. The beds are some of the most comfortable I’ve stayed in. The service is also very very good. I have only one issue and that is on the weekends, the bar allows smoking and louder music until early in the morning. Depending on your room location you can sometimes here the music. Otherwise I believe it’s one of the best options for hotels in Jakarta

Got the best deal in my 3 night stay. Staff were attentive and accommodating. The room is neat and well designed. I will definitely keep using this hotel whenever km in Jakarta for business. I want to give special mention to Ms. Vanessa Yolastika (operator) for accommodating small but important request. Thank you making my 4 days stay pleasurable.

Dear Sir/Mdm, good day, Every thing was good except for the towels and pillow cases/bedsheets/comforter which smell a little something like they did not bother to use enough detergent to wash it. I asked them to change the sheets/pillow case on the third day of my 4-night stay there but the faint smell of not-properly cleaned bed linen was still there. The towels smell worse despite daily change and one even had obvious rust stains on it. We are talking about hygiene here and things which come into contact with our skin/senses. The room manager should be fired for such tardiness. Other than that, the hotel should also make an effort to clean the windows which are a little stained and prevent us, at times, from enjoying a clear all round view of the quiet and green neighbourhood. By the way, the small un-inviting pool located right next to the open air area of the Cafe is an eyesore. It makes me feel the open air area of the cafe is located in a wet-floored toilet. Get ride of the pool. Use some thinking here, do something else with the swimming pool space. Last but not least, they should attempt to drop the word 'Darmawangsa' as I feel it does not reflect well on the hotel's part by intentionally or unintentionally associating itself with the high end Dharmawangsa Hotel which is located less than 10 minutes' walk away. Also, it can confuse first time guests and taxi drivers who often mistake it for Dharmawangsa Hotel. To the management of The 101 Hotel located at Darmawangsa Square, Jakarta, please give some thoughts to the above points if you are keen to make it a top 4-star hotel in Jakarta. You are just that close to make the hotel stay at the 101 a great experience, don't throw that chance away. NKH 04 Jan 2016

One of the best stay I have had in a long long time. Could very well be the best stay I have had these 2 years. Quite perfect. Great genuinely friendly staff especially Thom and Rina, great rooms with awesome beds, beautifully strong shower pressure, luxurious amenities, well equipped kitchen, huge room size and practically everything else is perfect here (have never said this in a review before). Very very highly recommended service apartment/hotel. Restaurants, Bars, cozy Market Place all just downstairs with 7-11 next door. A definitely value for money and must stay place when in Jakarta. Rate this place a 10!

Fantastic price for such a central location. We arrived and were told all the no smoking rooms were taken so we were being put in a smoking room. When we rejected this, they solved the problem calmly, asked us to wait in the restaurant with a welcome drink for an hour and prepared us a suitable room. We were escorted to the restaurant, where the staff greeted us by name and brought us a drink. The suite was great - fully equipped kitchen, loungs, dining table and chairs, cable TV, large bedroom, en suite, extensive room service menu. Breakfast was buffet style served in the restaurant. A reasonable choice, continuously refilled. The chefs on the egg station (both days - so 4 different men) couldn't cope with the volume of guests and the quality was haphazard (one day poached eggs were over cooked, the next almost raw!). Otherwise decent breakfast with attentive service. All the staff (front desk, door, restaurant, various security members) greeted us with smiles and often by name throughout our visit. We have often stayed in much 'glitzier' hotels in Jakarta, and the service here was just as good. All in all, a good find. We will return next time we have to be in Jakarta.

Memorable stay with somerset, everything you need is just a stone's throw away. It was perfect for me as I'm a frequent visitor to loewy and a big fan of the kuningan area because its so convenient. The staff were very friendly and helpful, my apartment was how it was from the first day to the last even though I was a very messy person. They did a perfect job on house keeping and were very honest people because I left money lying around everywhere in the apartment and not a single cent was missing. (Plus point) The staff would greet me with genuine smiles and that's what makes my day since I'm also working in the service industry. (Plus plus point) Will choose to stay at somerset whenever I need to travel to jakarta because the apartment felt like home which is most important for me. I highly recommend somerset grand citra to my friends whenever they travel to jakarta because it's awesome.
