Excellent choice for my trip”
I know Vung Tau very well having been to Vung Tau on many occasion and spent a lot of my free time in the city over the years. I have relatives living in Vung Tau and visited them very often. On this occasion I selected Sakura Hotel in Vung Tau thinking that they must be somehow related to the Japanese Sakura Hotels and be a quiet place which I need on this trip away from the beach scene. Little I know that it is a small boutique family run hotel. It was the warm welcome of the lady owner Hoa and her whole family, which set the tone for a very pleasant stay. We talk for a while after our arrival. Since the rain was pouring, my partner did not want to go out for lunch. I ended up driving the motorbike offered by the owner to the market and bought some food. The owner also offered me to join for lunch but I told her perhaps the dinner would be better as I can go and buy fresh seafood from the local market to cook myself. We bought some scallop and the owner bought two large head of salmon for me to grill. Dinner was so good with all the dishes we could enjoy together with a lot of cold beers offered by the owners. Next day we bough octopus and some small fishes and we eat with the family both lunch and dinner with lot of cool beers. I ended up going to bed around 12 midnight and had to wake up at 3:30 AM to be picked up at 4 AM by the Phuong Nam Bus direct to Tan Son Nhat Airport. The trip was too short, but I have now found very good friends in the family and would want to recommend to anyone travel with their family and friends to stay at Sakura Hotel in Vung Tau, especially if you do enjoy cooking seafood and avoid the bad restaurants, who try to rip off the visitors to Vung Tau.

Good choice for Vung Tau”
Although it is represented as a hotel (and it has an elevator), it feels more like a guesthouse or homestay. Our room was nice and big, with lots of places to store our belongings, chairs to sit on, a desk and small balcony with a table and chairs. Toiletries are provided - a haphazard mix of shampoo, lotions, soaps and so on. In-room coffee and tea was stocked daily - different brands all the time. It sort of feels as if you are in someone else's bedroom! The owner is a really sweet lady who speaks good English and will do anything she can to help you plan your visit. She arranged for us to rent a motorbike for 100,000 VND ($5) per day, did our laundry for us (free), gave us some great tips for dinner and set us up with a bus back to Saigon (no commission charged). On our first day, she even bought us coconuts to cool down, and gave us presents when we checked out. So you really can't go wrong here. It's on a quiet street about a 15 minute walk to Back Beach or 30 minute walk to Front Beach. It's not a luxury hotel, but it is basic, comfortable and quiet. The air con worked well, but the wifi was a bit spotty (not sure if it was theirs or if it was all over Vung Tau). By the end of our week-long stay here, we felt as if we had a new family. If we return to Vung Tau, we would definitely stay at the Sakura again.

Great Bang for the Buck”
My second stay at Sakura is as good as the first. For about $15.00 dollars a night in the heart of the Vung Tau, the large and well groomed "standard double" room is more than adequate for the solo traveler or the coupled travelers. Besides containing one double-bed, the "standard double" contains a mini-refrigerator stocked with sodas and bottled water, a large bathroom with hot water for showers, a strong air-condition unit, a powerful, circulating fan, a flat-screen television with basic cable, tooth brushes, mini-soap bars and shampoo packets, small cabinets with lamps, a small coffee table with two chairs, a large closet, a work-table with chair, and a few trash bins. The hotel itself has an elevator, a convenience to lessen the strain on the back. I highly recommend Sakura.

Very good help from staffs and beautiful room”
Hwa amazed us with the effort she put on Sakura Hotel. First, the hotel entrace is nicely decorated and there do have lift to go to our room in level 2. The room is very nice as many small little thing are provided and we can feel how much effort they did for the room. Water given is more than enough, there is extra two bottles of water in bathroom. Not only normal thing like toothpaste and toothbrush being provided, they even give us few choices of hair and body shampoo, but also bath sponge and comb too!! Big thanks to Hwa as she borrowed us a long pant as we need it to visit Christ Statue. Not forget to mention Hwa's husband as he help to book bus ticket and fetch us twice by bike to send us toHera Palace for the very delicious seafood egg noodles. We do enjoyed our trip in Sakura Hotel!!! Highly recommend for staying in here :)

Lovely Hotel in Great Location, run by delightful family. Better than 5 Star”
Surely the most delightful hotel I have stayed in anywhere, run by the delightful Ms Hoa and her lovely family. Set in a perfect location in Vung Tau, between Front and Back Beaches and easily accessible to anywhere you would want to go. My room was lovely... not so much a typical hotel room, but more like a guest room in a friend's house. Everything is kept spotlessly clean and tidy and nothing is ever a problem... breakfast, laundry, motorbike or bicycle hire, local information. You just need to ask. Ms Hoa speaks good English, always with a happy smile and a friendly laugh, so communication is no problem. If you have breakfast, it is prepared for you, and taken, in the family kitchen which suggests you are in a warm homestay rather than a cold hotel. I stayed 5 nights initially, and returned for a further 7. Needless to say I will be back again.. and again.

