This was honestly one of the best stays in our whole 4 months of travelling so far. The hosts were the loveliest people, always helping us with planning our days and transport, giving us free fruit and water when they saw us and offering the amazing free breakfast! The room was big and clean, we enjoyed our stay here so much I really recommend it! We hope to come back sometime in the future, thank you so much😊

Really wonderful family that was so welcoming and helpful. We rented bikes and ate breakfast at the home stay which were both great. Room was lovely and very clean. Highly highly recommend!

Best place to stay in Tam Coc”
Nice position in front of the River and near the boat pier. Nice and very clean room. The very best of this piace is the owner Lan and her family, always ready to give advices about activities and very helpfull in everything you need. The perfect piace to stay in the nice Tam Coc.

This family is very friendly. They told us that breakfast time is bfore 9am (if i'm not mistake) but we woke up late, and they still ask us what we wanna eat, and cooked especially for us. we plan to add on another night but their room is full, then they book another room in their uncle homestay (adjacent to theirs) with the same rate as their rate (30% cheaper!). And the next morning, we have to catch up the bus to cat ba island, they gave us lot of banana for us to eat in a bas, eventhough we didnt sleep at their homestay and bcause we did not have time for breakfast. They are very good family.

Great stay in a lovely family”
We enjoyed our stay with the lovely family. Got upgraded + early check in on arrival, very appreciated. Our bungalow was spacious and comfy with nice view. The owners took care of us at every instant. The breakfast was very good. The location is perfect near the lake but very quiet. The only small issue is that the services (scooter laundry bus ticket) are a bit overpriced.

A gem found in a gem”
I traveled to Tam Coc after reading the area was a hidden gem in Vietnam. It took me a full day to get it. But definitely found an absolute gem in Tam Coc Mountain Lake Homestay. Lan and her family were so warm and helpful. Felt the family was looking out for me, which made it feel homey. Bungalow was very clean. And if you are in town for only a couple of days, the location cannot be beat. Thanks to other Agoda reviewers whose reviews helped me to book. Happy to do the same for others looking to find a place!

Location is great for exploring the area, just about 5 mins walk to the central Tam Coc square with lots of food options around. They offer scooter and bicycle rental for affordable rates, and also can book a driver for you to go around. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was made to order, so it's fresh and tasted great! The family was very warm and welcoming. I highly recommend staying with Mountain Lake if you are visiting Ninh Binh/Tam Coc.

Excellent homestay in Tam Coc! We were supposed to arrive in Ninh Binh at 1700 but our train was delayed so we didn’t arrive until 0030. We had to wake the family up and felt so bad, but they immediately put us in the bungalow and told us to sleep instead of checking in right then. This wasn’t the room we had booked but Lan insisted we keep it and pay the double room price. We rented a motorbike while there and drove all over Ninh Binh. They were so nice to us our whole stay that we wished we were staying longer! Highly recommend!

Lovely stay in Tam Coc”
We really enjoyed our stay in Tam Coc mountain lake homestay. The family is lovely and very hospitable. The place is super-clean, very well located and you can rent bikes and scooters from them. They can also do your washing for a reasonable price and exchange dollars or euros at a very competitive rate. If we return to Tam Coc any time in the future, we will definitely stay here again.

Tranquil Homestay! Great Escape from Hanoi!”
Highly recommended if you're staying in Tam Coc! Our room was spacious an incredibly clean, even the bathroom floor was spotless. We had a big and comfortable bed, definitely the best one we had in Vietnam! Rooms were made daily and towels were changed everyday. Shower was amazing too. Good water pressure and water gets hot almost instantly. Lan and her family were the best hosts. They would do the best to make sure guests have an amazing stay! My favorite was Lan's son - a cute little boy who gave me a daily supply of hugs :-). The location of the homestay was perfect too. It's in a quiet street just a few steps away from the boat station that takes you on a Tam Coc boat tour. Definitely book this place if you're looking for a quiet, homely, location that's surrounded by fruit trees and beautiful flowers in a lovely garden. You'll surely have an amazing time!

Lan and her family were super nice, welcoming and friendly and made us feel at home in their beautiful garden next to the lake in Tam Coc. The breakfast was the best we had in Vietnam and the room was very clean. Lan was the most happy, friendly and kind person we met during our trip and had always a smile on her face, you will love her :) she told us many details with prices about the region and even borrowed us her scooter to bring ours back to Ninh Binh ! I highly recommend and will come back :)

We only wish we’d stayed longer! The room itself was peaceful and spotlessly clean, set amongst the lush garden. Super tasty breakfast too. We hired bikes on the first day and cycled around some local sites and took in the incredible landscapes, and on our second day we had a brilliant time on a guided moped tour organised by Tam Coc Mountain Homestay. I’m a bit of a nervy driver so this took all the stress out of the day and taking the shortcuts and scenic routes to some of the main sites ended up being way more fun than sticking to the main roads! Couldn’t recommend more.
