Long time good reputation hotel in Nakhon Phanom, friendly staff, great view of Maekhong River, very good breakfast and totally value for money.

We loved it! The hotels in Nakhon Phanom vary in their quality, age and so on but this is a small 5 star hotel. The price is very competitive and we got the biggest surprise of our lives when we got to the room and found it was not just a room but a suite. Clean, tidy and modern: bedroom overlooking the Mekong River. We were only there for two nights although we were in the area for four nights. We wished we could have stayed for all four nights here.

The Viewkong was probably a fine hotel 20 plus years ago. Now it ispretty shabby, good for one night if passing through Nakhon Panhom. Room was clean, location is good

The hotel is right opposite the riverside promenade.The area is pretty quiet with around half a dozen restaurants and a few resorts/homestays. We actually enjoyed the quietness and had a couple of nights decent sleep. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the maids welcoming and friendly.Some of the reception staff were a little bit aloof but it wasn't a problem. The hotel gives free bicycle hire which is good.You can cycle along the promenade and parallel road quite comfortably as there is little traffic. You can cycle,also,to the famous temple Wat Phrathat Phanom which is about 1 kilometer away and well worth a visit. The hotels breakfast is buffet style and not bad and you can also get a massage in your room,if you wish. For trips out,both Nakhon Phanom and Mukdahan are about 50 kilometres away in opposite directions,so That Phanom is a good base for a short break. Overall,the That Phanom River View is good value for money and ideal for those wanting to relax and chill out.

I like this hotel. I live in Thailand, and so I sometimes stay there when traveling. The VIP rooms have a computer in the room. The hotel is well-maintained. The breakfast has improved: no eggs, but they do have the rice porridge than Thai people like. They need to do a little painting and straightening, but other than that this hotel is a good choice in Nakhon Phanom. The VIP rooms are good. The others are not recommended. I had a few bug bites once after staying in a standard room, and I demanded a refund. They gave me a discount. The VIP rooms are just fine.

Friendly staff. Nice room for the price. Good restaurant at hotel. Good location. Is typical Nakhon Phanom hotel..... No hot water pot, no in room safe, no microwave in room. Breakfast included; rice porage, toast/jelly, coffee/juice only. Tiny ants, as found in so many hotels in Thailand...I bring my own can of bug spray... And I believe during night, someone backed into our truck bumper causing minor damage (hit and run of course); not much parking.

I had booked this hotel with agoda 5 adauts 2 VIP room + 1 Extrabed. I have a voucher for checkin but the person who stay at the front desk at that time said this voucher is just a booking not paid and extra bed need to be charge more 800 ฿ . Ofcouse I had saved the confirmation email from agoda too, then I had to show her the detail of booking that show everything about type of room and extra bed in plus and all expenses. Anyway she still ask for 100 ฿ for extrabed and said agoda price is too low they didn't get any profit and they have a walkin guest that can pay that cost in no complain??? I don't mind about the price but it's not right. My Booing is correct as Agoda deal. And what the problem???

This is a new, modern hotel right across the street from the Mekong River and an excellent location in Nakhon Phanom. From here there are many restaurants/cafes within walking distance. There is also a coffee shop within the hotel itself. The owner speaks good English and is very nice. Breakfast is included and is a delicious Vietnamese style noodle soup or fried egg with vegetables. There are bicycles available for use, free of charge. Highly recommended!

On highway 212 so easy to find. Adequate off street parking, with polite security guards. No noisy bars nearby. Breakfast was better than most in Nakhon Phanom hotels, and included a good automatic coffee dispenser with expresso, capacino, mocha, etc . Has hotel restaurant too. Quick check-in and check-out. No cash deposit required. They, like most hotels in this area, do not have a hot water pot in the rooms for making your own coffee or instant noodles, so I travel with my own. Nearest 7-Eleven is a couple km up the road toward town. This hotel is definitely a great value.

Nice hotel, with nice staff. Good breakfast included (pre-order day before). Quiet area, short walk to riverfront. Modern styled room. I think will be my preferred hotel when in Nakhon Phanom. Does not have hot water pot in room to make my coffee. Has small refrigerator, but no microwave, and no in room safe, as most in area do not at this price. I must have my out of bed coffee...so I pack my own hot water pot for coffee in Thailand. Room has good secure electronic door lock, with secondary deadbolt lock. Have stayed in 4 hotels in Nakhon Phanom. Pimsiri is only hotel that did not have ants in room.

My most flavor of stay, best breakfast and service staff support. I will stay here once if I have a chance. a little bit come out from main city, so expect to have car or rental vehicle.

The hotel is located downtown within walking distance to the Mekong Riverside. The room is very clean and comfortable. The staff members are excellent and truly helpful. They will arrange all kinds of transportation for you and try their best to answer your needs. Very friendly and full of service mind. Highly recommended!

Pros Value for money, room quite big with all facilities. 7-11 is near by. Hotel is behind PTT gas station. Easy to find. Quiet and new hotel.

This hotel is ideal for one or two nights, small but clean, staff very plesent, alittle bit far from the main town especilly late at night(its a long walk)but great value for the money.

