Traveling to Philippines? Find Northern Leyte Province hotels

We always stay in this hotel when traveling to Leyte. In fact, we often push our schedule one way or the other to do so. It's a smaller hotel so only has a few dozen rooms. Also, it only has one elevator. Hasn't been a problem yet but could be in the future. Lobby is also small. It's a very nice hotel with great staff and one of the better restaurants in Tacloban but it's still not a 4-star. We stay in 4-star hotels all around the world; XYZ is a nice 3-star. Excellent value.

Excellent value for money, considering the hotels standards in the Philippines provinces. Staff spoke decent English and were very polite & attentive. Hotel room was large clean, large flat screen TV with cable channels, aircon in good order bathroom spacious. Area was calm. All of what is expected from a business traveler was there, which is rather unusual in the Philippines small province towns. I wish more hotels were to follow this example.

Pros - the best location, accessible to all transportation vehicles, room is really clean and smells so nice, the bed was so comfortable I literally slept like a baby, there's a big tv with up to date channels, there's a mini fridge, towels and bath essentials are available, not the conventional type of hotel but I would choose to stay here over a 5-star hotel. Place is super quiet, there's a living room outside and table as well so you don't bring the food inside, which is really good so that your bedroom doesn't stink. And kudos to the staff. Only one con- they didn't have a cafe inside but I was told they're already planning to add one which is great! I'll definitely stay here again the next time I visit Tacloban. It's well worth the price I paid. 😁😁

The Ironwood Hotel in Tacloban City, Leyte Philippines is hands down the front runner in lodging choices in Tacloban City. My wife and I have been to the Ironwood on two different occasions and our expectations and results were top-notch. I highly recommend this hotel to any traveler to the Tacloban Area. The hotel is very easy to locate, and has an associated restaurant with very palatable choices for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. A Very friendly place to visit.

We usually go to Tacloban quite frequently and are always looking for a nice but reasonably priced hotel as most in Tacloban are in our opinion overpriced for the Philippines. We did a walk in to this hotel and the front desk staff stated that they only had a 3,000 Peso room available. Well that is $60 US and WAY TOO MUCH for a hotel here so we went online using the Agoda app and low and behold there were PLENTY rooms available for over HALF the price so we reserved online and when we showed the front desk staff they said "oh they just became available" LOL. Anyway the room was nice and clean and they give you a free drink and breakfast is included. Also they have a VERY nice coffee and wine lounge called Skye on the 5th floor that we like going to. Close to downtown and easily accessible to major businesses and shopping.

If you are looking for the best location in the heart of Tacloban City. Look no further Asia Stars Hotel is at the very center of it . Its just a step away. Hotel Staff are very accommodating, friendly and professional. Very clean and Wi-Fi ready 24/7. Free breakfast and now they have shuttle services to the airport to the hotel or vice versa though there are some minor set backs that needs improvement like the hot and cold faucet it needs repair and upgrades.TV reception is quite blurry But nevertheless. Quality for your money and a meaningful, comfy stay. Asia Stars Hotel is a value for your money .

Overall it’s a nice place to stay at. There are however some things that could be improved. Food is not available after 11pm which is very unusual these days for any hotel. Although the food is quite nice, there are limited choices depending on what time you get hungry, Overall the room we had was quite nice except that the mattress was fairly uncomfortable. These were all minor things but if rectified, this hotel woul easily be 4 to 5 stars.

Convenient location as it is accessible to public transportation, about 15 mins by car from the airport. Helpful staff. Rooms are really basic- only towels, soap, tissue paper are provided. No refrigerator, electric kettle, shampoo. Strong water pressure, hot shower available, clean swimming pool. No wifi in rooms, no mobile network signal in some rooms. Rooms need to be updated, maintained and cleaned properly, some lightbulbs in the room need to be replaced. Good buffet breakfast for its price but non-Filipino guests may find it lacking in variety. No credit card payment facility. Would stay here again if on a tight budget and if I would just need a place for sleeping after tours of Tacloban and other areas in Leyte

Superb stay here yet again. All the staff are superb. Terrific Swimming Pool newly referred and crystal clear. Good breakfasts and the restaurant serves excellent food for small money with a view of the Ocean and mountains to die for!!! I have stayed at 5 other good Hotels in Tacloban over the years, and this is the best by far!!!I love it here and will stay for over a week.

