My wife and I originally booked 5 days here and ended up staying for nearly two weeks. A lot of travelers come through here just for a day or two as part of a tour group and miss out on the incredible, relaxing area that is Chiang Rai. Even though we only booked a basic room the staff upgraded us to an incredible cabin on a small pond, and were incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The swimming pool is amazing. Definitely helpful to rent a motorbike or car as this hotel is a bit far from the city center. I would give six stars if I could, thanks Phowadol!

General impressions: This resort is set apart from the main street and overlooks the Kok River. For our trip in February, the resort was very quiet, with only a couple dozen other guests from what we could gather. Public Areas: The lobby is spacious and comfortable. A welcome drink is offered during check-in. The main pool area is scenic and well designed, though the pool water was a bit too cold for our tastes. Only one elevator is available for each wing of the hotel, though given the low number of guests, this was not an issue. Rooms: Rooms were quite spacious with a comfortable Thai-style couch by the window. The rooms actually look nicer in person than they did in photos. Bathrooms were also quite clean and all plumbing worked well. WiFi is free and rather fast. Power outlets are plentiful. Food: Breakfast is rather good, even if the buffet is a bit small. Fresh eggs are cooked to order perfectly. Room service is also available and the pricing is very reasonable given that this is a resort set apart from the main roads. The food, particularly the curries, was delicious. Services: The hotel offers a van service to the Night Bazaar upon demand. The fee is 100 baht each way per room. (The return trip can be made via other means, though taxis are not plentiful in Chiang Rai.) A pleasant surprise was the free airport shuttle, also available upon demand. I recommend checking with the hotel first to ensure availability, even though this didn't seem necessary when we used the service.

Rim Kok is a large hotel. The service is very good. Staff willing to help beaming guests as well. In terms of decoration is applied in Lanna style bedrooms provide a smooth clean every cent in its entirety. Overall, the stay is considered the most cost-effective price. If you do not want to eat dinner in the city suggest that The hotel restaurant is attached along the Mae Kok c than the beautiful Watch the evening the atmosphere along the river Really happy. Breakfast is diverse. Delicious delicious Cons - None.

This hotel is truly excellent value for money. The Hotel appears rather new, very clean, large rooms, modern appliances, large bed, modern and clean bathrooms. The only "negative" would be the absence of English TV Channels. This could be a negative for Western families with young children. There is only Thai programs available in the rooms. Cable TV is only available in the main lobby. Breakfast is sufficient - although all the poached eggs were half cooked. This is quite standard in most 3 star hotels in the region. It would be nice to have a balance between well done and half-cooked eggs to cater to all. The staff are extremely courteous and very welcoming - a very nice change compared to my experiences in other Hotels in the country. I would definitely stay there again during my next trip to Chiang Rai. It is also quite well located although having your own transportation is definitely a bonus. There is a Lotus Express (small supermarket) and 7-11 walking distance from the Hotel in case of emergency supplies. The taxi fare from the airport was THB150 in a Metered taxi (However - this was a flat rate agreed upon with the driver. he did not turn on the meter!)

The room is spacious, clean, and tidy. Locates next to the small river (Kok river) makes our breakfast much nicer. The breakfast was sufficient. The staffs are really helpful and friendly. There is also wifi and computer to use.

Best hotel in Changrai. Room decoration was cute, there is parking space for a car and moterbike. Bathtub is in outside and chill, however, after 12hrs, there was no hot water... but its fine. Breakfast on the bed was amazing. we didnt know breakfast was included... When we go back Changrai, absolutely coming back!!

Very clean, nice family run hotel. I would give it 5 stars in terms of cleanliness. Owner is very friendly. You need a car yget around although the location is quite convenient. Breakfast is simple coffee/tea and bread.

Stayed for 2 nights. Booked for Standard Room but was upgraded to Deluxe Double Room at no cost by the owner. The owner is very friendly and helpful with a personal touch. The staff is hospitable and sincere. Room size is very large and the bed was comfortable. Everyday cleaning. Location wise, can see the hotel from the roadside because the hotel has big signboard. Quiet area and village surrounding. You need to be aware to the small junction and signboard when you coming down from the bridge. The junction is just right after the bridge on the left (this is the nearest junction to the hotel entrance). Don’t worry if you miss this junction because there is other junction to the hotel and is a little bit far. Dislike – the shower. The water is slow and it takes longer time to bath. Suggestion for improvement - should change the shower head and increase the pressure of the shower.

The small hotel (only 4 rooms). Good location, it's close to Kok river. The room is quite big.

