A rare Gem! in Bangkok”
The Riva Surya, is located in a prime position close to "Pra Athit"pier, enabling river transport north and south of Bangkok. It is also ideally situated near to a more urban and relaxed Khao San & Soi Rambuttri area, meaning a more laid back and chilled presence. After normal late hours, the area around the hotel, and the Chao Prayer river (with its constant entertainment of varied boats going about their business) all calms down and becomes quiet, whereas not many areas in Bangkok can provide that. The 4 star hotel exceeds everything you could desire from a wonderful boutique hotel. Primarily, the staff are outstanding in their wishes and service to fulfil a complete wonderful experience. The staff are also consistent and genuine. The rooms are of a good size with amazing beds and choice of pillows that you would only expect from the larger pretentious hotel groups. Most of the river side rooms also have a private balcony to watch all the life that the river provides as a lifeline to many Thais. Everything is well laid out regarding the facilities which also encompasses a medium sized, but adequate pool, where food and drinks can be ordered. The simpler things are also memorable, such as "Chad" offering an umbrella for ourselves during a rain storm. What was most memorable was the wonderful staff waving us off with a heartfelt goodbye upon leaving in an arranged taxi. To summarise, there are so many random choices of hotels to choose from at your peril for your important and longing vacation, but I can assure the reader that after 15 nights at the Riva Surya, we were sad to leave such a little gem in Bangkok. No second guessing would we need to re visit again for certain. I applause all the staff! You should give yourselves a pat on the back!!

Ideal location in Old Town ”
Likely the nicest hotel in the old historic part of Bangkok, the river view rooms with balconies are ideal to watch the river traffic float by. Staff is very accommodating, rooms are very clean, the pool is perfect. It's our go-to hotel in Bangkok.

Great hotel right on the river”
This is my second stay here. Another wonderful room, nice staff, great pool. Did not have the breakfast so can't comment on that. Nice location, too. A ten minute walk to Khao San Road, a quiet taxi ride to the Grand Palace. You also don't have to go far to grab a river taxi, either. Will stay here again.

This Hotel is amazing, restaurant has nice food and the room itself is great with a very comfortable bed and pillows. Location is near Khao San road and plenty of beautiful restaurant streets. Don’t hesitate to stay here you will love it.

Exceptional”
Had a wonderful stay at riva surya, the staff were so helpful and couldn't do enough. A special shout out to the guys out front who organise the rather small car park, they did a great job. Our room was spacious and had a great view overlooking the pool and river, the bed and pillows very soft and comfortable. My only negative was the speed of the WiFi, it was often too slow to browse the Web normally, unusual for Thailand

Above and beyond”
My husband and I stayed in Bangkok Thailand for 2 weeks, visiting my family. We stayed at Riva Surya most of the time. Pets friendly!! Room was very clean, spacious and love the big balcony. Staff were very nice and helpful, food was amazing plus the pool. We will definitely stay at this place every time we visit Thailand.

Outstanding!”
Everything about this hotel is excellent! The staff really push it into the “outstanding” category. The rooms are really nice - and if you pay extra for the river view rooms they are huge! My only quibble is the food and drink prices: the food is really good but a little expensive, and the breakfast is very good but, again, a little expensive: however, you’re 3 minutes walk from much cheaper places to eat and drink. Overall this is a great hotel - its located right by a 7/11, and an amazing soup place, and the alleyway by the 7/11 leads to streets that have lots of food, drink, shopping, and good massage places, leading to Khao San (if you’re looking for loud, drunken tourists and offers of ping pong shows and hits of laughing gas!). The hotel is also a 4 minute riverside walk to the pier for water taxis, which are a quick and very cheap means of transport and make the hotel’s location even more attractive. Riva Surya was home for a week and it did not disappoint!

Perfect hotel by the Chao Praya River”
We got a room with a balcony facing the river. Since we cannot lounge at the common areas, having our own balcony was literally and figuratively a breath of fresh air. We had our daily (awesome) breakfast there. The room was spacious and decorated neatly with a mixture of modern and rustic styles. The staff were wonderful and they gave a personal touch to our stay. We would definitely like to stay here again and recommend it to our friends and family. Khob khun kha
