Great hotel located in the middle of the hip Tay Ho area. The staff are second to none, so helpful and courteous. The breakfast is to die for! Pool is lovely. Lots of eateries nearby. For drinks check out the 5th floor rooftop bar at Home Kitchen. The view is amazing.

This is a new, nice hotel in Tay Ho, the popular expat suburb of Hanoi. The room is nice, staff is friendly and staying there is comfortable. The area has lots of activity, excellent restaurants and cafés within easy walking distance. However, walking in the neighborhood is sometimes a bit awkward because of the lack or poor condition of sidewalks. The breakfast of the hotel is not especially good but you can make use of the wonderful cafeterias in the neighborhood e.g. Joma, Annam Gourmet, La Salsa, St Honoré etc. Or you can buy some delicious fruit and enjoy a fruity breakfast in your room. To me the only tasteless thing in the hotel was hosting a boring Starbucks cafe downstairs. Vietnam is famous for its excellent coffee and wonderful coffee shops. It is true lack of imagination to lose the opportunity to present some of that local culture to the visitors of the hotel. It would also be more sustainable policy to favor the local enterprises instead of an American megacompany.

This was our 1st trip Hanoi to visit our adult son teaching English. Spent most of our time in Old Quarter, but then wanted to stay in Tay Ho area near his apartment. The Hanoi Club was a great choice. Beautiful location on the lake. Large hotel like most in the area. Would choose again with future trips

right on tay ho lake, great views to lake. about thirty minute walk, or three dollar cab ride to old quarter. nice walk. breakfast is 21 dollars apiece! we didn't eat it. pool area pretty nice. rooms pretty quiet, but noise from busy street below is noticable. we enjoyed the hotel a great deal, it is what you would expect from a sofitel.

Not encoutered any negative issues. All good. Room is big. Location is a bit away from business district. But given difficulties in finding a big space room/hotel with window and reasonable price in Ha Noi, it was a good choice.

The residence has a direct access to Ho Tay, playground (indoors and outdoors) bus services to all main spots in Hanoi. Staff speak excellent English and very friendly. Best place I stayed in Hanoi with my 2 toddlers.

Spent two nights in a mini break. We live in Hanoi and are moving away so our home is empty. Been in Sheraton before. Ok place for this purpose at least. Very expensive food though so you might prefer eating elsewhere which is easy in Tay Ho.

We felt so welcome once we step into Fraser Suites, the staff were friendly, helpful & informative. We had helped from the staff to make reservation for New Year Eve dinner at a nearby French Restaurant & there were so much initiative, from asking any special celebration to even considering asking is it possible for our 80 years old parents to climb to the 2nd level of the restaurant. The security at the door was also attentive, once our family reached the lobby, he started contacting his colleague who was stationed near to our chartered van, which was parked along the street. The buffet breakfast was awesome, great spread & good service & although on Sunday we had to go to another nearby location for breakfast it was fast & good, with excellent service as well. The room was so comfortable & the room on the 21st floor had great views & the area in Tay Ho District was quiet & not as crowded, but yet not far from the city centre. The shopping small mall next door & shops around the area were not short of any quick essentials, for little bites & necessities. Last but not least, to our surprise, it was so thoughtful to present a gift to mum on her birthday on Sunday. Thank you for making our holiday so extra special.

Hotel is in excellent position relatively close to downtown. Problem could be with mosquitoes because of high level of humidity and position along the lake shore. Room furniture is old and in a bad condition. Breakfast does not offer too much choices and it was generally the same. Generally, I will say it is 3 star hotel.

Located in Yen Phu street overlooking West Lake, close to a large selection of good restaurants in Tay Ho, and an easy commute into the tourist district of Hoan Kiem and the old quarter. A very good breakfast that caters for both Western and Asian tastes is served in the top floor restaurant that has expansive views over the lake. The view from our executive lake view room was amazing. The friendly and helpful staff made us feel totally at home, so much so that we have already booked for a return visit.

i had about a week in the sunset westlake and was very impressed by the excellent service of the staff who were friendly, polite and attentive at all times and without exception. mr vung and his team on reception were enthusiastic in their care and attention and the restaurant staff on the top floor were always delightful. the menu in the restaurant was well chosen if a bit limited but the breakfasts were good. the rooms and the beds in particular were very comfortable and well equipped. although the hotel is on the west side of west lake (ho tay) and a fair way from the centre, it offers a restful haven from the frenetic pace of the old quarter. it's not exactly on a quiet corner itself but the staff and the ambience make it one of the most comfortable hotels i have stayed in... well, just about anywhere.

