Idyllic Rural Retreat”
Tam Coc Garden is a beautiful resort with a pretty garden, in an idyllic setting surrounded by traditional Vietnamese farms and villages. We found it very peaceful and the ideal place to relax after being in Hanoi. Our room had a lovely view onto the rice paddies and surrounding hills. The beds were the most comfortable we experienced in Vietnam - we found the beds hard in every other hotel. The staff were all very helpful and eager to cater to every need quickly. We enjoyed the Vietnamese food we had for lunches and dinners, however we found the breakfast offer was quite limited compared with other hotels. There's plenty to see close by in the Tam Coc area and the resort provides good information about each place of interest. We were surprised and amazed by the caves we saw on our sampan trip near the resort. We also visited one of the oldest temples in Vietnam, Thai Vy, built in the 13th century and were lucky to arrive when a colourful ceremony was underway. The locals didn't mind us sitting with them to watch the proceedings. I recommend Tam Coc Garden Resort to anyone wanting to get away from it all in Vietnam amidst the beautiful natural surroundings and traditional farms and rural life.

One word - wow!!!”
Having just come from a week in Hanoi, this oasis was a welcome relief! We thought we would treat ourselves with the premium deluxe room (got a deal on Agoda) and couldn't have been more impressed. The room was stunning, with a beautiful sunken lounge overlooking the lakes. The bed was the most comfortable bed we slept in on our trip with lovely fluffy pillows. The bathroom has glass walls, made private by an outer rock/bamboo wall but made it feel light and airy and had a lovely bath with the most incredibly smelling toiletries. With a beautiful garden running through the hotel and a pool overlooking the karst mountains, the hotel is a beautiful setting! The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful - what other hotel have all of their staff walk you to the gate to see you off?!? The location is a bit of a trek from ninh binh (150k taxi - 100k if you negotiate to Tam Coc and say just a bit further) but adds to the peaceful setting. They offer free bikes and you can cycle everywhere really easily. We cycled to Trang An one day, climbing a mountain and going through rice fields and small villages - best day of our trip to date!! The only downside is you probably have to eat at the restaurant every night due to the location, but the food although a little pricey is very good as is the setting and service. You just have to stay at this hotel whilst travelling around Vietnam!!

Beautiful ”
The only downside was when I requested from the resort a car and driver for the day, the cost was to be around $100 US. My daughter, who has traveled in the area, said price was too high and gave me an email address of someone who offered a car and driver for the day for $40 US. That worked perfectly for us. Resort is on a quiet road approx 1 mi from Bich Dong Pagoda. Bikes are available to borrow. The town of Tam Coc is quite busy so we welcomed the peaceful surroundings of the resort. Food at the restaurant is good and we found ourselves eating there everyday since we did not have motorbikes or car.

Great location, great stay”
Tam Coc garden is truly a great getaway from the busy city of Hanoi. The location as well as the room are great. Personally, I find the garden the most stunning feature of the resort. A few comments travellers should take into consideration. There are no amenities in the close proximity, which forces you to eat in the resort all the time. If you stay longer than 2 days this might be a bit annoying. In addition, the resort is a very quiet place, unfortunately Vietnamese people tend to be a bit noisy so this might have a bit of an effect on your stay.

Incredible stay!”
We splurged outside how much we typically spend on lodging for Christmas and we were glad we did. The room was so nicely decorated, the gardens were stunning, the staff couldn't have been sweeter, and the breakfast was outstanding. We enjoyed using the free bicycles and roaming around the beautiful setting. It is just outside Bird Valley with great hikes and a nice cave. The only thing we were a little surprised by was the cost of the special Christmas dinner-57 USD per person. We felt it was too much and went into the small town of Tam Coc for our meal. However we knew the cost ahead of time and were not caught off guard when we arrived. It's an incredible place and I highly recommend staying there!

Stunning scenery, terrific facilities, friendly and helpful staff--what more could you want?”
This is a small boutique hotel, a few kilometers outside of Tam Coc village, comprised of about 16 very comfortable and large bungalows around a central, beautifully landscaped garden. Surrounding the hotel are the gorgeous karst mountains that the region is famous for, and you can see this scenery from the patio of your bungalow. There's a lovely and refreshing pool, free bikes available for riding in the area, and a restaurant with many delicious choices. Breakfast was particularly delicious--don't miss the Eggs Benedict, the Banh Xeo, or the homemade yogurt over fresh fruit. The staff are all delightfully helpful and friendly. If you want to get anywhere outside of bike-riding distance for sight-seeing purposes (as you will likely want to do), you should plan to organize a guide/driver or your own transport (e.g., motorbikes). You are a bit trapped at the hotel otherwise. Not that this is a bad place to relax! This was our favorite hotel in the almost three weeks we spent in Vietnam. Definitely recommend!

Hidden Palace”
We recommend Tam Coc Garden resort to everyone. The rooms all have great vies across the rice paddies as does the pool and restaurant. Bikes are available to explore the surroundings. The staff are the best I have met. So caring and friendly.