One or two km upriver from Viet Kieu clock, but it's lovely walm along the river. Hotel has bicycle for use. Super clean room, working wifi. Little bit of a view of mountains across the Mekong, but it's not a riverfront hotel. Better experience if you can speak a bit of Thai - same is true everywhere in Nakhon Phanom - which makes NP a nice place to send a few days

This hotel is great. The water was strong and there were space and counters to put things rather than placed them on the ground. The room style is very artistic. I wouldn’t imagined this type of hotel be here in this town. However the location is quite in the little ally so it’s best to have your own transportation to get around. The surrounding area is not really crowded with food and shops so you do need to have transportation. But it was worth the price.

Good location, everything is within walking distance (abt 1 km) or you can rent their bicycle, very cheap. Owners were very kind and friendly. I recommend this place for those who travels to Nakorn Phanom.

The hotel was quite difficult to find as it was hidden away down some very narrow alleyways in a little village outside of Nakhon Phanom. The original rooms we booked were internal facing so had no natural light. We asked to move to a room with a proper window (apparently these are slightly more expensive) but the staff were very accommodating, even though we had already used the shower in the original room, they were happy to move us and let us pay the difference. There was some breakfast provided at the hotel, but the food was not great, and there was no choice offered - we were just given whatever had been prepared that day. Also, although there was a coffee shop on the grounds it was never open. This was a bit inconvenient given the hotel was so remote and there were no other places to get food or drink within walking distance. We visited the spa during our stay and had an excellent aromatherapy massage and facial, which was very reasonably priced. The hotel was worth the visit for the use of the spa, but if not for this I would probably not return.

Everything in That Phanom easily accessible from this hotel 5 mins to town centre stayed here a couple of times now and never any complaints. Good quality value for money hotel

This is an ok place to stay. A little far from the CBD and the bus station. I stayed two nights that I booked. The third night I stayed at the Windsor Hotel which was old but well located in the CBD.

The rooms are big and very clean, the bed is comfortable, aircon, fridge, lounge in room. Thai style wet bathroom. The photos displayed on the site are totally misleading of the exterior area. There is no "lobby" or outdoor eating sitting area, this is someone's home and you check in through the door. Everything outside is run down or broken, including the sign, the riverside sitting area in photos is really old and dilapidated. The Riverview room windows open onto the car parking area and everyone can see in, you cannot have curtains open to see view, without people seeing into room. Not good value for money a lot better places to stay for same money or cheaper.

Had one night here whilst cycling. Comfortable beds and excellent water pressure and temperature, Food fine and filling.

quiet, relaxing location with excellent service and great view of mekong. resort is managed by a caring couple who are caring people. they do provide local tours and shuttle to the nakhon phanom airport. meals can be had onsite, cooked to order, and there is no need to eat elsewhere. breakfast means lots of onsite grown bananas and papayas with fried rice, eggs, ... the usual continental fair. other meals are thai food, isan style.

Stay one night here for my visit to the famous Wat Phrathat Phanom here in town. Only 2 mins walk from the hotel to the wat. Sweet and seasoned ladies run this hotel. I am not so sure if they speak English, but they are very helpful and sweet in general. The minivan to Mukdahan and Nakhon Phanom stops pass the main road in front of the hotel, hence it's easy to get to both of the places, just hop on!

Situated 15/20 minute walk south of the main town of Nakhon Phanom the River View Hotel sits right on the banks of the mighty Mekong River giving the opportunity for peaceful walks along the bankside. It's a big hotel - far bigger than you would think is required for what is not a mainstream tourist location. However, it also serves a purpose as a regional conference centre, so is used to hosting large numbers of guests at a time. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, though the decor is a little 'tired' looking in places. The food is a combination of Thai and Vietnamese cuisine, representing the close links this area has with Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh lived just outside the city for several years - his former house now a museum). Driving in the countryside around Nakhon Phanom is a rare pleasure - roads are quiet and what traffic there is isn't fast or dangerous. However, if you hire a car make sure you are covered by insurance or you could end up being liable for everything (for instance, in the unlikely event the car gets stolen - you may end up being charged for it).

the nj hotel is right on the highway--not that it's a particularly busy road. it's a few minutes walk to the temple and to the actual town of that phanom, but if you don't mind that then it's a perfectly fine place to stay. nj is close, however, to the area's park and to the lao market (monday and thursday). it's more of a motel than hotel (open 24 hours a day), but it's clean and quiet. the owner speaks some english, but if you have any outrageous requests you might have some trouble communicating. the rest of the staff doesn't speak english, though the owner is perfectly happy to help. if you're looking for somewhere inexpensive but still pleasant, this is a good place.

I think this hotel is very nice, and clean. Also internet is working very nice there, high speed connection. Stuff is friendly and willing to help for guests. If you ever travel to Nakhon Phanom, I recommend to stay in this hotel. Kind Regards

Very good service and a good walk (about 1.0 km) from the downtown congestion. One block from the Mekong River but your balcony will afford you views of the Laos mountains. There is a walkway along the river that takes you downtown that has some great views of the Laos mountains and some fishermen. There is an immigration office here for Visa extensions. The hotel is a block from the hospital. There are several restaurants within a block.