Location is great in Tay Ho District. However, you need to take a 10 minute cab ride to town.

The beds are comfortable, the hotel is in a great location, and the staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. We stayed here once, left to go to Cat Ba, and then booked here again upon returning to Hanoi because of our first positive experience. Somewhat outdated (fitness equipment, etc.), but everything is clean and in working order. Highly recommended.

The owner and manager are very, very helpful and will do anything to make your stay pleasant. The bed was very comfortable and most items in the apartment were brand new. It is a 20 minute drive from the Old Quarter - the tourist hot spot, but if you like peace and quiet, you can find it here. The lake is very big to walk around, which we enjoyed and at night the city lights look beautiful. Thank you to the staff for all their help

At first our booking didnt go through (apparently there is a problem booking through agoda here) but the beds were awesome and facilities were super clean. Great price for the accomodation. It isnt near food though so you should get a grab or cross over a highway to get to Tay Ho westlake area for some great food

Location is Okk depends on where you wanna go, its by the west lake district but more of the end side so in walking distance there wont be much options to eat ( still some available), the reception is also in the basement and the sign of the hotel is small so taxis might have problem finding it so just look out for it carefully. We booked 3 standard rooms and they were all very nice decorated, sink is a bit rusty but acceptable, the lady living in the basement ( maybe the housekeeper) is very nice, she went out of her way to accommodate us. Front desk staff were also nice. I would rate it a 4/5 overall.

Very helpful staff, the owner is a lovely guy (bought me a breakfast at nearby cafe). The hotel is very clean and easily access to both Tay Ho and Old Quarter areas, as it is half way between both areas

The place can be considered to be strategically located as it is very accessible to taxis and is very near West Lake. Creepy though as the hallways are dark and fronting the elevator (6th floor where we stayed), there are nude photos which are inappropriate if you have kids with you. The room is old but spacious. Since it is an old building/old room, the shower and other furnitures need replacing. The bed is tooooooo hard!!! I had difficulty sleeping and in just one night, the bed was able to bring out all sorts of pain on y body particularly my back and shoulder.

Cannot express enough how good the staff and services were. Stayed here for a week and it felt like home. Although the location is a bit far off downtown, it was easy to get taxis and the taxi rates were reasonable. The Tay Ho river is right across the property and is a great place to relax in the evenings with lots of cafes and street stalls around.

Hannah the front of desk is amazing she's so helpful.. location is great amazing views of the lake and only a few dollars for an uber to old quarter or nice restaurants of west lake.. Will be making this out home away from home next time in Hanoi.. Thanks Hannah from all your great work

Great room for the price, convenient location a 5 minute walk to bars restaurants and the lake. Would not recommend to a female solo traveller as it's down a small alley

Just a few walks to the West Lake. Friendly and helpful staff. Not much street food, but it's no problem. The price is so cheap, compared with nearby hotels The room was clean, big. Comfortable stay.

The staff are quite nice. No breakfast provided but you can easily find food nearby. The west lake is beautiful. However, the hotel is difficult to find at the first time and the street number is not very well known by taxi driver.

I have stayed at Gia Kim hotel twice when visiting my girlfriend, and the staff has been very accommodating in many ways. They provide me with an iron, adaptor, daily cleaning, fresh towels. The location is good as it is a very close walk to the lake and some nice cafes, and plenty of local food on their street. It is also a very short ride or longer walk to Tay Ho,downtown, and the old quarter. The Staff will go out of their way to provide dishes and utensils for outside food. The downsides are the noise (but hanoi is noisy almost everywhere) and some of the mattresses need replaced as they are a bit hard with the coils. Overall, for the value, I recommend Gia Kim Hotel.

Tis hotel basically is far from most amenities except Ho Tay which is the lake… it's quite difficult to get transport unless u speak Vietnamese and able to call Grab. There is a Karaoke beside which may be noisy if u get the wrong room… Staff were unable to communicate with English. However juz across the road, bus no 86 direct to the airport 30K VND which is a plus point… for juz a short stay and budget, this hotel is juz nice and clean… otherwise, there r more hotel that is nearer to popular spots…
