Great bungalows ”
Beautiful setting and lovely people. Our bungalow was simple and beautiful in the jungle garden with sea views. The bathroom design was imaginative and practical! Old school beach bungalow. Fans kept us cool at night. Our kids played with the local kids who were full of fun. It’s busy during the day with day trippers but so peaceful at night. The boat men were honest and full of information and the dogs hilarious! A fabulous place to stay.

We have just stayed at Smile bungalows for 1 week and would have happily stayed longer. Great location, food is great but what really makes the place special is the staff. They are so lovely. Would definitely recommend staying here .

Perfect place for chill and rest. It's half hour walk from the road. There is no connection, but wifi works good. During the day, there so no electricity so you can relax for 100%.

Perfect stay if you want to relax and escape reality for a while. The beach is quiet and not a lot of bars or restaurants around. But to be honest this is part of the beauty. If you have time: go to bottle beach viewpoint. It’s worth the climb up the mountain. Oh and most important: the staff is amazing.

I spent three month here which is possibly the longest anyone has ever stayed here continuously.. Paradise place if not for slightly run down huts that need repairing from termites and needing some good general pumpering. The general state of the place is a bit old and not very well-kept , took quite a financial hit during the pandemic , but the location of the place does make up for a lot of places where it lacks. The general atmosphere is very chilled out and family-like, the Burmese staff is extremely kind and lovely. The whole resort is build in a beautiful way and certainly took up the nicest part of the Bottle Beach, other resorts on the beach do not boast such coziness. Much recommended.

Smile Bungalows and the bottle beach are for me a little paradise on earth. Thanks heaven not for the most people, because it's too quiet, too complicated to get there, no hot water, no air condition, no Pool etc.

A great place to stay if you like remote, beautiful and less populated places. Note: You cannot get there with a motorcycle, I had a drit bike and still I recommend walking from the parking space down to the beach.

Good if you want to move away and chill or work”
Very nice bungalows, but the road is almost unaccesible by a motorbike. Have to walk 25min in steep sandy road or pay like 100thb for a jeep. It doesn't seem like they speak english but are very hostpitable.

Warning: very remote!”
It is located on one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. The staff are very friendly. Rooms are very basic and there is no hot water. The hotel restaurant is bland. I booked 5 days reading the hotel advertises itself as a great base to explore the island. But this is not true. It is either twenty minute drive on a dirt road that requires 4-wheel drive or 20 minutes on a small boat to the next paved road. We only stayed 3 days so we could explore the rest of the island. Hotel refused to refund the extra days we paid for through Agoda.

First impressions count. Had great difficulty getting to bottle beach. Since my last visit nothing has improved. Local taxi drivers are not up to the job or deliberately complicate the issues at hand. Upon arrival at bottle beach the receptionist/ manager was unaware of wether i had paid or not. After a difficult day i then had to trawl through e- mails. The aforementioned person was not that welcoming and this did not help with any future dealings with said individual. I am all for a relaxed atmosphere but when i want to pay for my meal i dont expect to be met with the aforementioned person eating his food with an open mouth thus having a full view of the half masticated before it starts its journey into his digestive system. The resoer could be drastically improved in my opinion.

Would not recommend”
The place alone is actually a nice isolated bungalow conglomerate, but the problem is how to get there… and the staff. You have to walk for 20 min on a very steep road and the place doesn’t offer a free shuttle bus service as they should. When I asked the staff if there was a way to get uphill by transportC they didn’t say a word and just indicated the resort nearby as an answer. The guy working at the reception is not friendly at all, plus, to eat/drink you can only buy from their restaurant or the resort nearby (and the prices are not the cheapest).

Very shitty "road" down there”
The bungalows cannot be reached by scooter. The way there is impassable. There are many monkeys, geckos, mosquitoes, flies, also in the bungalow. Always make doors, otherwise the monkeys will come. The beach is beautiful and the bungalows are cute. The attached restaurant serves good food, albeit at high prices by Thai standards. The staff is friendly.
