I loved the hotel so much I extended my stay in Tam Coc another two weeks.I've made so many Vietnamese friends here that I'm considering a very long term stay.

What is important to point out here is the stuff. The gentleman taking care of the place is here at home really. There is always another gentleman on the phone who speaks English- but most of the time he is around too as he is a tour guid and takes ppl around Vietnam. In the morning we went to the market to buy ingredients for breakfast that we helped to prepare - it was a great experience to mingle among locals. In the evening we also had hot pot all together in the garden. We stayed at the big room which has been nicely designed and was very spacious. Bathroom is small but clean. Hopefully the huge development happening in Tam Coc will not have a too big affect on this homestay <3

The location is magnificent and the staff was very accommodating. Bikes were free to borrow. Very clean. Overall great experience.

We had a great time at this place and can recommend it wholeheartedly. Probably the best about it all is the friendly host (the son of the family). When we arrived he gave us a map of the surrounding area and explained us which places we should visit. This might sound like he just gave us some helpful hints. What he rather did was present us with several completely planned tours around the area of Tam coc. If you haven’t planned anything yourself beforehand this service comes in handy. He also went out of his way to ensure that our stay goes well, he explained us a lot of things and was friendly at all times. Sadly the rest of the family doesn’t speak English well, but mostly there were no communication problems. We didn’t see a lot of the father, but the mother was very kind. Around the Tam Coc area you cant easily judge if the location of an accommodation is good, since this depends so much on the sights and places you want to visit. For our needs the Homestay was located good enough. The room and the actual building were really clean, so was the bathroom. During our stay we also saw the family cleaning the property all the time. The building itself is still quite new as well. The food we ordered ranged from being fine to being excellent. We can recommend the breakfast (best one so far in Vietnam) and the fried springrolls which were made by the mother of the family. After telling the son that we love soy sauce he even went to a local market and bought us a bottle. During our stay we rented bikes and a scooter from the host. The bikes were not the best. If you come to Tam Coc in order to cycle around all day, consider renting the bike from another place. The scooter was fine though. Also noteworthy: A door in the 3rd floor is too low (watch your head) and the bathroom becomes slippery after a shower. You should also encourage them to use more soy sauce in their cooking, since it tastes so good. This was our favorite place to stay so far. 10/10

A very nice place to stay, a little off the main road in Tam Coc in a stunning area of rice fields and limestone rocks! Spacious rooms, clean bathrooms. Perfectly friendly staff, on our last day we were going to take the night bus and it was no problem at all to leave our backpacks behind all day. They even let us take a free shower in the afternoon! Highly recommended.

Our family had a fantastic stay. The room was spacious, clean and had lots of extras that we appreciate such as table and chairs, wardrobe & bedside table. The family who own the hotel were very accommodating and helpful. I would highly recommend Thai Thuong Hotel.

Nothing fancy, but clean place, nice staff, and good location in Tam Coc (9 km out of Ninh Binh but where everything is). The internet wasn't working properly and I didn't try the food in the restaurant, so can't comment on that.

Firstly I must say that this hostel is in the great location to travel around Tam Coc, Bich Dong and Mua Cave. That's why I choose to stay here again 2nd time. The service is ok with free breakfast but things in their restaurant are expensive. I think this is the only place that you can have fun with your friends whole night in Tam Coc.

I arrived in the middle of the night and they were so kind to set up a place for me to rest until daylight. I came from Phong Nha at 3 am and they warmly welcomed me at that hour. The sweetest family with the best home meals. Breakfast is huge and filling. If I get a chance to visit Tam Coc I'd definitely stay there again.

Best place we have stayed in South East Asia. Kind staff. Nice clean rooms. Large clean bathroom with hot showers. The rooms were very nice considering the price. Made up everyday. This place should cost way more than it does. Breakfast included and amazing. Great ommletts with bread cheese and fruit. Staff gave us fruit whenever we were waiting around the hostel. Booked a bus with them and got a snack and water and the lady waited an hour with us to make sure we got on the right bus! Rooms are perfect for a couple or friends. There is nothing bad to say about this place!

The Hostel seems to be in a small Village in Tam Coc, which is extremely beautiful. You can rent a bike there and Explore the rural area around. The people are very friendly and will greet you. The Staff is also kind and helpful. The only thing is that it you don't have a personal Light source at your bed, which can be a bit annoying. But other than that everything was more than fine!

The hostel sits right on the banks of the river with a great view and atmosphere. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. Very comfortable beds, helpful and friendly staff.

