"I have stayed at many hotels while in the Philippines. I would like to say that the Sugarland is one of the best if not the best. The staff is excellent and professional. Cleanliness was fantastic, and the rooms you could not ask for much more they were OUTSTANDING. The only thing was location, but hey with the great service, staff and the cleanliness above many of the hotels that I have stayed at even in the United States, I really really enjoyed my stay."

"We arrived in Bacolod around 2AM . The place can easily be located , it’s just few minutes away from the port (we took Roro from iloilo) The lady who assisted us (forgot her name) did not hesitate when we ask l if we can leave our bags since we are going to Lakawon , super “early check in” . The room has two single beds , what we like about is the large restroom with hot shower . 4 stars for location - no jeepneys passing by on 123 lacson street, only can and tricyle. 4 stars on facilities - the pillows are not too comfortable,, sumakit neck ko, sa friend ko okey naman daw, depende lang siguro sa preference ng fluffiness ng pillows ☺️😊 Overall experience - satisfied! . 👌🏻👍🏻"

"hotel location is walking distance to dining and entertainment facilities, 24hr convenient stores, casino. located in golden fields with plenty of taxis waiting to pick up passengers throughout the day. did not feel unsafe walking around late at night around the compound outside the hotel during period of stay despite being the first trip. would prefer the room to come with a safe rather than at the reception desk. no tissue paper only toilet paper. still remember checked in 10.00pm night but was intially assigned a room with loud airconditioner noise, but have no difficulty at all to move another room when the problem was raised with front desk. hotel manager is responsive and very helpful. "I had a very pleasant experience! My room was basic, but clean and comfortable — everything you'd expect for the price. The staff were always polite and friendly, and their speed of service was impressive, especially when ordering food! There was free Wi-Fi and it only enabled poor internet speeds on a few occasions! The temperature of the water when showering was not as hot as I'd have liked, but that has been a consistent problem for me in my three stays in Philippines! The food was served quickly and I found it was to a very decent standard! I ordered steak twice, and was not asked how I liked it cooked, so it came medium to well done on both occasions, with the second serving being larger in size than the first! Initially, I was less than impressed by breakfast, having ordered the American! I'd have liked a full English breakfast with bacon, sausages, fried eggs etc. When I was adventurous enough to order Philippine breakfast, I ordered bangus (fish) and enjoyed it. Although I've found the food in the Philippines okay, in this hotel, the food was much better than average! On a couple of occasions, I had a problem with my toilet chain, and after being fixed the first time, I complained again, and the problem was solved! I've enjoyed it here, and on returning to Bacolod, I've booked the same hotel for three more nights, this time in the Deluxe room! Expect more favorable reviews from this easy going, strict but fair, and happy customer!!"