We were impressed with the resort and pool - we definitely weren't expecting what we got because we paid such a low price. This place is very good value for money!! The staff were very friendly and helpful too. However, there are some things you need to know, especially for families with young children. The pool, although very clean, has no cover so hats and sunscreen are a must. There is also no barrier separating the deep pool from the children's pool, so you need to be watching your children AT ALL TIMES! It is very easy for them to be walking along in the children's pool and all of a sudden step onto ground that is too deep for them to stand. I highly recommend the hotel put a barrier there before something happens. Luck Swan is also a few kms out of town which is great for those who have a car or tour guides picking them up, but not for those who want to be able to walk to the night market. The only other thing is that it seems to be a popular place for meetings and large tours, which meant that for both nights during our stay there were tour groups from other asian countries that arrived late at night and were yelling near our door (past 10pm). This, of course, is not the hotel's fault. But just something to be aware of. It can happen at any place. If this becomes a problem it would be good for the hotel to put up signs asking guests to be mindful of others. For those with a low budget who want a clean, professional hotel with a swimming pool, and have your own transport to the places you need to go in Chiang Rai, Luck Swan is a great choice.

we had a great stay at Nana Doo homestay. Moo sand Neng were kind and thoughtful hosts. they have us information about the city, helped book tours and motor scooters for the day. They also gave us rides into town (since you are out of the city center) when they were headed in. It was a good mix of quiet, comfortable, and relaxing around the pool and easy to get into to town. would definitely stay again.

The only good with this place is the neighbouring restaurant. Chivit Tamma da Coffee House. Wonderful food and drinks!! But a warning, nothing is cheap there...

New hotel. Over the bridge from old Chiangrai nearer to the airport. Excellent location in a suburb out of main centre. Third floor room with views from front door and out ranchslider in the other direction. Absolutely stunning.

Great, clean hotel with friendly staff. WiFi great bit just a little bit far away from main walking street and markets and tricky to get a taxi. Otherwards recommended!

Very rustic, but it was all we needed and perfect for a night in Chiang Rai. Would definitely recommend for budget travellers. It's a great deal!

We are a couple with a young baby and we stayed about 4 nights at the Goldmine. It was a little tricky to find (but a call to the resort fixed that and we were rescued in person by the owner!). We loved our stay were made to feel part of the family and for sure would return. The owner is also an excellent chef and is happy to adapt his food to your taste. The Thai breakfast is legendary! Location is quite and would be good for hikers, cyclists etc Note: There was some construction going on (Dec 12) but this did not really impact our stay. A massive THANKS to all at the Goldmine for a wonderful stay!

We had very pleasant stay. The hotel is very clean and new and all things were working. They are quite generous about their breakfast. One area to be cautious about is the slippery bathroom floors which is due most likely to the type of tiles used. All said it is a good hotel at a fair price, better that I had anticipated. What we saw in the picture was what we got.....Very satisfied.

This hotel is located in a good location - attached to the Mae Kok road and 1 minute to the main road. Easy to drive to other place in Chiang Rai i.e. Chiang Rai city, Doi Mae Salong, Doi Tung or Mae Sai Room is a bit small and tidy with double bed. Not much space to move around. However, the cleanliness is quite good. Hotel staff not much helpful when I asked for local restaurant for dinner

River Rai only has 5 rooms, all facing the river. Not all of staff speak English well, but they go out of the way to satisfy your needs. One of them even took her motorbike, drove to the local market, and bought something we were searching for! The owner Greg, a Singaporean, greeted us with a tour of the property. You can tell he is very proud of it, and he should be. One issue was all the bugs and mosquitoes. It's hard to minimize them since the hotel is sitting on fertile land beside a huge river. Just be careful where you step. The tiles beside the pool can get very slippery when wet. I slipped and injured myself. Inside our (humongous) suite, bugs weren't a problem. Large floor-to-ceiling windows. The open interior brings in a lot of natural light, but without a divider between the living room and bathroom can be a hassle. When you're showering or using the toilet, you have to close not only the curtains in the bathroom but also the ones in the living room. The bed was very comfortable. The weird thing was that the blanket was only a duvet cover with no duvet/blanket inside it. The room does come with a throw towel in the closet/storage area. It wasn't a big deal because we didn't turn the A/C on very high anyway, but that was odd. Reminds me of Sri Lanka. Some of the furniture looked cheap, as if by an amateur carpenter. Staff explained that there isn't enough hot water to actually fill the bathtub, so we would have to boil additional water. Very strange, but we didn't use the tub anyway, as beautiful as it was. Very little counter space where the sinks are. Why not shift the tub and extend the sink area? Overall, the rooms are beautiful. The best part really is the staff. They remembered that it was my anniversary with my girlfriend, so they delivered a plate of beautiful desserts! Plus the welcome drink and fresh coconuts. We so wished we had more time in Chiang Rai to really enjoy River Rai and their top notch level of hospitality. And we missed the spa!