The lady that manages this homestay is so sweet! She doesn’t speak much english but with google translate, we could easily communicate. She prepared simple breakfast for us every morning, helped us with our bus to our next destination and provided us with a motorbike to visit the area. She also offers laundry service, which is slightly more expensive than other places (2$/kg instead of 1$). The bungalow was big, nice AC and bathroom. Would recommend this homestay for your stay in Tam Coc! It’s also right in the center, close to the bus station, restaurants, shops, etc!

we just stay here 1 night but we were really happy. The hotel is near Tam Coc Bich Dong, you can walk to visit there. The staffs are really helpul and friendly. The breakfast was very good

I had a really pleasant time staying here as the bungalow I booked was clean and comfortable, as accurate as the pictures posted in the ad. The entrance was a little difficult to locate at first but it's location is actually very very close to the tam coc river cruise location and main street of local food (after taking a shortcut shown by the staff). The provided breakfast is also decent with a dining area that overlooks the river where the boat cruise goes through. They also have an onsite restaurant that serves decent food, albeit at slightly higher prices that the main street's food. All in all, it was a very pleasant stay and its definitely recommended when visiting tam coc

I stayed here several nights. The location is very convenient as a base to do daytrips from. It's almost directly opposite the Tam Coc boatride boarding station. It's also where most busses stop, so you can just walk to the hostel and don't need to take a taxi. The hostels rents bicycles, which I highly recommend for exploring the area. My bike broke down on the second day and I had to walk a bit to get back. I was worried I would get a lot of trouble because of that (even though it wasn't my fault it broke down). However, upon returning to the hostel the lady who runs it was more concerned about me having to walk some distance than the bike breaking down. I also didn't have to pay for renting the bike that day. That just goes to show how nice the staff is there. Onlu one of the ladies speaks English, but all the staff are very friendly. I even got a lift into Ninh Binh for free on my last day, which was very nice of them. The beds are fine and have curtains so you can have some privacy. Wifi worked well. The lockers are not very sturdy, but they held my stuff and nothing was stolen. Bring your own padlock though. Showers were simple, but fairly clean. On two evenings there was no warm water, but that is noy unusuall on budget accommodations in Vietnam. The homestay is behind the restaurant the family runs. I didn't eat dinner there (plenty of other restaurants within walking distance), but the included breakfast was fine. I would recommend this accommodation if you want a base to do daytrips from Tam Coc. If you want to stay in nature, there are nicer places, but they will be further away from Tam Coc.

everything was nearby and staff is very helpful, if you are unsure what to do in tam coc the staff are more than willing to help guide to and they speak great English. I rented a motorbike for cheap and ate the free breakfast and coffee daily, very much enjoyed my stay. the rooms didn't have AC but it was bearable as they have several fans on each bed. beware of random power cuts throughout the entire region. not really the fault of the homestay

apparently the same family runs two businesses, so we were offered to move for the same price to a homestay. And it was just magnificent. Kind family, huge breakfast... Check it out at Tam Coc Smile Homestay

we didn't really like ninh binh so decided to give a hotel in tam coc a go and i'm so glad we did. there was actually a power failure at the tam coc resort so we ended up staying in 'The Long' hotel across the road which was great. We had a lovely time our room had big windows and we had a great evening of playing cards on the lovely couches on the restaurants balcony.

Close to local attractions, little restaurants and can easily walk to Tam Coc in 15 minutes. Lovely hosts who helped with every request. Much to see around you with farm life at your doorstep.

We stayed at the Tam Coc Lake View homestay for two nights and we really enjoyed it. Mss Dudu is one of the nicest ladys we met during our Vietnam trip. Her Homestay has 4 small Bungalows and it’s on the quiet side of the lake in the center of Tam Coc. Our Bungalow was super clean, spacious and stylishly furnished. Mss Dudu helped us with everything from renting a motorbike, laundry, giving us really helpful advice for the attractions to see and which time to go best and everything we needed in addition. We highly recommend her place and we would definitely come back to her place, the family and her friendly staff! Thanks for the perfect stay!

A nice place to stay in Tam Coc. It is a little bit away from the town which was ok. No view from bedroom window and charged for bikes but other than that it’s a nice budget hotel.

We have been traveling for 3 months in Southeast Asia and can say with all honesty, this is the best room and absolute best bed we have slept in since we left America. The host family is so kind and accommodating. They do seem to expect that you eat your meals at the guesthouse (missed that memo) but we are vegan so sometimes we would eat elsewhere because as always in anyplace in the world, options for us are limited. In hindsight, I know they would have made us anything to order even if it weren't on the menu. I wish I had understood that in the beginning. Still so kind even tho we didn't always eat there. We would have loved to have stayed longer here, but were on a tight travel time line, we would DEFINITELY stay here again and recommend this to any and everyone we know. Thanks for a great stay!

