The hotel is right opposite the riverside promenade.The area is pretty quiet with around half a dozen restaurants and a few resorts/homestays. We actually enjoyed the quietness and had a couple of nights decent sleep. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the maids welcoming and friendly.Some of the reception staff were a little bit aloof but it wasn't a problem. The hotel gives free bicycle hire which is good.You can cycle along the promenade and parallel road quite comfortably as there is little traffic. You can cycle,also,to the famous temple Wat Phrathat Phanom which is about 1 kilometer away and well worth a visit. The hotels breakfast is buffet style and not bad and you can also get a massage in your room,if you wish. For trips out,both Nakhon Phanom and Mukdahan are about 50 kilometres away in opposite directions,so That Phanom is a good base for a short break. Overall,the That Phanom River View is good value for money and ideal for those wanting to relax and chill out.

Everything in That Phanom easily accessible from this hotel 5 mins to town centre stayed here a couple of times now and never any complaints. Good quality value for money hotel

The rooms are big and very clean, the bed is comfortable, aircon, fridge, lounge in room. Thai style wet bathroom. The photos displayed on the site are totally misleading of the exterior area. There is no "lobby" or outdoor eating sitting area, this is someone's home and you check in through the door. Everything outside is run down or broken, including the sign, the riverside sitting area in photos is really old and dilapidated. The Riverview room windows open onto the car parking area and everyone can see in, you cannot have curtains open to see view, without people seeing into room. Not good value for money a lot better places to stay for same money or cheaper.

i originally booked to stay for 3 nights. i ended up staying 16! yes, 16 wonderful nights. situated right on the breathtakingly beautiful maekhong river, there are just 6 cabins. the cabins are spotlessly clean. tea and coffee making facilities are provided, a rarity at times in thailand. minibar has a great selection of beers, snacks, soft drinks and orange juice. even noodles if you need a hot snack. bathroom and living areas a good size, air-con, fan, and tv. plenty of room to move. each cabin has a patio with table and chairs - perfect for enjoying a cold beer and gazing at the river. rotchana and andi, her aussie husband are warm, sincere and welcoming. the isaan food rose cooks is totally delicious. i will miss it!! nothing is too difficult for them, their hospitality is generous and straight from the heart. rose organised day trips and personally takes you. a day in laos, visiting some local sights was great fun. rose also took me to mukdahan for a visit yo the indo-chine market - fantastic shopping!! one day we went to their local village and had pork noodles for lunch. a morning at the local market also not to be missed, watching rose and andi buying the local very fresh vegetables for meals at the retreat. also don't miss the that phanom chedi. they both love talking to you about anything really, of course about local life in the area. andi has chang beer on tap in the house, yum! on the other hand if you just want to relax and do not much that is okay too. cannot wait to go back there!!

Best place in That Phanom. Nice rooms, good cleaning, helpful and kind staff nearby the beautiful Wat Phra That Phanom. Good restaurant just beside with tasty food and drinks.

the nj hotel is right on the highway--not that it's a particularly busy road. it's a few minutes walk to the temple and to the actual town of that phanom, but if you don't mind that then it's a perfectly fine place to stay. nj is close, however, to the area's park and to the lao market (monday and thursday). it's more of a motel than hotel (open 24 hours a day), but it's clean and quiet. the owner speaks some english, but if you have any outrageous requests you might have some trouble communicating. the rest of the staff doesn't speak english, though the owner is perfectly happy to help. if you're looking for somewhere inexpensive but still pleasant, this is a good place.

-just 200m to the temple (Phra That Phanom) but a bit far from riverside -staff is very nice

very quiet nice small hotel on main road in that phanom. stuff are very kindly want help u with everything. room small but service very good. restaurant offers very good thai food. not much tourism there. closte to temple phra that phanom and mekong river. only proble is: not easy to find taxi and nowhere to rent car ore motorbike. but for hotel is very nice.

Spent 2 nights at this hotel,easy to find,about 5 K's along river from city centre,rooms were clean & tidy,ours had separate bed room very decorative recessed celling with down lights,gold curtains & LCD TV,Large 200 Litre fridge in living-dinning area, terrace right out side.Over all had a good stay.

Lovely place with really nice owner. He didn't speak English but I have no right to complain - I don't speak Thai and I'm in Thailand. Don't need hot water. Last time I came out here nowhere had hot water. It was cold water in a tub and you had a scoop to pour it over you. I had a room on the street but three noise at night was not bad and I have earplugs so I slept perfectly. Load of snowflakes complaint about small things here. Want 5 star? Pay for it. Cool free bikes also, and a beautiful building - 5 minutes to the temple, 1 minute to the river, 1 minute to the small night market.
