Very basic, no toiletries etc in the room. Owner was a nice guy although I waited over an hour for him to arrive to check me in. I have stayed in way nicer places than this for similar money

Spartan, but a good value”

SP Guesthouse is an excellent value, but for this price, it is a bit simple. I mainly need: a comfortable bed, a desk with chair, WiFi, and fan or a/c. It has all of that, but no food. The place is old, has not been renovated in some time, but, it is also reasonably clean (there was a dustbunny, and an old dead worm, suggesting that the shiny floor does not get swept or vacuumed all that often). Towels were thin when they were new, and now they are old, so it was not good for getting dry, but the fan helped that. They don't service the rooms daily, but that is common for up-country lodgings. With the damp air, the bath towel never got completely dry. When I ran out of water, I had to go get my own. The location was good for me. Seven minute walk to an excellent morning market, good place to buy prepared food for the day. It is close to one of the main drags with tourist shopping, without feeling touristy. It is 2-3 km from the bus station, but you only need that going in or out of town. One of my favorite things was an INCREDIBLE masseuse on a parallel block 150-200m north. The lady is old, blind, strong, and has great skill in feeling where the body needs work. She worked me so hard that at times it hurt, but without question it released all the tension and I felt great when it was over. 150 baht for one hour, 300 baht for two. Please tip her if you go. I voluntarily paid 400 baht for two hours. Nan is an exceedingly friendly town – if you are also friendly. Smile, get smiles back. Greet, get greeted back. I got invited to join in a sidewalk beer party (not in same neighborhood) and went back two more nights. People do not speak as much English as in other places, but you can probably get by. For example, I had more luck getting to the bus station by asking in English, since they did not understand what I was trying to say in Thai. Few foreigners, but October is off-season. Next time, I would pay more for a more comfortable room but I cannot complain.

Would stay again ”

Warm greeting, easy check in. Had been riding motor bike for seven hours so didn't want to ride any more. Hotelier ran us round to "Tony's bar" to meet some friends and then collected us later, we had to pay for the ride but it's was worth the money. Very knowledgeable about the area. Over flow car park opposite hotel so no need to panic if the two parking spaces in front are taken. Shop opposite that sells beers etc. Bar restaurant about 150 m walk, the food there average and only Thai, 7/11 close by. I found the hotel a bit hard to find as its on a small side road. Comfortable clean rooms with nice shower en suite. I figure the wooden floors could make for some wake ups with noisy walkers but shoes are requested to be removed at entrance. Quiet location. Nan is one of those Thai towns that goes to sleep at 9.30 pm except for a few bars and there are only a few.

Great location, easy access to the city. The accommodations are simple but quite cozy. The owner was very friendly and offered great advice for where to visit, and which restaurants are good. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay.

Good Location”

I stayed at SP Guest house for two nights recently. Since the evening to morning temperatures were pleasant, I preferred not to use the air conditioner. But the overhead rotating fan was a bit noisy. Especially, it made a creeking sound when switched to lower speeds. The owner though is a knowledgeable local, is not thorough with the information regarding local public transport modes. Neither is he on top of the nearby eating places which is pretty important information to give to a guest especially when the guest house does not have any kitchen. There were problems encountered with the electric circuit cut off as well that caused the electricity to go out in the middle of the night till early morning. And during the day time too. Otherwise the overall stay was pleasant and would definitely like to mention that the owner was a friendly person.

Satisfaction ”

The hostel is decorated in northern traditional style. The owner is lovely with warm welcome and guidance on traveling around info. But location is not in the inner city need bicycle or another vehicle to travel where most temples and natural site are at the outer city. There is noises from the upper room's people when walking.

Weak Wi-fi”

The owner was a very friendly fella and the hotel room was fine for Thai standards. The AC wasn't functioning properly, but hell, at least the fan worked. The major problem was the weak wi-fi, especially if you are staying at a room far away from the main router. Overall, my experience was satisfactory.

Decent stay”

Pros....Good location close to restaurants and seven...very friendly owner....room was dated but big and comfortable. Only minus point was i had no wifi in my room (room 103) as too far from router in reception. But good budget accomadation.

The owner confused about our booking. it seemed like he have not checked with the booking. He acted a little surprise that we came! I showed him the booking and payment detail but unfortunately there is no room available for us! He then led us to the hotel of his friend instead. it's kinda confusing.

良い意味でアットホームな、という宿。 1日300バーツでバイクのレンタルもある。 市場まで歩いていけるので朝食の心配はない。 セブンイレブンも近いが、宿の目の前の雑貨屋さんで事足りるので便利。

バスターミナルから歩いて20～30分くらいでした。 チェックインの時に、翌日6時半にチェックアウトをしたい旨を伝えていましたが、翌日受付には誰も人がいませんでした。 連絡先が書かれていたで電話をしてチェックアウトしたい旨を伝えたら、ちょっと待っててと言われて待ったけど、やはり誰も来なくて再度電話をして、部屋に鍵を置いておくと伝えてチェックアウトしました。 早朝にチェックアウトする際は、事前に鍵を部屋に置いたままチェックアウトをして大丈夫か確認した方が良さそうです。 部屋は広くて、テレビも冷蔵庫もついていたけど、一階の部屋に泊まりましたが壁が薄くて外の音や、声ががかなり聞こえました。