Tam Coc Victoria Hotel is in the perfect location, located about 150ft from the bus drop-off area. The family who operates the Tam Coc Victoria is friendly and very accommodating, we arrived at 4am and after sending them a message of our arrival time they allowed us to check in. They also served us breakfast after when we woke up later on. Many tourist attractions and great restaurants are located close by and they can help you with booking any excursions. The room was newly decorated, very clean, and the internet worked fantastic. The only downfall is the noise in the morning; loud roosters and noise happening from building construction.

First of all, the location of the hotel is absolutely perfect to visit Ninh Binh. The hotel is 7 km from the city, very easy to access, right in the middle of rice fields & those magnificent cliffs, and 300m from Tam Coc boats ticket office. You won't literally get a room with great view (because of the houses, cables and buildings that block the view) but it's still an excellent location. Secondly, the food served at the hotel is good and not too expensive (though I learned through my Vietnamese friend when she joined us later that they separate menu for Vietnamese and Foreigners, so of course we get charged more. It seems to be quite common in Ninh Binh, but the gap isn't abusive for the amount and quality of food that you get). Thirdly, it is about the rooms. The first night we got a newly renovated room, everything was clean and nice. We was surprised by the quality of the room compared to the price we paid. Though, the air conditionner was not working at all ! It was 40°C inside the room, much hotter than outside, and the fan couldn't get the job done because the air was hell hot. That's why we asked to change the room, what they kindly did. The room was also a big surprise, because for the same price, depending on how lucky you are, you will either get a new clean room or an old-looking neglected one. The bed and the floor was clean, but the blanket was gray with dirts. The bathroom was not as clean as the first one we have, but the air conditionner was working very well ! During this extremely hot season, after a long day, I would think this is the most important ! The overall experience was nice and we don't regret spending money on this hotel. Just be sure to check if the air conditionner is working.

This was without a doubt our favourite homestay we’ve stayed at in all of our 6 months of travelling. The family are just lovely! They gave us loads of information of Tam Coc along with a little map and info about tours/times/ prices on the back. We paid for the homestay family dinner one evening and they put a proper spread on for us! Amazing food! The beds were really big and comfortable (a rarity in vietnam) hot shower with towels. WiFi connect was really good too (always a bonus). We rented a bicycle one day and a scooter the next all in good condition and very good price. If we return to Ninh Binh we will 100% be returning :)

The place is brand new,well maintained and clean. The owner was very attentive and always willing to help out. The whole staff was very friendly. We rented bikes and they were in very good condition. Also convenient location for activities in Tam Coc! Thank you!

Location is great, 2 minute walk to the Tam Coc lake to take in my opinion the best boat ride, where you can see from the boat the top of Mua Cave, and pass through a few caves (we liked this one better than the boat ride of Trang An) You can lease a bike for 50k a day (a good price) and get to other places, such as Thai Vi (10-15 minute ride), and other routes that are a little off the beaten path. Breakfast a la carte is included and cooked when ordered, it is very good. Restaurant is good, but you also have good restaurants on the main street, 3 minutes away walking. Garden Spa, 1 minute away, is a recommended spa to relax after a hard day of walking or climbing stairs of Mua Cave (be sure to make appointment, otherwise they may be fully booked) Hospitality of the family is amazing, I will definitely stay here when I am back in Tam Coc

Amazing, if you are in Tam Coc you HAVE to stay here. They’ve done a wonderful job and the rooms in the little cottages are so lovely. Sweet, comfortable, clean and new rooms with everything you need. The only downside would be the wet room as opposed to a shower but that’s common in SE Asia. Staff were so so lovely, incredibly welcoming and attentive. When leaving, the receptionist even sent us off with a drink for our journey which was a very nice touch. Breakfast was great, lots of choice and perfect too for Westerners - the bread was so fresh! Breakfast is served outside in front of the rice fields; this area is also lit up at night to enjoy some drinks. Couldn’t recommend enough!!

This Homestay is the perfect choice when staying in Tam Coc. Not only it’s located perfectly to get to many awesome highlights in the area (even per bicycle) but mostly because Lien is such an awesome host. Her English is very good and she helps you with every question you have. She and her family are running a restaurant close to the Homestay where they serve awesome food and she brings all guests together on a table if you‘re interested in. She even invited us having dinner with her family which was an amazing evening. The breakfast in the Homestay is great too. I couldn’t have made a better choice! Thanks Lien for having me and making my stay in Tam Coc unforgettable!