Charming & Relax”
Very pleasant stay at Tam Coc garden. The pool is amazing and the general design is really elegant and charming. It's perfect for a couple who wants to relax. Only the restaurant area is a bit less cozy than the rest, but the garden, the pool and the bungalows are really beautiful and have convinced us to come back again!

Nice little paradise”
Our stay was really good and we would definitely come back or suggest the Tam Coc Garden to our friends. Only bad point would be the breakfast that has limited choice of savery western food (as in most hotels in vietnam anyway) and the room that would probably require a little renovations, as it was quite hard to shower in the bath without putting water everywhere. Overall great experience and friendly staff.

Lovely retreat close to Hanoi”
A beautifully kept and calm oasis in the quiet countryside around Tam Coc, only an hour and a half's drive south from Hanoi, making it an excellent weekend retreat. Cycling is a must to experience rural Vietnam at its best.

Close to perfection”
I can't imagine a better choice if you are planning a visit to Ninh Binh. The rates, while high by local standards, are a great value considering the setting, accommodations, and service. There are some minor areas for improvement but it was a fabulous retreat after a very hot and humid day sightseeing around Ninh Binh; I would return in a heartbeat!

Rural paradise ”
We couldn’t recommend this hotel enough. It’s a rural paradise, the design is gorgeous. The staff are very welcoming and attentive. Make sure you make use of the free foot bath every night. The food in the restaurant is lovely. In terms of location, slightly away from centre of ninh binh but we loved cycling in (free use of bikes). You can also go on a river boat just outside main entrance. A stay to remember :)

Great place. ”
Great place to stay if you want some peace and quiet away from the city. The bikes are a great way to get around and see the local attractions and the pool and gardens are awesome. Dihn Tam in the office was lovely, she went out of her way to make us feel welcome. We would definitely recommend this place.

Fabulous hotel”
The resort is fantastic situated by the river, surrounded by mountains and gardens. The rooms are very nicely designed, the bath is fab. The staff is very attentive and always ready to help. The food and wine in the restaurants is very good. The pool was cool but very beautiful in tropical gardens. The breakfast was superb with a first-class service. Amazing stay. Really worth the money.

From family with children”
I spent 2 night with my husband and 2 daughters at tam coc resort. I paid 3,000,000 Vnd per night for one room, this price is quite expensive compare with other 5 star resort in Viet nam. The resort is quite beautifull and cute but small. Breakfast were terrible and not much choices. The location is ok, it is convenient to visit tam coc and others. Generrally, it was acceptable if the price wasn't so high like this!

A mistake: We booked for one night only!”
Regardless the “water surplus” due to the typhoons the hotel crew transported us over the flooded area to our rooms. The warm welcoming at the reception was the beginning of a very agreeable overnight. The hotel was like an oasis – defying against water. The garden and the rooms were real gems. And gems are the people working there as well – from the manager to the waiters. The ambiance in the restaurant (balcony) was wonderful. The same has to be said about dinner menu. You will not starve – the portions are big. Overall a pity that we planned to stay one night only. There might be another time!

GREAT PLACE”
Located in the middle of rice fields, it's a real oasi far away from the hustle & bustle of Hanoi. The rooms are amazing! Large sitting area overlooking your private garden, wonderful bathroom and very comfy bed. No TV, no radio, no wifi connection (available at the reception, restaurant and pool area). Only the wonderful sound of SILENCE. The reception staff is very friendly and helpful and always ready to anticipate your needs, There are bycicles available free of charge to allow you to expolre at the best the surroundings. Unfortunately food is not so good. Both dinner and breakfast did not enthused me. But since there is really nothing outside the hotel, you don't have better chances

Your best retreat in the district”
We stayed in TCG for 4 days, 5 nights. Maybe one day too much, since by then everything in the surroundings have been sufficiently absorbed. This is a 16 bungalow hotel, each bungalow with free view on the karst mountains and surrounding paddies, i.e. between December and March. In other seasons there is just water, and lotus flowers. The front desk staff is extremely hospitable and helpful. The restaurant staff should refresh their English courses. The garden is lush, the swimming pool has the right size. The restaurant is good, but with ups (grilled fish with galanga or chicken with passion fruit) and downs (goat on lemongrass). Two beef dishes are exactly the same apart from the foil. Breakfast is limited, but with sufficient choice. The rooms have two issues: unfortunately one cannot sit outdoors and the shower is really clumsy. This is a hand shower over a small tub, so your bathroom turns quickly into a pool. We would have expected an outdoor shower, but alas. Airco is good, the beds are great and the sheets are starched! WiFi is working surprisingly well. The free bicycles are a must to ride. Don't go (by car) to Kenh Ga. I wonder what it really is, but NOT the advertised floating village.

Perfect place!”
Beautiful grounds, great cocktails, delicious food combined with a thoughtful and friendly staff. They had such an attention to detail-- we were by the pool when thunder started and threatened rain. When we returned to our room, the staff had moved our sneakers neatly under an awning. The room was gorgeous with interesting details and a very comfortable bed. The garden was so well maintained and lovely to walk around. We would definitely come back and recommend!
