Lovely hotel and staff”
Very helpful staff and lovely little rooms. The bathroom is a bit small and basic but it was made up by the wonderful view of the river! Highly recommend just for that. Lovely evenings relaxing on the balcony watching the fishes and sunset.

Cheap & Cheerful ”
This place is not the Holiday Inn, but it is not Holiday Inn prices. It is basic, but fantastic value for money. Was clean and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. The location is perfect. Literally 30 Sec walk and your on the strip. For me, it was a place to sleep, shower and change. This did exactly what I wanted. Very happy with my stay, and I would stay again.

Great value, lovely staff, central location”
Location is great, I stayed in the rooms floating above the water which were nice. Good and cheap menu in the place. Staff spoke English well and were friendly and helpful. A great tour operator agent is right next to the driveway. The walls of the rooms were a little bit thin; this did not affect my stay but I would be mindful if you are a light sleeper you might have a problem if you were unlucky and had noisy guests next door. For me it was a great stay.

Cozy place with beautiful view by the river”
It was nice and quiet. Very cozy atmosphere. Not like your honeymoon destination of course but for a small getaway it was good. Located within the center or the restaurants and small bars area but you can't here any noise from the place. It's Kanchanaburi so they don't do party anyway,

This place is very basic bungalows the only real problem was tgat they needed new mattereess badly as mine was just springs. But the price was great and the view was beautiful well worth the back pain. I would return to see the sunrise over the river.

Nice raft”
I appreciate to stay here 2 nights. The personal are gentle, the raft bedrooms is old and the aircon is just enough efficient, but I really enjoy my stay. I thought that is possible to fishing from the room but unfortunately the water is about 50 cm deep around my room. Some of my neighbors fished and catch fish ! If you looking for a quiet, simple and romantic place you should like it. For this price don't believe to get a luxurious room but I will recommend this hotel for the feelings.

Nice water chalet on the River Kwai”
Pros : great view from room. Shower pressure. Close to the bars but quiet enough if you're staying the rooms facing the river. Cons : ebbs from the boats on the river shakes the room a little and can give you a little sea sickness. Loads of mosquitoes when it's dark at the river. Room is alright as there's nets on the windows but don't recommend leaving the door open for too long.

Fantastic budget accommodation on River Kwai”
We had a fantastic time here. It's basic but adequate. We stayed in a bungalow and not the raft house. A fan was adequate and enough for the bungalows. It was clean. Towels provided. Restaurant in site. The setting is beautiful right on the River. The sounds of nature is amazing. Guests can be a bit noisy late at night coming back from their party and the walls are thin but that is the case with most budget accommodations. I think its quieter here than some other places as its not as big as some other guesthouses with more guests. We will come again and highly recommend this place.

Our stay at Sugar Cane 1”
Good location within easy distance of everything. Right on the river so can wake up and sit on the terrace watching the world go by. Relaxing environment. The property itself is quite run down and old, the rooms are VERY basic, theres no frills whatsoever, no where to hang your clothes in fact the room furniture consists of the bed and a small cane bedside cabinet. We found the lack of a fridge very inconvenient with 42 deg temperatures outside and even hotter in the room. We didn't mind having no t.v. The wifi was an on and off affair, worked when it worked. Food at the place is satisfactory and keenly priced. The staff are all burmese, seem to be helpful enough. The owner is a bit of a tyrant and orders guests to move their cars so she can have exclusivity of the small covered parking area for her own car (sort of screw the guests attitude I'm more important). She needs to do a course in hospitality and hotel management. If you want a cheapie and can rough it a bit then this place fits the bill. For someone seeking just a little comfort book elsewhere because this place will disappoint.

Location is very central but wafer thin walls ”
I liked my stay here. I stayed in a floating room. It is basic but clean. The location is so close you can walk to almost everything. I liked the outside eating area, it was great to have food and beer while watching the sun go down. Food and drink here are a good price. It is down a side street and on the river so it's well shielded from road noise etc but the walls between each room are so thin you can hear everything. That was it's only downside for me. Cheap n cheerful.

Sugarcane is one of my favorite guesthouses in Thailand. The rooms on te river are simple but gorgeous, people are nice and the food is good.

I thought the place was nice. Everything was very clean, and it was right on the river. Not far from any thing you needed, 7-Eleven was just down the road, and lots of food options near by. It's only 2 k from the bridge so that's not a tough walk.

Get what you pay for plus a great view”
This is a great location. Not far to the Rive rKwai Bridge and plenty of shops up on the main road. Absolutely fantastic view on the water to wake up to. The walls are paper thin so if anybody is talking you will hear there conversation but luckily there was nobody next to us. The beds are comfy the room is clean but has gaps under the doors so welcome in the creepys. But for the price you cant complain at all. Its certainly an experience but would stop again. Perfect for backpackers.
