Such kind hosts ”
We stayed 3 nights at this lovely home stay. Room lovely clean, massive bed, fridge and large bathroom with a wall heater if you get cold having a shower ( the weather was chilly when we stayed) the owners are so welcoming and are genuinely kind. Who uses google translate to communicate with lots of smiles and laughter. Breakfast made to order - we had home made chicken noodle soup. The owner had gone the market the day before with a guest. It was lovely but a rather big portion- when the owner saw that I had not eaten all my noodles - he was concerned I was still hungry. He then checked with me that I like another dish. He then disappeared and came back with massive portion bang hun and homemade chicken sausage. That would feed 3 people. Then he checked again wanting to give me more food. He was concerned I didn’t eat all - he then gave me more options for breakfast-. The following day I had banana pancakes- 3 large ones with fruit. The following day we had Shuka which was delicious. Showers are hot, and centrally located, the boats and main car/bus park is 3 minutes walk and you can get to the Main Street that way or the back way. There can be power cuts in the area - the home stay has a backup generator too. Wi-Fi good too. centrally located. After we checked out and collected our cases they tried to give us a large bottle of water for our overnight journey Highly recommend this cute home stay with the kindest hosts. A place that will undoubtedly live on in my memories. We were well taken care of by the elderly couple and their son and wife. Our breakfast was fantastic. The room was neat and clean, and there were no problems with wifi or hot water. There is no complaint!

Very friendly homestay ”
We were travelling with our 4 young children and we all really enjoyed our stay in Ruby Homestay. Ruby is a charming and very kind owner who has been so helpfull and so nice to our children, he even taught our daughter to count in vietnamese :) The children were feeling at home. Everything is made to make your stay comfortable. The rooms are clean and spacious, the garden is lovely, and the breakfast was delicious. The location is perfect, quiet enough but in the heart of Tam Coc. We would warmly recommend to stay in Ruby Homestay when visiting Ninh Binh region.

Sweetest elderly couple handling the homestay”
It was an absolute delight to stay here. The location is very near to the tam coc boating and market/ restaurants are all at a 200mts walk. And such loving couple treating us like their kids. We wud have never left had v not had a flight already booked. Must stay 5 stars in love

You should definitely stay here!! Ruby and his wife are the nicest people - they are always smiling! Very accommodating and generous - gave us some complimentary grapefruit from their garden before we left on the bus to sapa! There's a pool you can swim in after long hot days, the home cooked on demand breakfast was delicious - they made great shakshuka for us! Cannot recommend more ☺️

Amazing location great room with hot shower and great AC. Ruby and his wife are such lovely people! They made the best breakfasts and are super helpful. You can rent a bike or scooter for very cheap there and there are many restaurants cafes and bars all around. 100% recommended

In terms of value for money you get what you pay for. But what makes this place magical is the owner Ruby and his wife. I stayed with my partner and unfortunately he got a flu, Ruby and his wife went the extra mile to help us out. The breakfast is also amazing! Overall they are magical and the place is a great experience!

Great homestay”
This is a great budget option for a family. We arrived in the middle of the night and Ruby had made arrangements for the room to be open. Location wise its very convenient to Tam Coc and local attractions and restaurants etc. Kids had access to the pool next door so that was awesome as well. The rooms are pretty simple but fair for price overall. Ruby is the highlight though, he looked after us so well and made the stay amazing. He organised transport at great rates, and exposed us to local foods, language and experiences. I'd stay again if I was back there.

home stay, of course do not compare with Hotel , if want stay as like relative in country then come here. Staffs are owner's family so warmly welcome , also all is cheap , can enjoy home food if guests request . 5min from Tam coc so easy to access here and there. Good luck !!

Our Favorite place in Vietnam.”
We spent six nights in Ninh Bình and were so glad we found Ruby Homestay. We found this place riding around on a motorbike and decided we wanted to move there based on what we actually saw. The pool was excellent and the location was perfect. To put it all over the top, our host was extremely generous and hospitable. We hope to go back to Ninh Bình and wouldn’t think to stay anywhere else.

Lovely owners - so friendly ”
‘Rupy/Papa’ doesn’t speak English but he uses his phone to translate conversation back and forth. He was excellent, very friendly family, from teaching us Vietnamese to offering to take us to his beehives in the Bird Valley. The breakfast is perfect - the best banana pancakes with organic honey from his bees. The bungalows are large and clean, from reading other reviews they are mistaken when saying there is a pool though. This belongs to neighbouring hotel ‘Lavender’ which you can pay to use if you wish. The location is great, a short walk down a quiet road, we hired a bike which you need if you want to get to Trang An, waterfalls etc. Really wonderful stay in Tam Coc thanks to this family.

Exceptional hospitality and Value!”
The owners, Ruby and Cau could not have been more accommodating. From their warm welcome and exceptional friendliness to their arranging a taxi for our departure and everything in between, it was a great experience. The breakfast was custom made and Delicious and a delicious lunch is available too. We had 2 rooms (small, individual cabins) and both were modern, spacious, clean and well appointed. With air conditioning and fan and plenty of hot water. The grounds are beautiful and well kept and it’s a very short walk to town with easy access to boats and restaurants. There is cold bottled water, beer, wine and other cold drinks available 24 hours for a reasonable price. Maybe the best stay of our vacation. We were confused at first by the term “home stay”, thinking it may be a shared room or B&B but we’re very pleasantly surprised with the individual cabins combined with the genuine home feel from the owners. A fantastic value!