I did not expect much. This hotel looks like it's seen better days. It is in fact old and shabby around the edges. However, my room was clean, everything worked, and had a fantastic view of the sea. Room service was quick and courteous. Also, can't beat paying PHP 145 (around $3) for a plate of pasta good for two. It wasn't the best tasting pasta I've had, but it hit the spot after long travel. Highly recommended!

Agora booking indicated free breakfast but none when we arrived. Staff said it did not show on their system there was breakfast included. Staff very nice though.

We’ve enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Great service, staffs are very good, professional & friendly . I would love to stay with this hotel when we come back to Philippines.

First off let me say that I have been here in the Philippines for 6 months and have stayed in MANY hotels and Bamboo Gardens is the best one BY FAR!! Tucked away outside the city but close to the HUGE Robinson Mall. We had an excellent time and the staff of Jonna and Rocky were VERY accommodating. The room felt like home and it was nice with a sitting area inside and out, BIG shower with HOT water, COMFORTABLE BED, and VERY CLEAN!! They even serviced out the hotel SUV for us to go to La Villa Fransisco and the MacArthur Memorial Landing Park! We even met the owner and we truly felt like family! WE WILL BE GOING BACK IF NOTHING BUT TO STAY HERE AND ENJOY THEIR HOSPITALITY!

Issues I had were the noise from the Pig Farm directly behind the hote and the lazy guard outside the front. Walls are thin. TV and conversations can be heard all night. Pig noise started 6AM along with noise from the kitchen chopping and banging on the counters. We departed 9AM and guard was so freaking lazy to help us get a trike or even help with the luggage. Could have at least helped with something. Just sat there smiling at my lady. Perverts are everywhere. Staff and Restaurant were Excellent. Easy to work with and accommodating. If you want sleep, get a room far from the elevator and dont expect the guard to do anything.

Pros - good location for golf at Leyte golf & CC and early ferry next morning. Staff friendly and efficient with help on transport to golf course and information on ferry to Cebu ticket and departue. Cons - my room on 5th floor no elevator. TV only received one local channel, other channels snowy an sound distorted. Electronic key not working, after several trips up and down 5 floors staff gave me manual key. No outside window. Aircon very high on the wall, need to stand on bed to adjust. Overall hotel accommodation okay for me but I would not take my family here.

Location was excellent-- 8- to 10-minute walk to a mall (alternative is a pedicab). The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The rooms were spacious and had a sink and table. They offered good and reasonably-priced breakfast which they delivered to your room. The compound was secure and relatively quiet at night.

As the title states, this Hotel is definitely in a pristine and tranquil setting. We will definitely go back for another relaxing get-away.

For the location it was an enjoyable stay. Staff was fantastic. No WiFi and cell phone reception was very poor. Televisions about the size of a computer monitor. Channel selections not geared for foreign guests. Overall though, I would gladly stay again.

It's very cheap and for the price it's good but don't expect much there was no hot water wifi was slow in room But I think it's only advertised as available in the lobby so I can't complain, for one night I would stay Again as it's so cheap

We stayed here for a week and enjoyed our stay. The view of the golf course was nice and it was very quiet and peaceful. Room service was good but the menu was limited. If you stay, bring cash since they do not accept credit cards. This would be the only downside of this place.

This is just a basic hotel, there are no bells and whistles, only the bare necessities, a bed or 2 depending on your room, our room had a small refrigerator, and a Samsung digital TV. The bathroom is so small it's almost non-existent. The rooms don't have baths and the shower isn't even a real shower per-say, it's merely an electric shower head installed in the bathroom. Having said all this, the staff is very friendly and accommodating, and they have a snack bar at the front desk with everything from sweets, to crisps, sodas and beers. I usually grab a big bottle of Red Horse, and I'm sorted. :-) They also have a very small swimming pool, and they serve breakfast as well. The location is not bad as it is located just walking distance from Gaisano Riverside, sari sari stores and eateries. As I stated before, the hotel itself is just basic, but the prices are very cheap and if you're on a tight budget, it's the way to go! Me and my wife will stay again.

