Just a great place to stay. The tops”

After four years living in Can Tho a very pleasant surprise to discover Thanh Dat Resort. A few kilometers out of centre of Can Tho but worth the few dollars in taxi fares. Bungalows are top rate and the whole atmosphere of the resort is great. Staff are great and great to see bird life being attended to in what for Vietnam is very high standards.

Excellent service and a beautiful setting”

thanh dat is a great hotel with clean, bright rooms at really affordable prices. the staff are super helpful. the place is a little out of town but a taxi journey was to city centre so no problems there. the tropical gardens are a wonderful place to soak up the atmosphere and fish tanks line the walk back to your room. a great place to stay if you visit can tho. whilst its a little hard to find it is well worth the effort.

Excellent hotel”

We really enjoyed our stay in the resort, the garden setting was beautiful and the room was just as nice. We were served a complimentary glass of iced tea when we arrived and the staff were very friendly and spoke pretty good English. We followed the advice of other reviewers and booked the sunrise your to cai re market, we elected to arrange this with the tour guide recommended by the hotel. It may have been more expensive than the tours in the centre of town but it picked us up from the hotel and we had a private tour for 4 hours for 30 dollars which we were happy with. The hotel is a 5 min drive from the centre of Can tho but it feels like a world away, and we liked the laid back feel. It would be perfect if you have kids because it had a mini assault course and swings etc. We would definitely recommend and stay again.

Interesting mini resort in hard to find location”

I booked 3 garden view bungalows for a family trip to the floating market in the area. The rooms we got were big and clean. They also faced the garden area as promised. The garden area is pretty though not particularly big. The downside to the rooms is that there are some insects crawling or flying around sometimes. Perhaps that is due to the bungalows' proximity to the garden, but you may want to book a room further from the garden if that bothers you. On the plus side, my husband somehow avoided getting bitten by mosquitoes there even though he had already accumulated 16 bites in the week prior elsewhere in Vietnam. Also, the rooms were otherwise very clean. As for the hotel itself, it is difficult to find because of its location off a tiny unpaved 1 lane road. It is also far from the city center. The hotel is located on the river's edge, however, so you at least have the option of chartering a boat straight from the hotel to the floating market. All in all, the location is the biggest drawback of Thanh Dat Resort. The resort appears fairly well maintained. The included breakfast is ok but nothing special. If you don't mind a hotel located literally off the beaten path, it was definitely a good value for the money.

I booked 5 rooms and treated my wife's family to a holiday here The rooms were all good everyone had a great time in the pool and lounging around in the beautiful gardens I highly recommend Thanh Dat Resort

A garden haven and excellent service.”

was great for our 12 yr old to have a bit more space. (for younger kids you would need to watch them near the many ponds). hung picked us up at 5.30 am from the hotel 's private dock and we were able to see the sunrise over the river and then visit the floating markets before the rush and from the safety of our private little boat. we cruised the little water ways, visited the rice noodle factory and got "home"to thanh dat at 1.30 for a little siesta.

Thanh Dat Resort is quite and very nice. It is suitable for family trip as of its wide garden & nice decoration. They also serve the food all day with a high quality. I really love my stay here and surely come back if I visit Can Tho again.

In general, I did enjoy my time there. This hotel is a good money value hotel, compared to a lot of so called 3-star hotels in Can Tho. I loved the surrounding garden and quite atmosphere of Thanh Dat. Restaurant serves normal food with quite reasonable prices for those who cannot find their time to eat out in the downtown of Can Tho. My only problem was that the water drained so slowly in the bathroom basin.

Friendly hotel”

Down a dirt lane, the hotel is a welcome surprise. We arrived late and tired and given we were only spending the day in Can Tho we needed to arrange a boat trip for the next morning that night. We were pleasantly surprised when an English speaking person organised our trip for $20 each to spend till 1.30 in a small boat visiting the floating markets and then a bus to Ho Chi Min City. The boat lady made us all palm rings, earrings and even a bunch of flowers with crickets all from palm leaves! The hotel room was spacious and comfortable. The restaurant is spacious and pleasant. Recommended

Its a resort”

This is a vietnamese resort and its a bit out of the town so if you want to stay in the town and access it's amenities easily then this might not be the place for you. The resort is a 60,000vnd cab from the local bus station and the same again from the town centre. This amounts to 4/4.5 kms (give or take) and if you walk its along grotty roads. There is no local bus service running nearby but you can get xe om from the end of the road. That said, for the price we paid its a good deal, big very clean rooms, good a/c, friendly & helpful staff. The tours are competitively priced and more personal as the boats used are smaller than the others we saw. Veggie options on menu are very limited.

Quiet oasis outside of town”

I was on an extended stay for school and choose this location for it's price and proximity to CTUMP. Aside from the long dirt road leading to it, it's a wonderful place to stay. I would recommend it for short or long stays. The breakfast was basic but free. Staff were friendly and helpful. Tours can be scheduled from the hotel they will be a bit more expensive ($20 per rider) but the lady will bargain and the tour is personalized for you. I would recommend a mosquito just because of the area. Great find!

Great Hotel & Accessible to Chiang Rai Markets”

We had a fantastic time in this resort. The staff are all very friendly & they are fluent enough in English to be able to assist you. The resort itself is on the river & they can arrange for a boat to take you straight from the resort to the Chiang Rai Floating Markets. The surrounding ponds and gardens are beautiful and obviously have a lot of thought and care put into them. This was the first time our Vietnamese host used this resort & she is certain to use it from now on with other international guests.

Great place to stay with a HUGE garden”

This hotel was very clean, had a huge botanical garden, great food, very large rooms, and a nice staff. All in all a great value for your money. It is away from the city, which makes it very quiet. If you are looking for a very peaceful and relaxing place to stay while you do tours (floating market) this is the place. We were skeptical while driving to the resort and it is down a weird alley, but once we entered the resort and walked around we were impressed. We stayed for 2 nights to break up our travel from ho chi minh to phu quoc and were happy that we choose this hotel. It is very kid friendly. A great choice and great value for your money.

This is not just a stay in Can Tho, I will say this is my luxury bungalow fully equiped with kid-friendly cafe and garden. My 3 yrs old son love the playground and sand pool a lots! This is truely a bonus to family travel with kid! Thanks those advice given by Mdm Chi and her kindness for offering my driver a room to stay. What to improve : breakfast. The staff request extra pay when I asked for butter and jam, in my omelette set. sigh~ This is ridiculous!

I liked Can Tho very much. I will return. I would prefer to stay at Than Dat. A short drive from the city centre, 10 minutes. The approach to the hotel is a little rustic but from then It just got better.

thanh dat resort is a garden resort,the location is a bit out of town but the resort provide motorbike rental.if you like to stay in a relax and quiet hotel,i recommend thanh dat resort is worth a stay.

A tropical garden along a canal ”

Luckily the hotel is off the Main Street, even if a bit difficult to reach , as Can Tho is much bigger than we thought.1,5 million inhabitants.it means lots of traffic.but the hotel is very quiet , big clean rooms, with a very well kept garden tons of tropical plants , and some birds, peacocks,. Staff is extremely helpful and kind and. The restaurant serves large portions off local food at reasonable cost, but.many local restaurants around, Scooter or motorbike is needed to enjoy the beauty of countryside and drive along the canals. Doing the boat trip the floatting markets is a must. Excellent value to money. We extended our stay of 2 extra nights to deepen a bit more in the Delta.... Will recommend the place to anyone
