I had a pleasant stay. The hotel sat on a quiet strip of beach which made for a relaxing stay. The staff were wonderful, helpful, and very responsive. I thought the hotel was well kept for the most part. The pool and dining areas were very clean, my room was clean. A little dated and small but comfortable enough and served its purpose. I had a wonderful massage at the hotel as well. I would recommend to my friends and would definitely return.

Fantastic room, remote location”
The room is by far the nicest I have stayed in at this price point, period, and could easily go for twice as much in a more densely populated area. It is located at the bottom of a steep driveway, which they shuttle you up and down on request. You can rent a motorbike at the top of the driveway, which is what we did. Access to local restaurants and shops is by beach access only. Limited connectivity by road.

fantastic location”
The Salad Buri is actually a great resort at one of the most spectaculae spots on Phangan. Unfortunately, it is apparent that it has been hot by the pandemic, as its restaurant is closed and the huge pond, sprinklers and waterfalls are out of order. Nonetheless, the remaining staff are doing their best to keep the place up and running. So there is hope that this place will be up and shining again in the future.

Good point: staff very friendly, good restaurant not expensive, good location on the beach, nice swimming pool area. Downside are: a bit expensive for what it is, room are a bit old (but functional), villa with pool never get the sun hence the pool remains cold enough (like 24degrees), some villa can get very height (like 7 building floor to climb everytime you go to your room) but our was only 2 building floors height.

Weird COVID times but still wouldn’t recommend. ”
Granted due to covid, the hotel was pretty empty but I’m sorry I still wouldn’t recommend the hotel to anyone. The rooms are very old and smell a bit moldy. The furniture is old wooden and outdated. Upon checking in my electricity didn’t work nor the hot water, once again had to call someone to fix them. The staff kept telling me the hotel was closed and that’s why nothing worked.. but then why is management putting the rooms on OTA? Finally I settled in and then of course realized the WIFI that was provided didn’t work either, and no one was answering reception. This went on and I decided to stay the time I had paid for and go to a different hotel. I did not feel welcomed to the hotel nor were the rooms nice to be in. I don’t understand why Agoda dated a 4 star to be honest, perhaps the upgraded rooms? - Be careful the hill to get down to the hotel is VERY steep. I am a very experienced motorbike rider and it’s nearly vertical. You will need a bike as it’s is 10min drive from town

Disappointing service”
Apart from a great view over the bay from our room, we cannot recommend this place. The (predominantly male) staff is really disengaged. Whenever we had to look for someone they were not easy to find ... and we had to look for someone often, especially during breakfast for simple things like getting an omelet or glasses. Also, the water in the room was cold on the first day. Apparently you have to tell them so they turn on the water heater.

Second time I’ve stayed here first time was fantastic. This time was terrible. Mattress was horrific. Staff bar two were rude and unhelpful. The lady on the front desk during the day has the worst customer service skills I’ve possibly experienced and I travel 5 times a year. Restaurant expensive and low quality. Breakfast terrible and all around give this place a miss there are better places to stay. Views and location are great that’s about it

Cockroaches in the room. We trapped some and the staff didn’t take them away when cleaning the rom. Staff was not polite. We booked a private pier drop-off and they got us in a smelly van with another dozen people.. Restaurant was bad. Overall, they were trying to squeeze every penny instead of providing good service

They were very short staffed which meant that the room wouldn’t get cleaned until 9pm at night which was inconvenient. The taxi service was helpful and Mr Nay on reception tried his best but I wouldn’t stay there again. The restaurant was also shut.

Horrible Place ”
The only good thing about this hotel was the view you get form the room. The rest was a disaster. We had dirty bed sheets and hair in the bed. The place is in the middle of no where so every time you want to go out you have to pay for taxi 300 bt go 400bt to return. You could rent a scooter but the place is so far out in the woods that you have to drive it a scary road for 20 mins. The staff are rude and the reception is closed at 10 so if you need anything after 10 pm good luck. They made us pay 100 bt for a cup that we accidentally broke. They say they have a pick up service but they make you pay for it. This place is a joke. A tourist trap!!

