"I was surprised with this hotel when I reached there. Not as bad as I thought it was because I read there’s a lot of negative review about it. I stayed in the West Wing hotel. It was better as it’s nearer to Ichinose (1 bus stop away will be the night ski area, 2 bus stops away will be the food central). The rooms are decent. Hotel staffs are friendly. I did not try any food in the hotel so I can’t rate it. The ski lift is conveniently located just outside the hotel. There’s a convenient store in the hotel that closed at 9:30pm, just in time if u want to grab some essentials or tidbits after the night ski. The ski rental shop and the ski lockers are conveniently located in the hotel. There’s an Onsen but I did not try it. The only negative thing and I will Prince Hotel will improve on, is the heater in the room. Hopefully it can be tuned warmer and allow hangers to hang our ski jacket and pants over it to dry. Else, everything is fine. Will return to the same hotel again."

"I used it in after-season (early April) for ski trip thus the below may not be all the same during the prime season. There were very few guest (maybe 5% of capacity). The manager was friendly and helpful. The room was okay but with a bit of awkward arrangement of beds. Heating was good, controllable. The wifi worked well. No fridge in the room. The public bath was good, open 24 hours. The ski locker room is conveniently located. The food was just enough for me (set breakfast and dinner). Parking was available at approximately 150 meters from the hotel. The access road to the hotel entrance is narrow, there could be congestion in top season when several guests are arriving and leaving at the same time. Ski grounds are about 200 meters walk from the hotel that is a not too pleasant in ski boots."

"Hotel Sunny Shiga was perfect for a 3 night/2 day stay and the staff were all so, so friendly. We loved our stay and would recommend to anyone! Some info for staying in this area: -Get as much yen out before you leave Tokyo or Nagano; ATMs that take American cards are hard to find and almost all places accept yen only. - Ski rental at the hotel was 1500 yen/person for skis, boots, poles, and helmet - Lift ticket was 4500 yen/person for 1 day in the central area (LOTS of slopes to choose from- other options are available) - Hotel serves very little Western cuisine, so if you're used to that you should bring your own food - Ichinose is about a 10-15 minute walk where there are more restaurants to choose from - They allow smoking in the hotel - The hotel sells a 1000 yen/person roundtrip bus ticket to the snow monkey park Overall this hotel was a very pleasant experience and I cannot say enough about how kind and accommodating the staff were!
