Thaksin Hotel”

BigC supermarket very close, but far distance from the attractions, and the price is a little expensive motorcycle ride. From Nakhon Si Thammarat airport taxi service to the city, 300 baht one way, but basically a taxi ride from the city to the airport, only motorcycles, motorcycle to the airport is also 300 baht.

Ok hotel ”

A nice hotel at a off beaten town. Clean beds and clean toilets. Nearby Big-C shopping to buy groceries if needed. We had a over night stay so as to catch flight from Nakhon Si Thammarat airport in the morning. It's about 20 minutes with low traffic.

Functional Hotel, friendly staff & poor breakfast”

Hotel options are limited in Nakhom Si Thammarat but this worked well for us. At this price it was a great option for us. It is right around the corner from a Carfore grocery store where you can get anything you might need. Easy walk to the main street through town where you can catch a Songtaow most places. We found the staff very friendly and accommodating. Most spoke no English but there was always at least one staff who could translate. Our "included breakfast" wasn't really worth eating. The first morning they had forgotten that any of their guests needed breakfast. Finally, they rounded up a maid who fried a couple eggs and made some toast. They second morning the "cook" was there. The menu was extended to French toast but the fried eggs tasted better.

Good location”

We chose Thaksin hotel because it was one of the few hotels that were to choose from in Nakon Si Thammarat. Our VAN-transporter found the hotel directly from our description. It turned out that the situation was perfect, right in the center and close to restaurants, attractions, shopping and so on. The only negative of the stay was the breakfast, which was not worth the price. Because there were so few tourists it was knowledge of English limited for the hotel staff, but everything worked out after a little explanation.

No frills, but no spills either”

the room was clean, if a little tired, had big windows, and was pretty well sized for two people. i forgot to request a double bed, so couldn't really complain about getting two single beds, although it was a bit annoying that the beds are fixed in place, so you can't even push them together. my only real complaint is that the mattresses are so hard. i generally like firm mattresses, but these were like sleeping on rock. overall though, i would say the thaksin is a good place to stay for one or two nights, given how awful many provincial thai mid-range hotels often are, and decent value for money. the location is good too, near shops, restaurants, and transport links (apart from the bus station). nakorn itself is a pleasant town, with some surprisingly funky cafes and restaurants, and a relaxed, non-touristy feel.

excellent accommodation in city centre”

The hotel offers good value accommodation close to restaurants and entertainment centres. The friendly, helpful, non-intrsive attention of the staff was greatly appreciated. Secure car parking is availabl very close to the hotel rooms.

convenient location ”

The best feature of this is hotel is that it is located at the heart of the city but a bit noisy due to vehicles passing by. Many shops and eateries close to it but not very good to walk during rainy seasons as the pavements gets so muddy and sometimes the waters rise up to 3 inches high. The rooms are pretty big but needs more cleaning esp the air conditioning.

Hardest bed I have never slept in.”

there are not a lot of western tourists around this area and consequently not a lot of english spoken.if you don't have a map you will have trouble finding the hotel.the hotel is showing its age but probably very good for this region.the rooms are old and dated but the worst thing is the bed.i have had hard beds around asia before now but this was akin to trying to sleep on a snooker table. staff were very friendly and even with limited english they pointed us in the right direction.the restaurant had an english menu which is rare around this area.

Just stayed one night before flight to Bangkok. The hotel is in a central location near to a shopping centre with food hall kfc etc.For the price the hotel offered good value for money ok for one night.If you want to stay in the area longer there are nicer hotels. But the staff where friendly and sort out our taxi for early morning flight no problem

just great for our needs”

this was a great hotel for the time we spent here. it was comfortable clean and wellappointed. the staff were friendly and helpful. a big supermarket very close by was great so we could get a few items that had been difficult to find in the smaller local shops.

i think it's a so-so hotel because everything is well, so-so. so-so service, room, breakfast and so on. i guess it's worth the price?

pleasant hotel”

Staff were kind and friendly, they even offered to buy me something i need foe my personal use. Location is great, shops and restaurants are quite near the hotel.

Old hotel close to Big C”

Dusty old airconditionning in room that made us cough. Terrible noise: you can easily hear people talking and walking in the corridors and in the rooms next door. Nice hard beds though. Good little breakfast shop for joke & salabow (Chinese hamburger around the corner). Very handy to walk to BIG C for all other food needs

ok hotel, right in the middle of the town.”

we went there you for a stop over, and to try a normal town. they are not used to turists, so you are a bit of atraction in yourself. go to 99 for a meal, it is quite good.
