It was a pleasant and relaxing stay.”
It was a great experience as usual. This is my second time at Tarn Tawan Resort. It is a few hundred meters from the beach and it has close by pubs/bars and restaurants. The quietness of the resort is indeed relaxing.

Place with great location but not for demanding travelers”
Right at Ao Cho beach with clean water, white sand and no speedboats everywhere. Breakfast included in room rates. Friendly staff. Sunbeds can be used all day without spending a single bath for food or drinks. Simple rooms with AC, cold/hot water, fridge, towles and TV. Safety box missing. Rooms could be renovated or at least painted. Good value for money (especially thanks to the location). It is not a guesthouse for travelers seeking high standards or party night life.

great location but small rooms.”
the hotel is overpriced compared to the rest of thailand. just like everything is on koh samet. the hotel staff was friendly but not always efficient. rooms were small, with old fixtures. but clean enough. ok for solo/young couple travelers. the only nice room on premises is the tarn tawan bungalow. but it's expensive. the location however is great. the beach is quiet and good for kids. if you get bored you can always walk to the neighboring beaches for food options and some nightlife. no need for a taxi.

A basic and comfortable hotel tothe beach.”
We enjoyed the location of the hotel at Ao Cho which is more quietr than the beaches North and South where people were lying cheek by jowl in some places. Making up the room was a little haphazard, perhaps reflective of the impression we got that it geared more to Tai visitors. However the WiFi in the restaurant area worked fine, unlike some more expensive places we stayed in Thailand on this trip.

Lovely Resort on a nice beach”
We stayed for 3 days here and had a good time. Prices in the restaurant were okay and the best noodle soup we had. Resort is at A-Cho Beach, not the main beach, so we had a quiet stay and nice walks along the beaches to the main beaches. Most guests were Thais, only a few Farangs

Short but sweet”
It was short, we had limited time, but would have stayed longer. Ao Cho is a quite place and that's what we wanted. This hotel gave us that. We had no problems there. It's a typical Thai beachside cheap hotel. They do all the right things as long as you don't expect to much.

Nice and clean with great location”
I arrived at the resort around 3pm. but had to wait for hours as the room was not ready yet. (They said the earlier guests checked out late) However, I was worth to wait. The room was very tidy and clean. What I love most was the location. The beach was not too crowded. It was more peaceful than Aow Wong Duean. Perfect for swimming with a bit of reef and fish to enjoy.

Calm location with clean rooms”
The resort is a place that maybe doesn't look overwhelmingly great on the outside but the rooms are in a pretty good shape. We could only complain about low water pressure under the shower and lack of soap/shampoo and hair dryer. There is a small minimart (named 108) next to the resort so it's convenient to buy anything that's necessary. The breakfast was acceptable, although I can imagine the choice might get boring after more than two days. Adding some juice choice could make it better. The beach in front of the resort is really nice and clean and the water was clear. The place was not crowded even though it was a Christmas/New Year holiday.

over priced”
family running, like all family running hotels from Thais, they have no taste for beauty .... small but quite, rooms ok, food average, too expensive (I paid 2400 THB for 1 night).. Ao Cho beach is a small and quite beach, not crowded, water is clean ...

Beatiful beach but too far from the main beach”
I stayed at the resort only one night. The room was quite small and there's a problem with water in the room. The water is not clean enough and it didn't come out much even you turn the faucet full turn. Anyway, the transportation is inconvenient because you have to pay 200 Baht every time if you want to hire a mini-truck taxi. The suggestion is that you should stay at the resort if you want some privacy but if you seek for some fun you have to be very patient with the transportation. The food at the resort was good and the staff was helpful. And you can take a walk to the other beach in five to ten minutes walk.

Resort in quiet beach”
First impression about the resort wasn't good. Service was really slow and staff said that we will get our rooms in ten minutes but it took over an hour. Garden view bungalows were basic clean bungalows little bit over priced but there was aircon, hot shower and western toilet. Also rooms were clean and bed linen were white and okay. But if your budget allows I would upgrade my room. Breakfast was nice thai style meal. Only con was location because there were only three restaurants in the beach. Also you had to take taxi or rent motorbike if you wanted to go to main beach to eat or drink because road was dark after sunset. But beach was nice and small in the day time.

Welcoming, Clean, on the beach!”
Enjoyed my stay. The beach and area is very quiet, but there is everything you need. The staff were lovely, family run, organised and very helpful. Breakfast was included & I liked that you could choose anything from the breakfast menu. Room was spotless, loads of space.

nice place right on the beach”
this place is located on a nice, quiet beach. if you're looking for a peaceful place to stay, this is a good choice. although the room was not very comfortable. i think they have better ones for more money. i used the cheapest.

DO NOT STAY HERE!”
Please don't stay here. Worst 5 nights in my life! I decided to treat myself with this accommodation after travelling around Thailand for quite some time but I really regret going here and to Koh Samet overall. It is so dirty here, the fridge was not working and it was moldy. The bathroom was disgusting and moldy. I can't with words describe how awful this room was. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned for a decade. The "restaurant" were the breakfast took place were also extremely dirty, they had several dogs and puppies there at the time and their pee and stool were everywhere. The staff (who was just a young woman) knew very little English and was not around very often. The breakfast was from 8 am to 10 am, but she didn't come until 9 am, so I sat there waiting from 8 to 9 for here to wake up and to prepare the breakfast. The only thing that was good about this place is the location, it is located just by the beach and it is great and not very busy.

good”
Actually, we have no other choice, it is songkan festival, most of the hotels are full, so we booked this one. I thought it would be a terrible place to stay, since the score of this hotel on the agoda is not so good. But i need to say the hotel is not so bad, compared to the others which on the famous beach, the price is low. And it is also not far from the woundom beach. you can walk there in 5 minutes.

Great location, old facility, staff not too kind”
We booked for 2 days only-luckily. The resort is old and unmaintained. Rooms are small and the Garden view bungalow is basically facing the wall with a few flowers to mask it. The bed was terrible, old worn out mattress. Not too clean. For a traveller that is used to back pack style may be acceptable, but not for somebody who's in Asia for the first time. The staff is unkind and the lady boss was not too service orientated, for example: during breakfast(buffet style included in the bungalow price) had fried eggs and since my son cannot eat raw yolks yet, I asked if they can do a scramble egg for him instead. She refused and said only if I order scrambled eggs separately?! The rest of the young staff that speaks English is unmotivated and depressed looking. Good points are: the beach is safe for small kids, there's no bars around that play load music. There's a shop nearby and you can rent a motorbike to go to other places. I prefer Ao Phai beach and most likely will not be back. If so, would stay at the new establishment next door, that is a little bit more expensive, but a completely different standard.

The location was far from Pier and small room”
The hotel was far from pier, it took 20minutes by truck taxi from the port, but the hotel was quiet with less people, food was good too. But the room was small and old, not quite clean.

Maybe if you are a bit desperate”
The fan room that we were given looked like it was a part of a row of stables. It was tiny, with barely enough space for our bags, and had only one tiny window. This actually made it nice and dark for sleeping but the hyperactive roosters that seemed to be no more than a meter from my head, did not help to facilitate a lie in. The customer service at the resort was poor and the staff in general seemed indifferent to our presence. It seemed as though any request more difficult than bringing a menu was directed towards the one girl who spoke some English. Perhaps it isn't surprising that she was a bit surly given the general ineptitude of the male staff around her. They did have quite quick wifi though.