The best 1-star hotel I've ever stayed”
It shouldn't be rated as 1-star hotel since it's much better than some other 2-star or 3-star hotels regarding room quality, service and hospitality. We stayed in a double room. It was a big surprise when we first came into the room because it's super clean and tidy with well decoration and preparation. You should have everything you need in the room with no extra cost. We used 4 bottle of waters and they're all free when checking out. The owner and her husband are really nice and kind. Location is really easy for you to go to other places around the city with a motorbike. Definitely will stay here next time when I travel to Vung Tau

Nice room, extraordinarily kind family run hotel”
It is a small hotel run by a family. She is a very lind and helpful lady which makes great japanese and vietnamese food! She is very helpful with arranging transport and money transferring. The room is simple but clean, a typical home-feeling room. I will def come back to Sakura if i cone to Vung Tau again (thou there is nothing much to do at Vung Tau)

Warm welcome”
In the name it's a hotel but how it is ruined by the family, it looks like you have a room in their house. English is well spoken en I had the most warm welcome in a hotel in Vietnam ever. It's located just outside the noisy area of Vung Tau but a within a short stroll you are on the beach. Its near bars and restaurants as well. The room was nice, clean and decorated with the view of giving you a homy feeling. Next time when I'm in Vung Tua, I will stay here again.

Friendly, Warm, Comfortable”
Staff were the highlight, pleasant, friendly and very helpful. In an area where every hotel offers room by the hour, this hotel did not which was nice. Price is great for the room size, semi self contained room. please consider if staying in vung tau, walking distance to both front and back beach make it ideally located.

Perfect place to stay in Vungtay”
I spent a week in Sakura hotel with my friend and it was just great. We staid in another hotel in Vungtau and it was not so nice for the same price. I did not expect to get such nice clean room for this price. Stuff was very helpfull and nice, at the end of our stay gave us Vietnamese tea as a present. I would recomend this hotel for anyone. I have no idea about it's location as we used taxi all the time which is very cheap. No swiming-pool, but you can come to any hotel to buy ticket for about 100-200 dongs and stay at the swiming pool as long as you wish.

Impressive Interior”
The interior of the rooms in Sakura Hotel is eye-pleasing. The proprietor provides each room with a small desk, a small coffee table with two chairs, flat screen television, four complimentary bottles of drinking water, complimentary instant coffee packets, free packets of shampoo, an electric water kettle with ceramic cups, and other little niceties. Other amenities include hot water for shower as well as a strong air-conditioning unit. All this gives each room its own personal dimension. I highly recommend Sakura Hotel.

I have stayed in several hotels in Vungtau for my weekend , including Imperial, Green, Lan Rung ... etc. I am so impressed with the room i had in Sakura . 25 usd for a full equipped and furnished 45 square meter apartment...!! I feel like am at home . The owner Mrs Hoa is a super Host . She always smiles and eventhough we didnt chat much , i can tell she is always ready to assist me . She cleans the rooms by herself and keeps the rooms so incredible spotless . Her Sakura hotel reflects her character . We adore her a lot and definatley come back as well as recommend for friends !

When I first came in the hotel room, I wondered why I didn't know this hotel earlier”
This is really really an amazing hotel I've ever stayed with only 300k/night for a double bed. Love the way the owner takes care of the room, it is very clean and there are more than enough necessary items for the room. Staying here, I can walk to many places I like such as the beach, the Kito mountain, the Bánh bèo Tuyết Mai. I will stay here again if I go to Vung Tau next time.

It's much more than your expectation!”
My family and I felt so good likely living in our own house during the short staying at Sakura this first time. Once we book a hotel (even one-star hotel), we always expect it is a hotel, not a guest house and Sakura is much more than a one-star hotel. Besides, the Apartment is a great choice that you SHOULD NOT MISS IT. I had managed to spend one more night with my family in this Apartment but unluckily, it was unavailable. It really costs every penny! I definitely will come back this place next times. The only one thing I am wishing is Sakura will be soon equipted with the in-room telephone so that room-to-room connection can be done in a much easier way.

Lovely place, lovely owner”
I was only in Vung Tau for one night before getting the ferry to Con Dao. This hotel was a welcome change after weeks in hostels! The bed was comfy, plenty of sofa/armchair space, and the bathroom was well equipped with toothbrushes, cotton buds, combs etc. Everything was clean. Nice selection of teas and coffees! The owner was so lovely when I got lost in the town when I needed to get to the ferry port, and spoke to my taxi driver to make sure I got to the right place and got the right ticket :) she also gave me water and a snack for my journey!!

Very good place to stay”
Not much to complain here really, the WiFi hit 20Mbps upload and download, I have only seen that in Hong Kong before. Everything more than you can ask for the price, can't do better in this range. My only gripe was the angle of the TV on the wall that made it dark and couldn't be adjusted. You can also get an old bike at cheap price if you want it - and that is really needed to get around the Vung Tau, the bakery at the corner of the main street is really really good too.

We came on weekend so price was a little high, however the owners were very nice and pleasant. The room was well furnished. Will use again if i came back to Vung Tau.

Comfort stay in rainy Vung Tau, friendly hosts”
i missed the room right after we checked out. Love the well prepared bed. Recommend booking earlier before it is sold out, especially at weekends. Definitely will choose this one for any upcoming plan in Vung Tau.

Fantastic place to stay.”
This place has to be one of the best places I've stayed on my travels in the last 4 months. The owners are really nice people and gave me a warm welcome on my arrival. The rooms are beautiful, decorated and furnished in a way that it doesn't feel like you're staying in a hotel, it has a more homely feel to it. Bed was very comfortable, tv was good with a good selection of English channels, shower worked well, aircon was good and WiFi also good. The room was cleaned to a high standard each day and supplied to the room was tea, coffee, water,,juice, biscuits and an endless supply of toiletries. Another nice touch from the owner was that she went to the restaurant each morning and got me breakfast. I would highly recommend this place and when I go back to vung tua I'll be staying there again.