Fair Breakfast.6/10 Fair Staff but limited knowledge about Leyte Tourism information. 4/10 Customer Service was Fair 6/10 Location and Accessibility 8/10 with good access to Van Terminals and other public transport. You can take a Public Jeep going to Airport for a Fare of 13 pesos only. PUBLIC MARKET IS JUST A WALKING DISTANCE WHERE YOU CAN BUY FRUITS AND OTHER PASALUBONGS PRIOR TO YOUR DEPARTURE. OVERALL 6.5/ 10 FOR ME.

I extended my stay. In the city I only saw another small "hotel" and a normla hotel. But I was quite satisfied with GV Hotel, because you only need a bed to sleep during the night. The bed was not very soft but ok. The pillows were fine. For my extended stay I didn't have to change the room. If you would go there by car they have about 3 places in front of the hotel, but maximum 1 car always stood there. Very safe place!

We always stay here when in Tacloban City, mostly due to the central location and good service we have received. Management is very professional and will arrange reliable airport transportation (the main reason we're here) for a very reasonable price. Rooms and furnishings are not new, but are clean and comfortable. Bathrooms are fine. Not much more to say. Have not been there since the typhoon.

Please email directly to inquire** If you are looking to get away from it all- this is your paradise! I can't wait to go back! Rooms were big, lovely and just what I was looking for. It is an adventure to get here- but worth every moment! I took the boat from Cebu to Ormoc, then the local (green) bus [note only twice daily, once early morning and once early afternoon, so earlier ferry is needed!] up to Caluibian (last stop, can be 2-4 hours depending on conditions). There are no taxis that will take you that far away, and the roads are too difficult to drive a rental car. Once in Caluibian, show the address to one of the motorbike guys and he'll take you there (about 20 minutes ride, plan luggage accordingly). Upon arrival, the staff (Lola and her granddaughters) were amazingly lovely. They helped me to organize a day long boat trip to nearby islands where we saw beaches and waterfalls, helped me get food (there is no town or shop nearby) and did everything they could to help me enjoy my stay. They spoke enough English to communicate what was needed and I was happy that I got to know them! Please note: if you have specific dietary restrictions or need lots of snacks, do buy these in town before coming out. It can be difficult to get back into town on short notice! Some small items like bottled water, local beer and small snacks are available from the canteen on site.

Besides Citi Hotel being a great value and comfortable room, I found the best entertainment in Southern Leyte at a restaurant in Hilongos called Villa La Cocina. They have live music on Friday and Saturday nights that will blow you away. Citi Hotel and Villa La Cocina made my trip a totally unexpected pleasure

It's not cheap in price but the hotel is really great. Staff helped us evertime we needed. Next door to a Mall with the best restaurants The area is good and near the airport but not in the city centre. Booking by Agoda is cheaper than booking directly

Now I stayed in the big room with private bathroom. The sleeping room is very clean. Enough place to put all my staff in the wardrobe. The conditions of the bathroom are quite old, but compared to other places in the Philippines that's ok. Of course still no western or malaysian standart of a bathroom. The weather was very bad at that time, but the friendly women there were very kind and also helped me to get into the city when I was not able to get a tricycle or bus during strong rain. Thank you very much for your kindness and help! Thank you for preparing me the breakfast. Definitifly the best possibility for overnight in Baybay City, even it is about 5min driving time outside of the center.

Verranda Residence is one of the best hotels in Tacloban city, The staff which is managed by Camille is very professional and attend to all your needs, if you want to stay away from the main city hussle and bussle and the noise Verranda Residence is the place to stay I would highly recommend this hotel and I look forward to staying there again at the end of april. Management and staff are hard working to please and it really is a pleasure to stay in this hotel. To Camille, staff and manager thank you. Regards Always and I will see you again soon. Steven
