Bucolic Setting”
For people who spend most of their time in the city, like us, Ruen Pruksa 2 is a wonderfully relaxing escape....plush tropical foliage, lily and bulrush ponds and securely hidden from the clutter, noise and pollution of urban life. I rated the food as 4 which would breakdown as 5 for Thai and 2 for American breakfast (cold fried eggs with 2 small wieners). Location got a 4 since the fact that it is well hidden from hectic urban life is both a plus and a minus....plus for relaxing but difficult to find. On getting off the bus from Chiang Mai our first cabby gave up trying to find it after about 30 minutes... the next cabby finally found it after another hour and 40 minutes. The resort management needs to find a way to make it easier to find....or people will give up trying. All in all, a great place to relax...if you can find it.

Rooms Small(tiny) Needs Renovating badly. Stayed 2 nights Ruen Pruksa 2 then went to Ruen Pruksa 2 nights (the newer resort just up the road) Rooms 3x bigger & more alot more comfortable rooms. Go to Ruen Pruksa 300% better for almost the same price.

relaxing and friendly”
both couples enjoyed the stay, we were on buying trips for plants and did a lot of travelling. The weather was extremely hot and the staff actually phoned us to ask if we wanted them to turn on the air con in our rooms before we returned so it would be cool when we got back. Breakfasts were really nice, staff were great and very friendly, they helped us out a lot and made our stay very pleasant. I loved the shower, big rose and steady pressure, rooms were clean and well sized, beds comfortable and the gardens. water side decking were very nice as well. We will definitely stay here again in the future. Rooms are a bit dated but we enjoyed them.

We didn't like it. Owner has two hotels same name . The Ruen 2 isn't worth it, but do what you want”
Got this hotel because the owner uses the same name for two hotels just down the road from each other. Stayed at the Ruen was going to stay again. When booking didn't notice the sneaky number 2. They wouldn't let us change when we arrived at the original hotel so we thought ok we'll go to 2. There not far apart. When we got to the 2 I didn't like it. We've spent 14 nights in 11 different hotels around Thailand. The Ruen 2 was in the bottom 3. The other two where a late night pull in 515 Baht need a place to sleep. And an economic hotel on an island with accessibility and location its draw back but great view of the ocean. Got what we paid for with both of these. The Ruen 2 was just as bad as the 515 baht hotel or maybe even worse we were laughing trying to decide. Ruen 2 has no place to sit and have a drink on balcony watching the sun go down over the ocean; But charged the same price, over 900 Baht. Because of the price lack of cleanliness or view makes it the worst stay so far.

Beautiful Property, disappointing Room”
We paid extra and booked the 1 bedroom Villa, not sure thats actually the room we got. almost no table space. The property is beautiful and peaceful. The room is small with a very hot and uncomfortable bathroom. The Bed is comfortable. The Air conditioner can barely keep up with the hot weather. The Internet is excellent. The Staff is very friendly. Be aware, that Agoda has the incorrect location on their map which was a HUGE disappointment as the location is why we booked this hotel not to mention getting lost at night time.

We love the place where is surround by trees and water. The room was not sound proof. We could hear our neighbor activities in a late night. The coffee shop was nice.

Nice place out in the green, I really did enjoy my stay there. Internet very fast, breakfast was good, tried the rice soup and also an omlett. Pool not useable because not being maintained/cleaned. Couple of big spiders and geckos in the bathroom, but thats to be expected so close to all of that green.

The only point I would comment mosquitoes which you can find them everywhere inside a bathroom since the bathroom is an open air design.

Dining is not easy although food is delicious. Have to wait for about an hour for the food to arrive. Didn't know order stops at 3 pm. Staff kind enough to get use rice. Ref and microwave provided so got wise on the 2d night. A noodle shop opened on the day we left so I hope future customers will have better dining experience.

Great experience with natural surroundings. There is also a trdition sweets factory aside. It show the old fashion of Thais life along the canal.
