Authentic Thai Experience? (read on)”

You’ll enjoy this home stay if you are okay with an inordinate amount of LARGE bugs. Maybe I’m picky but I do not sleep well with cockroaches and the like flying to the closest light-source. The host was kind enough to kill the ones in the room and help me block the entrances. Her husband was friendly and invited me into the main house for a drink (I was too exhausted to accept). The only other issue is the distance to Phayao proper, but the host will rent you a scooter which will get you there in about 15. She’ll also do laundry for a low-price - if you are only planing on staying one night be aware there is no dryer.

Really nice hosts but felt deceived ”

Star rooms is a nice guesthouse a little out of the way, which is a perk for some. Large room, good facilities, friendly staff. We came to Phayao to relax and spend little money, however our hosts put secret charged on everything... we were offered a lift from the station and he said he was seeing a friend anyway, but when we got to the accommodation to pay he’d billed us for the lift at 3x what a taxi would have cost. We were offered to watch how the wife cooked and said we could eat it with them too, and again the next morning we recieved a bill for it! This would have been fine, but it should have been made clear at the time. Ted was kind enough to rent us his bike for 2 days but it was in pretty bad condition and we were worried it would break down at any moment and end up having to pay for it... in fact we got a flat tire while out and had to get it fixed. Lastly, we could hardly relax when we were babysitting their kid the whole time. Nice people, but wouldn’t come again.

Exceptional”

Very nice family run guesthouse run by a thai women and her english husband. Both are very friendly and helpful and can give you advice about the things to do in the region. My room was very spacious and had a well equipet mini-bar, flatscreen tv, hot wather and wifi. The price of 300 baht per night is unrivalled in and around of phayao. The guesthouse is a few kilometers away from the center but it takes only 10 min with the motorcycle. The owner also offers a ride into town

Séjour exceptionnel”

Nous sommes une famille française de 6 personnes (2 adultes et 4 enfants âgés de 6,8,11 et 12 ans). Nous avons passé 3 nuits extraordinaires. Teddy et sa famille sont des gens très avenants, qui savent vous mettre rapidement à l'aise. On s'est senti comme chez nous. Doy, sa femme, nous a préparé des plats tous les soirs. Ils étaient délicieux et variés. Nos enfants ont pu jouer avec Jeffrey, leur fils dans leur piscine. Teddy nous a loué des scooters afin de pouvoir nous déplacer et visiter les alentours. Il est vrai que cette homestay est un peu éloigné du centre-ville mais cela permet d'être à la campagne et au calme. c'est un vrai petit paradis où la quiétude règne. Teddy est aussi venu nous chercher et nous a ramené à la station de bus de Phayao dans son pick-up. Ce fût une belle expérience pour les enfants. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour et recommandons vivement cet endroit.
