Great for a cheap weekend away”

It’s a lovely B&B. Staff are great and friendly and room (ground floor, room #1) was a reasonable size double, with en-suite and done in neutral décor throughout (white). Breakfast was cereal + medium sized cooked breakfast included in the price. Given the relatively low price paid it beat staying at hotels in the area that were twice the price that we were looking at as alternatives. Located in Jesmond on the outskirts of Newcastle city centre it is possible to walk but we mainly took Uber that cost around £10(less than 10 mins) to get in during early evening and £16 on way back at 1am. On the second night we walked back as we were coming out of a gig with 50k others so by the time we’d walked far enough for the crowds to thin out enough to think about getting a taxi we were less than 10 mins away. Would definitely stay again if there for the weekend. If you’re only using it as a place to lay your head at night (and let’s be honest that’s what most hotel stays are anyway) then it’s perfect. The only other minor inconvenience is the council in their ‘wisdom’ have put bollards up halfway along each road that run parallel with each other, effectively stopping people using that area as a short cut from one part of Jesmond to the other. This just meant a little detour to go an half a mile around the block to access the hotel but in fairness the hotel is exaclty where the bollards are, so it is possible to park on either side of them without issue. (All the locals and taxi drivers hate the bollards but doesn’t really affect your stay and the local roads are a little quieter as a result which is actually a benefit to your stay as passing traffic is reduced.