This Hotel is wonderful! - Book without hesitation”
Salad Hut is a little bit far from the town and the activities, but you will have this problem anywhere you stay in Koh Phangan... No one walks anywhere. The Staff at Salad Buri will organize the inexpensive taxi trucks that go everywhere in the island, tours or even motorbike hire... a popular thing to do in this island. Also you can hire canoes, snorkels and Salad Hut is not too bad (but there are better beaches in the island). Our room on the lagoon with private pool and jet bath (not spa) was to die for! The first thing I did when we arrived was take pictures of the room! The restaurant was very good. The food was good there is a huge variety to suit all tastes and did not cost any more or less than the food elsewhere on the beach... In fact we paid more to eat in Bangkok. But it was the restaurant and front office staff that made the biggest difference. There were a few little problems but these were sorted without fuss or argument (Tip: don't get angry, take the time to explain the problem calmly and clearly - you'll soon learn who the "go to" people are... That's everywhere! not just at Salad Buri. I am surprised at the negative reviews here. Salad Buri Resort exceeded our expectations. It's certainly scores more than 7 out of 10... more like 9 or 10/10.

My girlfriend and I did a lot of research when trying to find a hotel for the northern part of Koh Phangan. We had to give some thought when deciding to stay in this hotel given all of the negative comments that have been left. So I am here to write something positive!!!!! We thought Salid Buri and Haad Salad in general were really great. Yes Salad Buri is on a hill, but that creates amazing views across the little bay. No I wouldn't recommend this place to my 80 year old grandma, but assuming you can walk and are not extremely over weight - the hill is a steep 2 min walk which is nothing. We stayed in a pool villa, which was beautiful & so much more affordable than the rest of the island. They did delicious beach BBQs, breakfast was great. They had everything that we needed. We would highly recommend this hotel for other travelers.

Best and private hotel we ever stayed at”
we stayed in a pool villa at the top of the hotel.. the view was really great from our villa.. you can see the beach and the hotel from our villa.. the staffs here were mainly burmese and a few thai ppl so its very easy to communicate if you are an english speaker.. they were really nice and friendly.. there were 3 swimming pools; one for adult, one for kids, and one for bar and relax.. the hotel was very clean and new.. the staff said it only been built 2-3 years ago.. the breakfast was amazing.. they also have seafood bbq at the beach every night.. so i recommend family, couple, and ppl who want to relax and spend a quiet and quality time to stay at salad buri resort and spa.. the hotel is located at a quiet beach and about 30-45 mins drive to the main market.. overall, if i have any chance of going back to koh pangan i will definitely go back to salad buri resort and spa due to its service, location, and hotel features..

Amazing stay! Loved every second ”
Salad Buri was an absolute treat. We are traveling for a while and decided to splurge out for a week. I've stayed in many 5 star hotels and this hotel was nearly there for 50$ a night, when you split with your lover it was 25$ a night. That's a steal for how amazing this place was! We stayed in B8, do it! Our bed faced the most incredible view, amazing hot shower, very comfy bed, all the amenities you could need in a room. The big surprise was the bath tub we had no idea was on our balcony. When booked in advanced we had a breakfast buffet for 100each, lots of breakie options. Unfortunately never got to use the pool because it was raining for a week. Location was perfect little getaway with a fun motor scooter ride to close by towns. The STAFF was amazing. One of the receptionist was sooo helpful we couldn't believe it, spoke good English, all the waiters were super sweet. The next beach over, Mae haad son had a lovely beach and a bar on the tip of the cove that had tons of swing and hammocks and a place to jump in the water with tons of tropical fish, an absolute never land. Anyways, we have been recommending salad buri to everyone and will for sure be back next time we are on koh phangnan. Thanks for the amazing stay. Just wow.

We had a truely lovely stay in Salad Buri. The room was lovely and clean with a large television. The staff were very polite and nothing was too much trouble for any of them. Haad Salad is a beautiful part of Koh Phangan, where you can get away from the madness and anything tacky. We have stayed in many hotels all over Thailand and this was our favourite one. We really would recommend this hotel to anyone and will definately go back.
